:) Click to report rating *  10/3/08 5 4 5 Dr. Savona is the only doctor that I trust with my son's healthcare. Before we found Dr. Savona, we went to a larger well known pediatric practice in the Oviedo area and we felt like just a number there with no personalized care. Dr. Savona will take as much time as needed with his patients and all the parents that I talk to in the waiting room also rave about him. The nurses are wonderful, caring and obvisiously love children. We may call in the afternoon and still be seen for a sick appt that day. Granted sometimes you may have to wait some, but it beats having to go to an after hours clinic or ER! You can't go wrong with Dr. Savona!

:) Click to report rating    6/20/08 5 4 5 Dr. Savona is an amazing doctor. He takes the time to listen and works with us to find the least invasive option for caring for our kids. When we have a concern regarding something we heard in the news or from a friend, he is provides us with the resources to either confirm or deny the rumor. He truly cares about the children in his practice.

:) Click to report rating    1/21/08 5 5 5 I was impressed with Dr. Savona from the very beginning. I was in the hospital 4 days and I awoke to Savona every morning for my sons daily checkup. At his first office visit, he told me to call when i was in the parking lot before coming up to his office to make sure that i would not sit with my newborn in the waiting area with any other sick kids. I called and they told me to come up and took me right away straight to the room. That showed me that he cared about my sons health. He is very thorough and always asks if you have any questions. He is very polite and handles my son very well.

:(      11/11/07 4 4 1 He is rough, my baby cries when he squizes her little body. I had another wonderful doc (we relocated)so I'm sure that the way he treats my baby isn't gentle at all. On the 6 month check up the nurse (AWS0ME!) was busy so he had to do shots. First he asked me to lay my baby on the back on the table, which is normal, but then said to strighten both of her hands over her head, it looked like crucification, inhuman, baby was terrified and cried sooo hard. I'm angry with myself that I agreed to that. He is inpatient too, you can almost feel it. When I asked how long should I give my baby medicine he prescried, he looked at me as I was bothering him and said "as long as cold last" so I asked what that means, this time he showed me chart on the door without saying anythig obviously "tried" of me. I do not like his approach to my baby at all. I'm looking for a new ped.

:) Click to report rating    8/6/07 5 4 4 I think Dr. Savona is a wonderful pediatrician. He is very thurough and knowledgeable. He always answers your questions and is very straight forward. He diagnosed my sons heart condition and got us in to see a specialist without hesitation, which made all the difference for us. It is obvious he loves what he does and that he really cares about your child. His nurses are wonderful too.

:) Click to report rating    7/9/07 5 5 5 Dr. Savona has been our four children's primary care physician for 6 years now. His name is always recognized, in conversation with other physicians, and he is always highly regarded by professionals in the medical field. My youngest daughter was born with a skull condition and the neurologist that treated her raved about Dr. Savona and his attentiveness in quickly detect her condition. We love him!

:) Click to report rating    7/9/07 4 3 4 I have three boys and we have been seeing Savona for 11 years. There was a period of time in the last year where the service was not as good as it used to be, but I was in there the other day and things were great. Their long time nurse Eilene passed away in March from cancer so the office has gone through some transitions. Overall our family has been more than happy with the care. One thing though, Dr Savona is not the type of Dr to just give you an anti-biotic just to get you out the door. We have always followed his advise and my kids are never sick. One sick visit in the last 2 yrs between the 3 of them.

:|      7/3/07 2 2 2 I disagree with the comments about Dr. Savona's bedside manner. In fact, I've been very impressed with his patience for my three-year-old while he cares for the baby. However, my overall impression has not been positive because no one ever offers any advice: When I asked about car seat safety, I was told to check w/the local police department b/c "they do not keep up with the laws." (They don't keep up with the laws?!?!) This morning, when I called to ask a question about my oldest son, I was told "that's a mother's decision." I must have been spoiled by our former pediatrician's office - they provided information at each well visit on child safety and they ALWAYS offered their opinion about whether to have my children seen or whether I should continue to observe them before taking them in.

:) Click to report rating    6/1/07 5 5 I LOVE Dr. Savona. He has ALWAYS taken the time to listen to me and answer my questions. I have two boys and both were circum. by him at the hospital. It looked awesome. You couldn't even tell they had a minor surgery. I don't know what some of these people want that rated him below. He is straight forward and answers your questions. He is not rough with my baby. He is very caring with both of them and even lets me hold them while being examined. I really like him and would recommend him to anyone!!!

:(      5/5/07 3 1 Savona circumsized my son and it looks terrible. He also put him on Zantac without hesitation. We then took him to a pedi GI Dr after 3 months of torture with the stuff. This Dr. immediatly took him off. I then got a new Pediatriacian

:) Click to report rating    4/24/07 4 5 DR. SAVONA IS A WONDERFUL DOCTOR. HE HAS SUCH A SWEET AND KIND PERSONALITY. HE WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME BY MY OBGYN WHILE I WAS STILL PREGNANT. HE HAS CARED FOR MY DAUGHTER SINCE THE DAY SHE WAS BORN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM TO EVERYONE! WE EVEN HAVE HAD TO CALL HIM ON WEEKENDS AND NIGHTS FOR HEALTH QUESTIONS AND HE ALWAYS IS KIND, COURTEOUS, AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. I FEEL VERY COMFORTABLE AROUND HIM AND MY 7 MONTH OLD DOES TOO!

:|      4/9/07 4 3 My husband and I interviewed several pediatricians and we initially chose Dr. Savona because of his straight forward, no nonsense approach. His nurses are AWESOME! The office staff is acceptable, but curt at times. Our daughter, now 5 months old, has had croup (twice), bronchiolitis, bilateral ear infections, conjunctivitis, and an urinary tract infection (most of which were not diagnosed by Dr. Savona). He has taken a very unaggressive, nonresponsive approach to my daughter's health. His Rx for treatment is take her out of daycare and let the "cold" run its course. We have recived more help and diagnosis from our two trips to AfterHours Urgent Care and FL Hosp than we have in our many trips to Dr. Savona's. I am SO tired of hearing that daycare is the only reason this baby can't get healthy! I am not a bad mother for having to work and I put alot of effort into selecting a daycare setting for my little girl! We are in the process of finding a new pedriatrician.

:|      4/4/07 5 2 He is rough to my baby too. Everytime my baby will cry hard after his checkup. He seems that he is very busy and running between rooms. I don't feel that he has time for me to talk about my questions and concerns. He gave me a short answer to my question and indicated that was all for that question. I also have a concern about the number of nurse in his office. Usually only one nurse is there to help patients. But she has a great attitude to babies. But when I tried to call for some questions, I have to wait for her to return the call to me when she has time after helping the patients at office.

:)      3/17/07 4 5 We have been taking our daughter to Dr Savona for three years. He has always taken the time to listen to our concerns, explain his diagnosis or recommended treatment, and interact with our toddler. When we have called after hours, he always is the one to personally call us back. His staff is wonderful, and Dr Savona has always taken the time to address our concerns.

:)      3/9/07 3 5 My three boys (ages 10, 5 and 4)have been seeing Dr. Savona their entire lives and I can't say enough good things about him. I've referred so many people to him. If you just want a doctor to write a Rx every time your child has a sniffle, he's not the doctor for you. He takes his time, evaluates the child and the situation and takes the appropriate action. He doesn't hesitate to refer you to specialists if necessary, but also isn't a "Chicken Little." There have been times when I haven't been thrilled with the admin staff (not the nurses, LOVE them) but that's a minor gripe in comparison to the wonderful care we've recieved for almost 11 years.

:(      2/26/07 3 1 I took my son to Savona for the first 5 months but when he came down with a cough I told him he had a cough and rattle in his chest... he said don't worry about it... good thing I got a second opinion because he has RSV! Which can be very serious! Luckily we got that second opinion and it was treated before he ended up in the hospital! Also he said he was definatly NOT teething that is not the reason he isn't sleeping well... he cut his first tooth two days later!

:)      2/20/07 4 5 We have seen some of the larger practices in town but Dr. Savona, a one man show, slays those practices. He always returns calls....you will even talk to him personally as opposed to a service or nurses. He truly is very wise and very helpful. He communicates effectively with us as parents too. Very responsive staff as well.

:)      2/17/07 5 5 Dr. Savona has been attending our 11 year old son for the last four years. He has been very professional in his behavior and demonstrated a clear knowledge of his field. He has always taken the time respond to all of our questions and provided good advice. My wife and I have recommended him with confidence to our friends. The very few negative comments I have read appear to me to be suspect based on my personal experience and that of other parents I know who have only praise for his work. At times when our child required immediate attention his staff has always squeezed us into his busy schedule, and he has never rushed us through the visit.

:)      11/10/06 3 5 We have had Dr. Savona as our childrens doctor since the day they were born.. Now 9 & 12. He has helped us deal with ADD, colds, issues with the girls fighting, pre puberty, everyday aches and pains, and has also helped me as a parent by giving me tons of advice on how to deal with my ADD child. He always lets me know that children are different and she is a normal wonderful child. When I go to the doctor I want a doctor to do what i PAY him for. That is to check my children and find out if they are fine or find out what is wrong. He has NEVER acted inappropriate to me or my children. He is very thorough when checking over my girls. He lets me know what to expect next as far as maturity and things to watch for. I do have to wait when I go to see him, but I guess its kinda my fault for getting all my friends to go to him as well. hee hee I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a doctor who will give your child the best care.

:) Click to report rating    11/9/06 4 3 Dr Savona has cared for both of our children and has always been very professional. He is a knowledgable physician but can be busy at times. Even if there is a small wait, he always takes his time to be thorough. His nurses are usually helpful as well. You may need to be very proactive with some questions and care, but he will get you the information even if you have to ask a few times.

:) Click to report rating    7/19/06 3 5 Dr. Savona has been our pediatrician for the last seven years. We completely trust him with our six children and would never consider switching. He only gives antibiotics when necessary and is very careful to check everything to find out the exact problem. He has seen our children for everthing from birth to colds to hospitilization and everything in between and we have never disagreed with anything he has told us. We feel he is a blessing to our family and we would highly recommend him.

:) Click to report rating    7/18/06 4 5 Doctor Savona has taken care of my special needs daughter since 1999. He has always been extremely patient and has given her very thorough exams every time we have seen him and that is not easy to do. I feel very fortunate to have such a dedicated doctor. Sometimes we wait 20 minutes or so but his staff is always helpful and kind to my daughter as well.

:) Click to report rating    6/1/06 3 5 I have never had a problem with Dr Savona. We drive extra just to go see him. I have been with him for 5 years and the only thing that would get me to stop going to him is if I moved from the state! He is very knowledgeable, and I have never felt as if he didn't care about what I had to say. His nurses are excellent - always willing to help, even with a quick phone call. I can't help but think that some of these reports of the behavior of him are exaggerated - I truly have never seen that side of him. My son runs big as well, and all he has ever said was that I should try to reduce his carbs, and his caloric intake because his BMI was a little high. There were no insults - he has never insulted my children, or made any sort of dispariging remarks. I am truly sorry for those that had a bad experience, but I have never seen that side of him and truly do not believe it exists.

:( Click to report rating    3/16/06 4 1 Absolutely unbelievable experience! He has absolutely no patient/parent bedside manner. My son who has been off the charts in both weight and height was called atrocities! Dr. Savona called him "thunder thighs" on several occasions. Said he looked like the Michelin Man and called him Buddha to his face. Then proceeded to tell my son that "Mommy will show you who Buddha is when you get home!" I have never been so insulted in my life and hope my son never has to go through it again. My son is extremely active but he continuously told me he needed to be more active and that his caloric intake needed to go down. His nurses on the other hand, to the extent they were able to interact with us we wonderful! I have since my son's 3 year check up - left the practice. I will not subject my son to this kind of demeaning talk.

:)      12/1/05 4 5 Dr. Savona has been taking care of my 20 month old since the day he was born. He was highly recommended to me and I wouldn't trust anyone else with my baby. He is always very pleasant and his staff is amazing. They really listen and didn't think I was crazy for asking so many questions. they understood this was my first baby and I was concerned. Everytime I asked a question or called in they were very caring and explained everything. I'm now expeting our second baby in March and actually have changed the hospital I was going to use just to be sure we are in a Hospital that he participate with. My Husband said he is the only one allowed to give medical care to our children.

:)      11/26/05 3 5 Dr. Savona has been my kids doctor since birth (girls now 11 and 12). Yes, he is blunt, but has much knowledge. I only take the girls when things are "serious", and he gives a very thorough exam. I highly recommend him. I do know that some mothers want a more "cuddly, teddybear" doctor, but Dr. Savona is straight to the point and only does what he deems necessary. Any trip to the doctors is hard (for moms!), but I have never had a bad experience with Dr. Savona.

:(      5/20/05 4 1 His nurses & staff are wonderful. He, however is very cocky and does not listen. First, he was always rough with our daughter and took no attempt to talk to her and make her feel comfortable. Then, I would start to ask a question & before I could finish, he would interupt with an answer, which was usually wrong because he didn't even hear the question! We are always talked at, never with. The final straw was when I started to ask about vaccines and their safety. All I wanted was more information. Instead, he began shouting "no" and shaking his finger at me because he thought I was declining them. The poor nurses hunkered down in the hall outside the door. Finally, he calmed down, listened to my question and gave me a flier, as though that was all the information I needed, other than his unquestionable knowledge.

:)      2/11/05 5 5 Dr. Savona has been our peditrician since the birth of our 4-month old son. He has always been very helpful with ay questions we have had and always prompt even after regular hours. As others have said he is Blunt and to the point. If something is wrong you are going to know before you leave. There are many pediatricians much closer to our home, but we drive the extra distance to see who we think is the best in the area. I would and do recommend him to any parents wether you are new to this as we are or a seasoned veteran.

:)      1/12/05 5 5 Dr. Savona is a great doctor! He has helped us so much with our little girls hitting and biting. He believes in consistant talking, and explaining. Sounds crazy when your little 2 year old is trying to eat her sisters ears off, but it works, and it feels so much better then pinching or biting them back! His amazing staff, always make, all 3, of my little girls at ease. there is no crying on the way to the doctors office! Its great! Ok just one more thing, Dr.Savona is honest, and blunt, he Will let you know if something is wrong, just belive when he tells you there is, God willing, nothing to worry about. Good luck!

:)      11/18/04 3 5 Dr. Savona is a wonderful doctor. He has taken care of both of my children since birth. My oldest is 8 years old and has always been difficult going to see any doctor. Dr. Savona has understood her and has dealt with her very nicely. I completely trust him and his staff. They are very knowledgeable and I would recommend him to anyone.

:)      10/12/04 2 5 Savona has been my three-year-old's doctor since birth, and he's been great. She's had ear troubles and never has needed to restrain her. He does need help getting folks in more quickly, though.

:(      9/23/04 3 1 I took my child to see Dr. Savona and what happened to her during what should have been a routine ear check is inhumane. To look in her ear he put her in a straight jacket (he called it a papoose) and had a nurse hold her down! She is 3!
