Sharon has been my Doctor for over 20 years and I have found her care to be inconsistent. At times she listens and is very helpful but other times she treats you as if you are a hypochondriac. I have several diagnosed health issues and she still treats me this way. I never know what to expect when I go in. I realize she is very busy and I am sure that is part of the problem. I think she is a nice person but her bedside manner and listening skills should improve.

I feel I am an extremly lucky girl to have Sharon as a doctor. She takes time to listen, explains everything so you understand, and you always feel you are getting the best care that there is to offer! She is AMAZING!

My mother has Parkinson's. She asked Northrup for a referral to a specialist and she refused, wanted her to "track" her symptoms. My mother has had Parkinson's for about 3 years - what's to track? Northrup needs to get off her pedastal.

When moving back to town several years ago, I visited this Dr. a few times. When she discovered that I was a smoker, her demeanor completely changed with me, She was extremely rude and uncaring. I visited her with a bad chest cold and throat infection, she flat out refused to treat me and advised that I would have emphysema by my mid-thirties. My conditioned worsened over the next several days to the point that I had to got to the hospital for treatment. When asked by the attending physician why I had waited so long to seek care, I explained my visit with this Dr. and also her refusal to treat me. He was nearly as shocked as I was. I recovered and upon my next visit to Dr. Sharon, she clearly expressed her displeasure at me for going to the hospital. I never went to her again. My personal experience is, apart from being extremely unsympathetic with smokers, she was extremely rude. p.s. I am now 50 and not yet stricken with emphysema.

Dr Northrup was very rude and was trying to put her needs ahead of her patient's. Very bad bedside manner!!!

She is the best doctor around, I am so thankful that I have someone so talented to watch over my family. She makes me feel so comfortable and she is not afraid to laugh at those embarrasing moments in life! She delivered my first son and we are expecting our second child in March, and I cant wait, I have NEVER had a bad visit in that office not once! And for the couple of people that are complaining on here, shame on you, I dont think that you realize how bad you could have it. if 99% of us have great things to say, then that says something in its self, please appreciate what you have right in front of ya!!

Sharon is a wonderful person as well as doctor. She takes the time to listen to all of your problems even when she is very busy. She is loved by both of my children and has allways been available when I needed her help.

When It come to having to deal with mental health, I find she looks down on you like you are mental, she also talks to you as a child with her comments of ok ok like you don't understand her the first time, overall I have felt nothing but the worst of me and find myself going to after hour clinic's just to avoid feeling the way I do around my own family Doctor that I've seen since a child, you have been great to my parents and I thank you for It. I'm sorry that you do not understand the whole problems of people with off balanced brains,,,try to be more compationate with these problems and try to understand with learning....please as a Doctor

Dr.S Northorp is very knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. She is truly interested in my health. She explains in detail; often times taking the upmost care to ensure that I am ok. On one occasion she called me personally at home with some test results.She has great longevity in her office staff which leads me to believe that she takes good care of them.I find both staff members to be extremely professional.On occasion Dr Northorp will have Interns in her office...she appears to be an excellent teacher. I have been a patient of Dr S Northorp for 19 years, I consider myself to be fortunate to be blessed with such a kind caring Dr.

Dr. Sharon was my Doctor for years before I was married and then went on to deliver our first three children. Although the wait times were a bit long, she was WELL worth it! We moved to the Miramichi in 1998 but have left our files with her (just in case) She always had time for my concerns and her former receptionist, Patti, became a friend of our family. Her nurse, Joy, was always very friendly as well! Sharon's humour, compassion and knowledge made her one of my favourite doctors and I was blessed to have her for so many years!! Jennifer D.

I LOVE DR NORTHORP~!! She is our family doctor and ive been going to her since i was a kid! she is so sweet, down to earth, caring, intelligent.. and all around best doctor i have ever had in my life.. shes a busy lady and sometimes u gotta wait, but its worth it. she delivered my son and was GREAT! i would reccomend her to anyone. FANTASTIC!

Sharon Northorp has been my physician/saint for the past 16 years, she has absolutely gone beyond the call of duty for me. If I ever had to put my life in someone hands it would be her. She never misses a thing and I've seen her sooo busy, yet she would take the time to treat me as though I were her only patient. She has come through for me in unmentionable ways. I am notified about bone density test that are due, follow-ups, flu-shots, mamo's. Her staff/assistants are hand picked I am sure as they are as professional as she AND RESPECTFUL! She is my Angel! Kind, sympathetic, compassionate and thorough. Gentle, pleasant and kind. A gem right here in the Maritimes. I was a 35 yr heavy smoker, so was my husband. Our grown kids also smoked. She helped me kick the habit 5 years ago, husband followed 8 mos ago and so did our kids. She managed this feat with intelligence, knowledge and NOT BY NAGGING but by COMPASSION.

I absolutely love Dr. Sharon Northorp. Being a new mom and all she answers all my questions and makes me feel like I'm doing the best job in the world!! Also love the fact that I don't have to wait very long to see her as she always has med students working for her. They are all very nice too!! If anyone was looking for a family doctor or somebody to deliver their baby, I would highly recommend her.

Dr Northorp is one of the best....busy at most times, but is quick to refer you if she isn't sure of your diagnosis/problem. There have been a couple incidences where I've felt she rushed me through, but I'm still alive! With the doctor's shortage, it sometimes can't be helped. I've heard many others say their GP allows only one complaint per visit ( $$$$$) and they have to reschedule, not the case with Dr. Northorp. She's great with my kids as well.

Caring, intelligent, concerned, willing to refer,good followup,great continuity,listens,hears,acts. Have had excellent care. Terrific expertise in her field. Always going the extra mile. Works well with nursing staff, [I am an RN as well as her patient] She truly cares about me and it shows with every visit. I admire her greatly, and, feel very fortunate to have her as my physician.

Dr. Northorp has helped me many times with my ailments and always makes me feel I'm important and quickly refers me to a specialist when needed. She is rushed at times, but will listen to your suggestions or problems in detail and explain any procedure she schedules for you. I can't think of any other doctor that has treated me as well as her. I highly reccommend her for a knowledeable, competent and open minded Family Physcian.

I have been seeing Dr.Northorp for years.She delevered both my daughters and now treats them too.She gets to the heart of the problem quickly because she is so easy to talk to.I'm very happy to have her as my family doctor.

Sharon has been my doctor for over 20 years and now treats both my children. She is fabulous, easy to talk to, candid when necessary and always compassionate. Sharon asks many questions to get to the heart of the problem. I have heard other friends talk about their frustrations with a family doctor and have always felt blessed that I have Sharon as my doctor. Joy is also a true asset to that staff - always friendly and welcoming, asking how you've been. The only downfall is sometimes the excessive waiting for your appt but you must keep in mind that if you need to get in right away, you can - which is the reason appts can tend to fall behind. The previous receptionist was a darling but the new receptionist is a bit sullen and abrupt, especially when booking appts. I recommend Sharon to all my friends. She has great caring and patience - and she's extremely knowledgable too.

Sharon is a sweetheart, takes time to listen and understands your problem no matter how minor. If you are really in need of immediate attention, you will get an appointment. Her staff is excellent. Keep up the good works, Love you all.

Dr. Northrup is always there when I need her.. She is a caring and gentle person..She delivered my first grandchild and actually took the time to care for him when he was born rather than push everything on the over worked nurses..I do appreciate her and respect her with all my heart..Janice

She is swamped with work but still manages to be energetic and enthusiastic when she walks into the room. Is sometimes forced to rush abit (because she is so busy) but certainly provides exceptional care for her patients.

I have been going to Dr.Northrup since 1985. She has given me good and consistent health care and her office always manages to get you in on the same day when your feeling really unwell. She is pleasent, down to earth and easy to talk to. I am happy to be in her practice!
