:) Click to report rating *  10/28/09 5 3 3 This man knows his stuff, but if you're looking for a doctor to be your best friend and baby you, find someone else. He's devoted to keeping you and your fetus healthy. Once your baby is born, he could care less about your bundle of joy. I asked him a simple question about my baby when he came to discharge me (back in 2006). He did make an effort and looked at my baby but then said "I don't know, it's not my problem". Um, what? Instead of saying it's "not my problem", he should have said "perhaps you should talk to your family doctor". He's civil & friendly, but at the same time can make you feel inferior and inadequate. All that being said, I'd go back to him in an instant because of his knowledge and experience.

:) Click to report rating *  1/20/09 5 5 3 I had an hysterectomy on the 9th of January 2009.It was an abdominal surgery. Dr.Kogon's bedside manner was great ,but i felt rushed and i really had to press him for answers after my surgery.Over all this doctor knows what he is doing!!!!Rushed yes ,but his staff members are always there to help if he is not. They will find the answer to what i was asking...I thank god everyday that he took me on to do this operation when others wouldn't... I am only 25 and he did a wonderfully job on my insecion and i know there will be a little scar....

:| Click to report rating    6/28/08 4 5 2 He was helpful but I felt I had to push him to answer my questions. I have no regular doctor and I really needed help with anemia and excessive menstral bleeding. the ER doctor had put me on the birth control pill to control bleeding and he kept talking to me like I had made that choice. I had to tell him several times that it was not my choice it's just my blood level was so low I was doing what I could to avoid having a blood transfusion. I have to go back in a month for follow up and I'm hoping he will be more informative and talkative. Also, there's nothing worse than a gyno who doesn't know enough to warm up his instruments. very cold and very painful

:) Click to report rating    3/26/08 5 5 5 Dr.Kogan is an amazing Dr!! Kogan was not my Dr for my first child but I needed a C-section,he did a fantastic job and my scar is almost gone, it healed perfectly. I am now 4 months pregnant with my second, and pleased that Kogan is my Dr. Being 37 I was concerned about have special testing, he explained everything & made me feel very comfortable with MY decision! It is very different this time around knowing my due date since I am having a scheduled c-section but I know that Dr.Kogan will make me feel comfortable the day of and I know that I am in the best hands. I must say I enjoy my visits, he has always been on time and asks if I have any questions, I feel comfortable asking him anything, he takes the time to explain things. His wife Debbie and the other receptionist are Top Notch,I am a receptionist myself,so appreciate getting such a warm inviting reception when I go for my appts. They are a great team! Way to go!I may even name the baby...if it's a boy?"KOGAN"...smiles! Heidi

:) Click to report rating    3/3/08 5 5 5 I have known Dr. Dave Kogon for many years. Actually I worked in his office years ago in Amherst. I have had the good fortune to have all four of my grandchildren delivered. Heis a wonderful man and an excellent doctor. He really cares about his patients and his wife Debbie is very dear. They are good to everyone. I saw it first hand and would ( and do) recommend him to everyone I care about. He is one of the best!!!

:) Click to report rating    12/28/07 5 5 3 I find that I am rushed through my appointments. This is my first child and my questions are always answered briefly and abruptly. He is not very thorough. I always enjoy getting a med student when I`m in because they are much more thorough. I understand he is busy but I still feel he could put a bit more effort into the doctor patient relationship. His staff are excellent and I never have waited long.

:) Click to report rating    9/11/07 5 5 5 I had been dealing with several Gyno's who refused to treat me then I was refered to Dr Kogon. He was very punctual and was able to see me within 2 weeks of my referal. He was very informative and got me the treatment I needed very quickly. I agree with some of you that he can be blunt but; Id rather blunt then some doctors who don't tell you anything. I would refer Dr Kogon to anyone

:( Click to report rating    5/6/07 3 1 I would not recommend this doctor to anyone. And if you are considering seeing him I would urge you to research the number of C-sections he does in relation to vaginal births. I am currently 7 months pregnant and I have not once been examined by Dr. Kogon. He's never asked me if I had any questions or how I am feeling. When anything is brought to his attention he is patronizing and dismissive and I feel like he doesn't take any of my concerns seriously. I'm not a person who complains about every little thing. This is my second pregnancy and after having complications with my first I would like a doctor who would at least listen to my concerns and take me seriously. This is not him. That being said, his office staff is wonderful.

:) Click to report rating    4/6/07 4 5 I have been to Dr. Kogan many times, and he also delivered my granddaughter. He and his staff are amazing, friendly and very helpful. You always feel like you are number one, and he is never rushed! He talks to you in very plain language, not over your head. He is a very busy doctor, but you never feel like you are being herded in and out quickly.

:) Click to report rating    3/16/07 5 5 Great Doctor.. he did my Csection and ten years later my tubal ligation. Very nice and funny man, great staff. I have noticed with the bad comments on the site, they are the same EXACT negative comments under many doctors names.. someone is just being nasty. I think he is a wonderful man and doctor! :) Click to report rating *  3/15/07 5 5 He was the doctor on call to deliver my daughter. My regular doctor (Dr Gillespie) was clear that he was not coming in on the weekend to deliver, even though he was in bright and early Sunday morning to discharge the patient sharing my room. But I digress, for the small amount of time I had Dr Kogon, he was great, c-section was done quickly, efficiently. He was kind and considerate and took my feelings and well being very much into consideration. I have almost no scarring and everything healed well. I hope to get referred to him for my next pregnancy, instead of Dr Gillespie who was very cold and impersonal and not empathetic at all.

:) Click to report rating    3/15/07 5 5 Terrific doctor who knows his stuff! Was having complications with a delivery and he actually arrived in the OR with a baseball uniform on. Guided me through a vaginal delivery without having to have a C-section (which was pretty much planned before he arrived). Kudos to Dr. Kogon!

:( Click to report rating *  3/14/07 3 2 Dr. Kogon filled in for my regular OB (the FANTASTIC Dr. Gillespie) and it was definitely an unwelcome change. Very patronizing and dismissive. As well, he was the doctor that discharged me after the birth and "informed" me that if I was breastfeeding, I wouldn't need any birth control. Um, breastfeeding (full time - he didn't even qualify that) may offer some protection, but it's hardly foolproof. Thank goodness I had more common sense than to rely on that.

:) Click to report rating    3/8/07 4 5 Well as I read the other comments it sounds like a lot of you wouldn't be happy with anyone. Kogan is one of the best in Moncton. He is very busy and may come across to some as having no bed side manner, but this man again is extremely busy. I have seen him for a tubal and bladder problems and menstruation problems and not once has he made me feel bad. Yes he is very blunt but honest. His wife and receptionist are great ladies and very approachable. Cheers to this office is all I can say and it will be a sad day in Moncton when this OBGYN retires. D LeBlanc

:) Click to report rating    3/6/07 5 5 Was followed for all 3 of my children. I loved Dr. Kogon he was always on time and terrific bed side manner. Even when my last happened when I was over 40 he took me through all the steps not necessarily recommending an amnio. I requested one be done and he was great through the entire proceedure. Have recommended him to other who all had great experiences.

:( Click to report rating    3/3/07 4 1 Dr Kogon's discussion with me regarding the risks of my pregnancy (I was 40) was genuinely terrifying. Seemed to be "pushing" invasive testing. Thank God I had someone else at the hospital recommend that I do all methods of non-invasive testing BEFORE I get the needle. I went to Saint John for the test and everything was fine. Dr Kogon made me feel ashamed that I had my baby at 40 instead of younger.

:) Click to report rating    2/18/07 4 5 Dr.Kogon and Staff were fantastic. I had him through both my PGs and through a GYNO problem. Made me feel great, very helpful, answered all my questions, explained what he was doing. He was great with bedside manner, very funny, made you at ease. Office staff where fantastic, very friendly. Dr.Kogon is a teaching doctor so he will at times have students in with him. I had no problems with this all of his students where very nice, and helpful as well.

:( Click to report rating    2/18/07 4 2 Very impersonal man. Obviously in this profession for the money and not to make a difference in the world. Women come to him in times of joy (pregnancy) and times of great stress (gyne problems .. possible CA) and he treats each and everyone like a "case" instead of a person with feelings. His staff: amazing. Himself: Not so much. Makes you feel like you're below him socially. Really needs to work on his people skills.

:| Click to report rating    2/12/07 4 2 I found him very rude, he had no bedside manner and my apointments always felt rushed. It was my first pregnancy and I felt like a 'non person'. I felt that he was also very rude to my boyfriend. On the positive side, once it was decided that I had to have a c-section, there was no messin' around and my section scar is very small. His office staff were great, however, I would not recommend him to first time mothers.
