The last comments blew me away because there's not a more compassionate, caring and kind physician in Moncton. Dr.Gillespie is very professional, 1 on 1 and if I had to recieve bad news again or go through something devastating physically again I cannot imagine having a different physician. He is a true gentlemen and has extensive medical knowledge that puts you at ease. Loved him.

I just read a review that spoke of his sloppiness....he is EXTREMELY sloppy....he delivered my cousin's first child via C-section and tore her bladder. She had to wear a cathader for 3 weeks and ended up with a couple of different infections relating to the torn bladder. I had him for a gynecological issue and he wasn't in any way reassuring. He was rude, cocky, smug, and looked to take pleasure in scaring me. Thank goodness I saw someone else and everything was okay. I wouldn't recommend Gillespie to my worst enemy. Horrible horrible experience. And I know of staff who say he's flirty with them and with patients. Very creepy. Certain staff refuse to work with him. Avoid him at all costs!!!

Dr. Gillespie is a fantastic doctor! I had a DVT half-way through my prengnacy (1st one) and I felt I was in such great care. He was very knowledable, caring and very reassuring. It was very stressful for me but I felt I was in the best care possible. I will absolutely return to Dr. Gillespie for my future pregnancies. His calm manner is an excellent off-set for anxious mothers, he's very reassuring and answered all of my questions.

Dr. Gillespie seemed really nice in the beginning of my pregnancy, but his demeanor totally changed by the time my son was born. He made me feel stupid for asking questions and dismissed my concerns. He huffed and puffed and checked his watch constantly while I was in labour. He ignored the input of the nurse and intern, even though they were spot on. Should I have more children, he will NOT be involved.

Dr. Gillespie is very kind, compassionate, and professional. He took his time to answer all my questions, and always went the extra mile for me in every way. He delivered both of my children, 6 years apart. He respected my opinions, even when I refused to follow the course he recommended. He even supported me when other doctors and nurses tried to force into something I didn't want. Could this be the source of the negative comments from other medical staff that have been mentioned on this forum? That he supports what is best for a woman instead of mindlessly following hospital routines? I find that Dr. Gillespie is supportive of natural birth, but is also one of the best surgeons in town. Like someone else said, I wish he could be my GP!

I was referred to Dr. Gillespie when I found out I was 6 weeks pregnant. Before I got chance to go to my first appointment with him, I suffered a miscarriage. The office called the day after I went to emergency to ensure that I was still coming to my appointment. They could have just cancelled my appointment, but it was good to hear they still wanted me to come in to talk about what had happened, etc. I found the Dr to be very caring, and understanding. Once I get pregnant again, I will be going back to him, and I definately feel comfortable in doing so.

I am a young unwed mother and still I found Dr. Gillespie to be very compassionate, professional, and friendly with great bedside manner. He is soft spoken which can come off as aloof at times but I much prefer this to doctors that get too chummy and go on long tirades. He seemed very knowledgeable and I always go back to him for any obstetrics and gynocology procedures.

I have seen Dr Gillespie for my 4 pregnancies. The first one resulted in a miscarriage, and he was very compassionate and caring. He was so reassuring when I came to see him for my 2nd pregnancy, since the miscarriage was so recent, I was extremely nervous and scared, he scheduled me for several ultrasounds to put my mind at ease! I was very dissapointed when he was not the one to deliver my 1st baby... He delivered my 2nd, and he was just as awesome as he was with my first pregnancy. My daughter was born 4 weeks early, and he eased my worries, he was just so nice through every appointment, at the birth also. My 4th and last one, he again was very helpful. We wanted to know the sex of the baby, and he took me over to the profile room himself at the end of his busy day and did an ultrasound. Again, I was extremely dissapointed that he wasn't there for the birth of my son, as he was on vacation. I would definitly recommend him to everyone! He also did my tubal ligation. Very good doctor! :)

This is my second pregnancy, but the first with Dr. Gillespie. I find it very shocking to read the negative ratings on him. I am 23 weeks pregnant and have nothing but positive things to say about him. He is quiet, gentle, caring, patient and has terrific bedside manner. I will be disappointed not to see him once this baby is born. I always look forward to the visits because he is so knowledgeable and kind. My experience thus far has been fantastic. Andrea is also wonderful, responds to calls quickly and efficiently, and when you open the door to enter his office, she is there behind the desk to greet you with a warm smile.

Thanks for all of your help through my pregnancy and delivery. All of our visits to your office were great and we felt well looked after. Now we have a beautiful baby boy!! We'll be back for that girl that you promised us! :-)

Horrible, horrible experience. Cocky, flirtatious, and arrogant. I'm sure he's good at Obstectrics but he hasn't got my vote on Gynechological issues. I fine his bedside manner at first to be genuine but he seems to find a strange and unprofessional rise out of giving you the worst possible senario. I never received one bit of comfort from him and would never go back nor would I recommend him to anyone I know.

GILLESPIE OR "DR. BABE"! THIS WAS MY FIRST PREGNANCY, AND MY HUSBAND AND I WERE AS MOST FIRST TIME PARENTS NERVOUS. DR. BABE INSTANTLY REASSURED AND CALMED US. THROUGH THE DELIEVERY WOW! AFTER EXCEPTIONAL! ALL I CAN SAY TO THESE DISGRUNTLED PATIENTS IS...DO YOU HAVE ISSUES WITH EVERYONE? Dr Gillespie was fabulous. I had him for both of my pregnancies and would not imagine going to anyone else. I went to him as soon as his practice opened in 1999 with my son who I had naturally and had high blood pressure. He was very knowledgeable. Four and a half years later I had my daughter by C-section and he was very considerate. I also had a tubalization while I had the C-section which was not a problem ( because it was emergency C-section). When my daughter was breech he himself went to the profile room and did the procedure himself instead of sending me to someone else which made me feel as though he cared. I would and have recommened him to others and hope they have/had the same great experiences I did. Congrats on the birth of your baby seen the picture in the newspaper. I had nothing but wonderful experiences thru my 3 pregnancies with him... He was always very kind and compassionate. Delivered all 3 of my children by c-section and did an absolute marvelous job with all 3. He definitely is an asset to the medical community in Moncton !!!

I had wonderful experinces with Dr.Gillespie. I had him with both of my pregnancies. He was nice and respectful and genuanlly seemed to care about me. He unfortunatley was not there for either birth. My daughter came too fast he missed it by minutes. And with my son he was on vacation. However all of my visits were good. Thank You Dr. Gilespie!!!

Dr Gillespie delivered both my children and I could not have asked to have a better doctor!After many "other" doctors and years of infertility, it took only one visit to Dr.Gillespie to get a proper diagnosis and get proper treatment...3 months later I would finally be pregnant! He was nothing but helpful and caring, he made me feel like a person and not a number. Dr.Gillespie always made time to hear my concerns and I never felt rushed. I can honestly say that I know that I received the BEST possible care for my babies and myself...and I would recommend him to anyone seeking a fantastic doctor that actually cares! THANK YOU SO MUCH DR.GILLESPIE!

Worst dr in the world. My son almost died at birth because he failed to mention I was positive for group b strep. Made me feel like a second class citizen because I was an unwed mother. Completely uncaring and cold during appts.

I did not like Dr Gillespie at all. Very cold and impersonal. Lacks compassion and should learn to empathize. Had pitting edema to the knee, was dismissive when I tried to bring it to his attention. Went in at 38 weeks into my pregnancy with a false alarm, when he checked me over, told me he "forgot" to do the group B strep testing, and proceeded to instruct ME how to do it! It was my first pregnancy and from what I read, I was under the impression the doctor was going to do this! I angrily informed him it was quite physically impossible for me to do it, and he left and a nurse returned to do it. In the time he was explaining how to do it, he could have done it himself! Then, after I had my daughter I was told by my family doctor that I wasn't immune to Rubella and would have to be immunized before I got pregnant again! Well, my doctor would have gotten this information from blood work Dr Gillespie ordered done! Dr Gillespie didn't tell me! Will try to see another doctor next time!!!

Dr. Gillespie was my OB and performed my C-section. Fantastic. He is very calming, gentle, doesn't seem rushed. He thoroughly answered every question I had (and expecting my first child, I had plenty!) Every time I had a NST at the hospital, a nurse would remark on how lucky I was to have Dr. G as my OB. When I went in for my scheduled section, several nurses again mentioned how lucky I was and what a skilled surgeon he was. My c-section scar is so even and barely noticeable. I healed fantastically. Frankly, I'm stunned that anyone had anything negative to say. I had gestational diabetes and more frequent appointments, and I was thrilled to have such a thorough, knowledgeable and kind doctor. I asked a lot of people for recommendations before my referral, as well as people who work at the hospital and in the Moncton health community, and all of them recommended Dr. Gillespie. Fantastic.

I had Dr. Gillespie for a hysterectomy and I almost died. Thanks to him I had to have multiple surgeries. I will never go and see him again and I will tell my friends or family not to go to him. He can't be trusted.

Love Dr. gillespie!! Can't believe there would be a negative thing to say about him. I had him for both of my pregnancies and he was excellent both times. Always helpful and caring, never cranky. He was there for the delivery of my beautiful baby boy, but couldn't be there for the delivery of my beautiful baby girl because he was becoming a father on that very same day! He is an awesome doctor. I would recommend him to anyone. Keep up the good work.

I went to Dr.Gillespie only to find out i needed to have an abdonminal hysterectory.A single mom of 3 children,i was quit worried about the surgery,but he held my hand and assured me all would be just fine.I did have a few complications,but with my post visits he said i will do whatever it takes to fix what's wrong,and he did.I was very pleased with his quiet,knowledgable,caring bedside manner...in or out of the hospital.I have recommended him to my friends and will continue to do so.I say keep up the good work Dr.Gillespie.

As a past employee of Dr.Gillespie,I have witnessed first hand what an incredible compassionate,professional,knowledgeable and dedicated doctor he truly is.Dr.Gillespie will work around the clock if necessary and has nothing but the interest of his patients at heart.He would repeatedly bend over backwards for any patient regardless of the day of the week or even hour of the day.Patients would respect him for attending to the needs of another as they would simply expect the same type of care should it be them.He is extremely compassionate and sensitive when dealing with unfortuate events and is always positive with a good sense of humour making for an excellent bedside manner.His patients mean everything to him and he treats them accordingly.He was truly a pleasure to work for and I take great pride in telling people so.Speaking as someone who has seen Dr.Gillespie work behind the scenes,whether you are expecting your first child or your fourth you will want him as your obstetrician.

Dr Gillespie has a standard of care higher than all others. I have been a patient since 1998 and have experienced highs & lows in his care. He always gave us hope while setting realistic expectations. He rushed to the ER when I should have been seen by the Dr on call. He delivered my son on a weekend that he was not on call. He always put my health & the health of my unborn child on top priority.

I am very happy having Dr. Gillespie for my OB/GYN. He was there for me through my 1st pregnancy and sat with me in emerg when nothing more could be done and I miscarried. He was also my doctor for the pregnancy and birth of my daughter. He is calm and quiet and reassuring, with EXCELLENT bedside manner. I always looked forward to my appointments, and can't wait for my next pregnancy to do it all again!

My friends in the O.R. report that he is the best and would recommend him to all ... very skilled surgeon. I am surprised at those that wrote contradicting remarks. Maybe you should look in the mirror and check your own attitude before arguing with such a highly regarded professional.

I have seen Dr, Gillespie many times and he was my doctor through both of my pregnancies. I would never want anyone else to care for me or delivery my children. All doctors are under great stress and just like everyone else they have bad days. Even on a bad day he is still the best yu could every have.

Dr. Gillespie has shown nothing but incredible patience and bedside manner. I have personally delt with dozens of physicians and this one has an amazing composure that allows the patient to feel at eaze knowing they are in such compassionate hands. I have also dealt on a professional level with Dr. Gillespie and many of his patients who always express their gratitude towards him. I truly believe we are blessed here in Moncton to have someone as gifted as he. I am absolutely dessimated that anyone could write negative comments concerning this doctor's performance. This man carries himself in the same manner outside of the office as he does in the O.R. - he is a tremendous asset to the healthcare system.

Dr. Gillespie is by far the most compassionate caring doctor I have ever been to. He delivered both of my babies and I wouldn't have wanted any other dr by my side. He kept me at ease throughout the entire process, he is an incredible listener and is very knowledgeable. He really cares about his patient and he takes the time to explain. He is extremely professional and I looked forward to all of my visits with him. I am so thankful to him for delivering my two beautiful babies!! He went above and beyond to help us in any way he could and I am proud to say Dr. Gillespie was my OBGYN. I would highly recommend him to anyone!

My friend & I even had a secret crush. lol To all the negative comments...perhaps it was you who was the problem, not him. I read the negative feedback ratings and was truly shocked - I had to wonder if these experiences were about the same doctor that I had. I loved Dr. Gillespie's manner and would recommend him to anyone! I have also heard from many other women that he is a fantastic doctor and they also had very positive experiences with him. I will go back to Dr. Gillespie for my next pregnancy in a heartbeat.

as a youg mother i ran into a medical problem. i called his office and got in a.s.a.p . dr.gillespie did not rest until he found out what was wrong. he made me feel at ease and very comfortable. highly recomended by a #1 patient.

A quiet doctor but very compassionate.I have had him for both my pregnancies.You can tell that he really cares about his patients,and his calm manner is very reassuring when you are in labour(Both of my labours were really fast & hard).He is very skilled- I needed an episiotomy with my first delivery and afterwards when the nurses would do my check-ups they couldn't even see the stitches.I recommend him to everyone who asks my opinion.

I had a very high risk pregnancy and Dr. Gillespie was recommended to me by a friend and my family doctor, both of whom had great things to say about him. I thought he was wonderful. He might not be the most socialable doctor, as he appears to be shy, but I did not care. He knew his stuff and made me feel very cared for. He was very cautious and never took any chances. I will definetly go back to him for my second baby!!!

I went to Dr. Gillespie for my second child after being refered by several friends who described him as very gentle and kind. I have discovered that they are correct. I think he is wonderful. Always takes the time to quiet fears and made you feel better when you leave and always has time for any questions you have. I think he is great and would recommend him to anyone.

My first child he was great...he was new and thorough and friendly. Two years later he was cranky thoroughout my pregnancy(isn't the pregnant lady supposed to be the cranky one?), I hated going to my scheduled appointments.He actually made me cry once. Told me to suck it up basically(over my sciatica) How can a doctor get burnt out so fast? I hope I can see someone else for my third pregnancy or it could get ugly. I won't tolerate being treated like that again. I've heard of others having similar problems.

Although I was not a patient of Dr. Gillespie's, he was the on-call doctor who delivered my first child. It was an AWFUL experience. He was terribly cold and unprofessional and argued with the nurse during the delivery. I have been informed by his patients that he is very caring but that was not my experience. I also know some people who have worked with him in surgery and have been told to request a different doctor if ever I needed some sort of surgery since he is very sloppy and does not pay attention.

I'm sure he's good at the baby part of his job but is not reassuring when it comes to gynechological issues. I had to get a second and third opinion for peace of mind. Thank goodness I did.

A quiet dignified doctor who puts patients at ease. Explains well what will be happening and very reassuring to us. Looks after his patients well pre and post baby and seems to be genuine.

Excellent experience with Dr. Gillespie. He was very professional and went above and beyond for me. I had complications with my pregnancy and ended up being induced with an eventual c-section, and he and his team did a wonderful job. He has an excellent reputation within the medical community in Moncton and I can certainly see why.

I have been to see Dr Gillespie about a half dozen times and always find him to be patient and very understanding....very knowledgeable and helpful as well
