5/11/12 | 4 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr.Buchko performed Arthroscopic surgery on my knee for a torn meniscus. I went in for my consultation and was scheduled for surgery 2 weeks later. Surgery went well and the recovery was even better. I went to the gym 1 month after surgery and was back to playing soccer fulltime 3 months after surgery. 3/25/12 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Buchko and his assistant Roberta are fabulous! Saw him for a consultation, then surgery, and one post-op visit so far. Each time I'm asked if I have any questions or concerns. Dr. Buchko is very efficient and does not use big medical terms to explain things. I had my surgery (ACL revision & HTO) early morning, he checked in to see how I was feeling that afternoon, then twice the following day. Very impressive! | Respond |

8/30/10 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Thank you Dr. Bushko for the excellent tendon repair that you did on my right elbow. The staff are terrific, and he was so friendly and professional. I had suffered for a year and a half in Calgary, physio, etc with not great results. Finally an MRI showed that I have a small tear which turned out to be tons and tons of scar tissue that had also built up. I finally was referred to Dr. Bushko. He did the operation in a couple of months, it would have taken me over a year in Calgary and I use my right arm constantly in my job. I am still in the healing phase but it is coming along nicely, even the scar looks great. Thank you so much again DR. Bushko. The drive to Banff is so worth it!!! | Respond |

4/12/10 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Buchko was absolutely fabulous.My 12 year old son had a complete torn ACL and meniscus.Currently in Alberta there are no pediatric Orthopedic surgeons that do reconstructive surgery. We were looking at having to go to Vancouver for surgery.After explaining my predicament to his office,Dr. Buchko agreed to consult on my son. After reviewing him,he agreed to perform the surgery.The surgery was a success,the rehab. time has been considerably less than normal, even for a child. The surgical site is clean , well approximated . Never had any issues with infection.Dr. Buchko and his staff are very attentive, considerate and knowledegable.I found Dr. Buchko to be very professional and respectful towards his patients.The follow-up on my son has been awesome which sometimes is where doctors tend to drop the ball but NOT in this case.Without a doubt the best all around Orthopedic specialist in Alberta. | Respond |

He made the experience very easy to deal with and before my surgery was easy to talk to and answered my questions with out having any concern going into surgery. | Respond |

8/26/09 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Buchko performed surgery on my left rotator cuff in 2005. He was incredible, both before, during ( I was awake for it) and after surgery. Now that I require right rotator cuff surgery, even though now I live 1100 km from his office, there is no question as to which surgeon I choose: Dr. Buchko, of course! He is focused, direct, highly skilled, and at the top of his game for both patient care and knowledge. His staff is nothing short of brilliant and extremely accomodating. Office visits move forward on time. All in all, an experience that restores my faith in the Canadian medical system! | Respond |

I had a double compound fracture skiing in Banff Feb 28th/09 and I was walking with full weight by April 26th. He is incredible! He's the only guy I will let me if I need an orthopedic surgeon. His Banff staff are great- I make the drive there for appts, rather than deal with the Calgary staff, who, as others have said, are less than stellar. Virtually pain free and two weeks post-surgery I already have better mobility in the joint than for months before. Kind doctor, Roberta in the office very helpful and good nurses. If you get the surgery, get the recommended cryo-cuff too to minimize swelling - well worth the money. | Respond |

However, the staff at his Calgary office is rude and inefficient and I drove all the way to Banff for some appointments that lasted about 2 minutes and he didn't even really look at me. It may have been a routine procedurem to him but surgery is not a minor thing for a patient. | Respond |

I was away from my regular physician while recovering and any Doctor I saw said what a great job my Surgeons did on my feet. Roberta at the Office was fantastic too. She showed a great deal of care. I am so greatful for them as well as Mineral Springs for all the care they gave to me and for the help they provided me Mom. I have never encountered a Hospital where a Nurse would drive my Mother to a Pharmacy to get pain killers for me after surgery. Everyone went beyond the call of duty. Got me in within 3 weeks for my surgery and although it was a complicated procedure, he did a great job. It is totally healed with no pain! He also did a scope on my knee that finally got rid of the problems that had plagued me for years. My knee has been great ever since. | Respond |

Dr. Buchko operated on my broken leg; days later another Dr x-rayed my leg after I complained of significant pain, that Dr said that the bone would have to be rebroken if I were to walk on it again... AND I would need a fasciotomy to avoid foot drop (compartment syndrome is very painful)! DO NOT bring your broken bones to that guy. Drive the extra hour to Calgary - it could save your life as you know it. | Respond |
