11/7/08 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | This man recently performed a total hip replacement on me. He took the time to fully explain everything to me and what to expect prior to the surgery. I've heard a lot of people tell me about the pain they've experienced following this surgery. I can honestly say that I've never experienced any pain since I came out of the recovery room that came close to that I had when I went into the hospital. I found him very good to talk to and would answer any question or concern I had. It's only been four and a half weeks since my surgery, but I feel my recovery is coming along very well. James Paton is very lucky to have such a brilliant surgeon and I would certainly recommend this doctor to anyone needing his services. | Respond |

He is also exceptionally patient, understanding and very pleasant. He will also consider alternate treatment options instead of surgery if he believes it may help. 1/9/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | This is the best doctor I have dealth with, other then my family doctor. Dr. Van Heerden cares for his patients the way a doctor should care for them. After dealing with GFW with an ankle fracture for over a month, they finally sent me to a REAL doctor in Gander to fix my ankle. GFW hospital don't have the knowledge to put on casts or to line up a fracture. But Dr. Van Heerden and his staff are wonderful people. The guys in the cast room joke around with you and make your visit a comfortable one. Every trip there was a quick one and not hrs of waiting. Xray dept is even quick with their patients. When I had my cast done, I was in and out in less then an hour. Talk about fast and friendly service. If only GFW hospital could learn something from the Gander Hospital! | Respond |
