Have been his patient since he started. No complaints EVER.

He was my family doctor since I was young. I was with him up until I moved provinces. Would I recommend him? No. In his prime he was decent, I especially liked him when he was at his old office that was by Pizza Hut. (I miss that building. It was a good health centre). I had a lot of issues from my teen years onwards with him. Had mono really bad and he diagnosed me with an ear and throat infection and gave meds. Had I not made my mom take me to emerg at 4:30 in the morning 2 days later when meds weren't working I would have been admitted to the hospital due to severe dehydration and fever. It was awesome. Whenever I needed something addressed it felt like I needed to know what was wrong with me for him to do anything. Imo he needs to retire and has needed to for years. My mother has had so many issues with medications that have been prescribed to her for things without consulting her current meds first to make sure she'd be able to take them. Her pharmacy more than once saved her. If you have the option, find a different doctor.

I have been going to Dr. Spano since the late 1980's. He is an awesome doctor and always has been. He listens to your issues and he sends you for all the necessary tests when warranted. He also has a great sense of humour which I like. It makes it fun going to the doctor. I hope he never retires , even though that wouldn't be fair to him, because I can't imagine having anyone else for a doctor! He is concerned about your health issues, deals with them, and is very easy to talk to.

I've had Dr Spano since I was a teenager, I have had no problems with Dr Spano, and staff are amazing. I've always do my homework before going in to make things go faster and easier, as our Dr's can't read our minds, Like I expect them to lol. With the shortage of physicians we should all do are part, they are so over worked.

Only useful to write prescriptions and referrals. Dangerous lack of attention to detail. Asks every visit to sell me pneumonia or shingles vaccine, OHIP pays but not until 65, before that patient pays directly. He has had me on anti inflammatory medication for 10 years that requires regular blood testing but has never told me that or requested testing. My new pharmacist noticed and suggested the testing, asked this “doctor” who said “I guess” then sarcastically asked what other testing I wanted. I said I don’t know you tell me, so he added a pea test. It was positive. Thankfully my pharmacist is paying attention and it was addressed. Do NOT expect that this Dr will provide you healthcare unless you are very aware of what you need and when you need it.

Dr Spano has been my doctor since I was 6 years old. I am now almost 47. He is a wonderful doctor, has a great attitude and has always made me feel very comfortable. Please read the name, this is for Dr J Spano, not his son Frank. I believe a lot of others are not reviewing the correct doctor here.

Dr. J. Spano is the top of the class in patient care. His staff goes out of their way to be helpful. Best of the best when you walk in the door.

Horrible doctor. Has not been seeing patients in person since the beginning of COVID, only over the phone, regardless of condition. His staff also didn’t seem to care when you explain why you need to see him. Had no problem filling out forms for you and charging an arm and a leg throughout this crisis though.

Been going to him for years . Friendly ,relax atmosphere .
