I just wanted to comment back after 2 years from the "lumpy saggy mess" that Bittner & his team caused me so much agony from-- Finally I got brave enough to have some revision work done by a wonderful doctor where I now live-- so far so good & what a vastly different experience compared to recovery time-- I was only a little bit sore like after a work out (they used a procedure called "Bodyjet" that utilizes water). I highly recommend finding someone experienced with this if you have been damaged from "bad" lipo by Bittner & his staff.

Doctor's staff was helpful initially and somewhat punctual. After the procedure, however, they were not. This particular doctor never mentioned any post-operative appointments, which as a first time patient for cosmetic surgery, I didn't know what the normal protocol was. I later learned this really effected the appearance on my abdomen. Because there was zero emphasis on post-operative appointments to the doctor's office, I now have a crease in my abdomen that was the result of this doctor's office putting a too tight garment on me after surgery with the combination of taking out too much fat in my abdomen. The doctor didn't perform my surgery, it was more of the assistants work and I didn't even see the doctor until the very end of the procedure. After numerous appointments at other plastic surgeons offices who do corrective surgery, I have now had to spend thousands more dollars on corrective surgery after what this doctor has done to me. Do your research is all i ask!

I have two comments: one for the "picky" attorney and the other for the poster who is outrageously demeaning to another patients poor experience. For the attorney: this physician has a documented history of false advertising, poor medical care, sued by the California Medical Board and San Fran D.A. office. What kind of research did you do?!!! Not to mention the even more serious recent raid by the medical board and the feds. To the poster whose posts denegrate a former patient of this physician... what are you thinking? To give her name on a public board like this should not be allowed. I am not likely to take this site as professional (don't they screen people like you?!!!)

Horrible experience and results. It seems that after his office was raided he fled the country. You can subscribe to this blog and get updates sent to you: http://drbittnerpatient.wordpress.com/ There is also a website with horrible pictures and REAL interesting information. It seems that comments here and on other boards are about 50/50. Not good odds. A GOOD doctor should only have an RARE unsatisfied patient angry enough to "share." Also, my education is in psychology, and I have to agree that most of the "fantastic" posts do seem FAKE. LOL, as far as the "actor(s)" go; GET REAL! Funny, "the actor's sites" sites seem to have popped up after the site above was published. AND, they are made by the same guy that Dr. B uses to make his websites and Myspace page. Yeah, that doesn't look fishy at all! I guess he has made a career out of thinking that there are enough stupid people in the world to make him rich. Maybe not so many now that people are speaking up, finally! Reported to IRS?

You know what is so funny- they say that they have no other centers. Not true, they have a location in Irivine called Lipospecialists. You can go to http://kepler.ss.ca.gov/list.html and type in Lipospecialists and SUPRISE the doctors girlfriend pops up as the person listed. If you call the Beverly Hills office they will tell you otherwise: it's public record hello! Not to mention one of the doctors from Beverly Hills is working in Irvine. Don't believe it; he is mentioned in below as Dr. Rolins. Something is not right here. If you go to cbs2.com and type in beverly hills raid you will also see that the office was raided by the medical board last week. NOW WHY WOULD THEY DO THAT?

There was little waiting time, his PA team members Phil and Johnny within moments of my arrival walked me into the, I guess I can say surgery room, but it felt more like a walk in the park, or with the “laughing gas” hanging with friends in a pub.
Dr. Bittner soon arrived a few moments later. He was very kind, slow, and clear with what his expectations were and what I should expect.
Okay, let’s talk about the discomfort, I really can’t call it PAIN because it wasn’t painful at ALL, the right word is uncomfortable, at times, but a lot less bothersome than getting deep cleaning for your teeth or filling a cavity, no joking, I couldn’t believe it either!
About fifteen minutes later Dr. Bittner came back into the room and did what he said was the “clean up” to make sure the job was done right. DR. Bittner really took his time and pinched my sides over and over again to, as he said, to make sure my body was even.
I would recommend Dr. Bittner to anyone….. AMAZING TEAM!

Since May of 2008 I have gone to Dr. Bittner four different times, each time having from one to four different areas treated. Almost my entire body has been countoured by Dr. Bittner and his amazing team. After carrying twins full term, having a weight problem my entire life, and having a degnerated disc in my back . . . I spent every day of my life depressed about my weight. I had been on a diet since the age of 10 and now I am approaching 40! I cannot even tell you what a miracle this entire experience has been for me. I have never looked or felt SO good. Dr. Bittner and his staff are totally down to earth, PROFESSIONAL and personable. The pain is not bad - (I could hide my recovery so nobody except my husband & a few friends I told, abt my procedures. He exceeded my expectations each time with his ability to beautifully contour my body and the amount of fat that he was able to remove FOREVER. I even had my breasts reduced by 50 - and there are no lumps! Bittner = A+

I pray there were some way to get all future patients of Dr. Craig Alan Bittner to read this website. My stomach is lumpy and has swirly patterns. My adit marks are still quite visible after more than a year. If you're hoping to get a bikini figure, you might get the figure but you'll never be able to wear a bikini. I see that the website has been changed to show that PA's do the surgery. Please know that they are not supervised by Dr. Bittner-he's in his office counting your...oops, I mean his money. Please go to this woman's website - www.mydralanbittnerstory.com. Everything she says is true-the procedure is terribly painful, you will leak and bleed for days, you CANNOT drive yourself home and the staff won't allow you to, regardless of what they advertise. I am glad people are starting to sue Dr. Bittner, I am sorry he is opening up all over CA-he will leave so many miserable patients in his wake. I have no doubt the good comments posted here are posted by Mrs. Bittner-poor woman.

I too had an appointment with Dr. Bittner September 2008, but decided to research him more and cancelled immediately. The office gave me vague answers to my questions and seemed irritated. I particularly wanted to know why pre-op testing was not required and I wanted a promise that he would do my surgery not PA's. I went to the plastic surgery institute in beverly hills and my surgery was done by Dr. Eric Hu who is excellent. I had preop testing done first, I was given antibiotics to take one day prior to surgery and the office was extremely professional. They put your health first over just making more money.
their website is below.

Dr. Bittner's staff seems to be posting on these boards as "happy patients." So....Am I unhappy and just want to bash the doc? OR..Am I a real person who found SO much wrong that I took the time to make a website? Want to see the photos and hear the story that Dr.B WON'T put on his site? http://www.mydralanbittnerstory.com I just had my FOURTH CORRECTIVE SURGERY 2 days ago wiht another doctor..and we still aren't finished!

I went to see Dr. Bittner about 2 months ago and I am so glad I did! First I have to say that I read all the things other patients had to say and you really have to take it with a grain of salt. I was scheduled to have a ton work done and ended up only having by belly and muffin tops done. I was so frustrated that I couldn't get everything done but I was so happy that Dr. Bittner and his staff were so honest with me. They told me flat out that it would be a waste of money for such a little change- thank you so much! I don't remember a lot but I know that Trevor had me in complete hysterics for reasons I don't know. It has only been about 60 days but I can see such a huge improvement in my waistline and in the way my pants fit. Everyone was so great to me before and after my procedure; I must have called the office 2 times a day with crazy questions but the staff was always so willing to help me. I love Dr. Bittner and his staff; they are wonderful!

My daughter went to Dr. Bittner 7 months ago for lipo in the abdominal area and we would never go back for several reasons. First, although the staff seems friendly, it truly is a front. Once you start expressing concerns about your results (my daughter is uneven, scarred, and hardly any smaller)things turn ugly. Stephanie got down right nasty with me in an email. Secondly, my daughter endured extreme pain during and after the procedure which they portray as "minor." Third, Dr. Bittner really doesn't have much to do with your procedure at all, its his "staff" that does EVERYTHING. The RECEPTIONIST even took it upon herself to answer my medical questions when I expected a response from Dr. Bittner! When we went to see Dr. Bittner 3 months postop to address our concerns over her lack of results, he talked over us and insisted she had "great" results before flying out the door. I could go on, but I'll just end by saying... SOME people could be happy with BH Lipo, it certainly wasn't us!

I very highly recommend Dr Bittner and hs entire office. They were professional at all times. I had my lower and upper abdomen, arm pit rolls and neck sculpted seven months ago and he and Trevor did a fabulous job. Johnathan treated me wonderfully also. I feel very comfortable with my body and am told by others how great I look. I would go back to Dr. Bittner, Trevor and Johnathan in a moment.

I was shocked at the treatment I GOT , his staff that stephaie was rude and when I tried to cross question her, she said sarcastically for me to go to mexico to get my surgery. So unprofessional! on another note she wrote me a rude email in response to my inquiring further investigation regarding my upcoming procedure as if she was 'hiding' SOMETHING. The testimonals are planted and most liposuction are photshop edited patients as in real they have horrid outcomes! never never go to this fraudulent team. The staff is very friendly and polite b/c they are ' putting out a trap for you"...wait till you pay ! you'll have to deal with that **** stephaie and alan bittner would disspaer and not answer phones. BEWARE! BEWARE!

First this doctor did not even perform the procedure a PA did everything, he walked into the room for about 1 minute. I am lumpy all over and I went and spoke to another plastic surgeon and before I even mention Dr. Bittner's name he asked me if I was a patient of his. The staff was nice they were on time and my body is a mess, who cares about how nice everyone might have been. This doctor should not be able to practice....actually he has hung a shingle and PA's are performing the procedure. Do not be seduced by the price or the web-site it is not the experience I had. Save your money and go to a doctor who you have seen his work. This is a production facility and he is running more than one procedure at a time. I will be putting in a complaint to the Medical Board.

I am 3 months out of my abdomen, love handles and breast liposculpture. I barely had bruising on my breasts and hardly any oozing from the adits. My love handles and abdomen bruised just as I was told they would.I flew in to California on a Thursday nite, had surgery Friday morning and returned home Saturday evening. I was back at work on Monday. The worst parts were the garments for me and the itching that accompanied the healing. I love that my breasts have been reduced by 33% and that I do not have love handles anymore. I was back at the gym the week after. I used a few of the drugs they gave me on Friday, but that was it. I am not completely satisfied with my abdomen but I love how the other procedures turned out. I still have 3 months to go, but if I am not satisfied I will contact Dr Bittner and see what he can do. The connective tissue is still lumpy and it feels like I have a 1.5 inch rubber band across my abdomen. Hopefully, it will get better. I am optimistic!

I had full abdominal lipo done here and am paying the price for being so hasty. What a mess he left. It has been 7 months, and I am so lumpy and disproportionate and look like I have a donut around my belly button. I am now going to a certified PS to fix this mess. I am embarrassed and sad I succumbed to my "instant vanity" fix. Please look to a real professional. I didn't even mention what a joke the ad says that you can go back to work right away! I could pick up my own children for over a month!

I'm not giving my opinion here, but facts. I went in yesterday and to my surprise, this guy did the whole procedure for me. I was on what they called the "laughing gas", which made me feel like I drank 10 tequilas or dropping 2 ecstacy pills. However, I can still think at that time. Anyway, it's no wonder why I can hear few "vacuuming" sounds at the same time when there's only one dr. alan bittner. I don't mind others perform on me, but at least let me know he wasn't doing it himself. I know that liposuction is not a huge surgery, but still can have complications. I hope results are good. One more thing, even though I do know that smokers can't smoke 2 weeks before and after surgery, I was never told that. As for the taking care of the wounds, you need to read their instructions on this paper they give you afterwards. haha

Dr. Bittner and his team are PHENOMENAL!!! I have been to 4 other BH surgeons for various procedures, and have now been to Dr. Bittner 3 times for legs, arms and torso. He's amazing, taking very good care of me, addressing any concerns, correcting any imperfections, and he does an amazing job sculpting my body. Trevor performed the majority of my last 2 procedures, and I just adore him! He does an extremely thorough job and makes the procedure virtually painless. My last surgery was this past Thursday, and Trevor had me dying laughing through the entire thing! And I am soooooo happy to say I have a body like a barbie doll now! I never thought my waist could be so small! And they fixed the weird "shelf" I had on my upper butt area. In addition, they did the SmartLipo Laser treatment on the loose skin in my upper thigh... I can already see incredible results (and I think lazers are generally bogus!). I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Bittner to anyone considering lipo- he'll change your life!!!

To those of you reading these postings, like Trevor said, take it with a grain of salt. I went to Dr. Bittner in January to have some areas around my hips, thighs & lovehandles taken care of that have bothered me for years. Dr. Bittner was straight up with me about things like "marbles" & that every persons outcome is different. I question the people who say they have issue with the results, because where are they in their recovery time? I am 5 months post surgery & I still have areas that are hard & a bit swollen. He told me it would take 6 months to heal & possibly longer. Overall I am happy with the results, especially the areas I hated the most, but I know that I still have some healing. Dr. Bittner fully warned me about possible outcomes. Also, what people eat, the amount of exercise they get, as well as how their bodies react to the surgery & healing are factors. So since everyone is different, the results will vary. Think about it folks and do your homework!

I am a actor ( not a professional waiter). My income actually comes from on camera appearance. Dr. Bittner exceeded my expectations. His staff meet with me explained the procedure in depth. I had visited many other doctos including one on Dr. 90210 and non of them treated me like his staff did. I booked the procedure and everything was smooth. Yes the procedure is a little uncomfortable but the staff is so caring. I got a little freaked out late that night when I felt to swollen ( typical actor hypochondria) and called the office number. Stephanie the office manager immediatley called me back and reassured me that it was all normal. I thought I would be given the cold shoulder for calling so late but I was still treated with the utmost of care and respect. Now you are proably saying this is because he is an actor. They had ( Dr Bittner office) had no clue as I mainly work on international commercials and films due to my ethnicity. In closing I had a wonderful experience and results!!!

My name is Trevor Schmidt, and I’d like to respond to this post in my role as a Physician Assistant working for Dr. Bittner. A PA is a licensed medical practitioner who works under the direction and supervision of a medical doctor, and performs procedures and other work at the doctor’s direction. In the procedures we perform, Dr. Bittner does the sculpting, the artistic piece of the process. I (and other physician assistants) perform the initial “de-bulking” under his direction, which is the strenuous work of removing the majority of the fat. This part actually involves hard, physical labor. Dr. Bittner monitors our work and then does the finetuning; making sure all of the work is up to his standards and performing the more intricate portion of the liposculpture procedure. It’s impossible to make everyone happy with their outcomes, especially with something as personal as cosmetic surgery. I’d urge anyone reading posts like some of the above, to take it with a grain of salt.

Oh dear God... I went for an inner thigh consult and tummy bulge. 6 months later, I have a disfigured abdomen(I used to wear bikinis and had the tan lines for the consult). I look as though someone put 10000 marbles under my skin and I have so many adhesions, I cannot do my yoga. thanks for NOT telling me that could happen!!

All doctors in the US have a "Physician & Surgeons Licences", but it doesn't mean all are surgeons. Dr. Craig Alan Bittner changed his name to Alan Bittner after being sued by the Medical Board of California for running a fraudulant radiology company, Ameriscan. He can't get a job know as a radiologist, so he's pretending to be a plastic surgeon. Why would anyone go see a Radiologist for plastic surgery in the first case? Would you ask your dermatologist to perform your cardiac bypass surgery?

He and his staff (Jonathon) mutilated my neck. I am perminantly disfigured. They operated on me when I woke up from being overdosed by Dr. Bittner himself and started screaming in pain. His non-medical staff with no licenses continued to cut into me while aI screamed and begged them to stop, then moved me into a room with a TV and turnd up the volumn. When I wouldn't stop screaming Dr. Bittner ran in and declared me "done." My entire abdomen is massively distorted and my neck has been perminatly dysfigured. The peopel claimgin gto have had "great results" frmom him are plants.. his staff and his wife. I advise you to avoid this man or you may have to look forward to gettign an HIV and Hep test like I do. He cuts so many corners and takes so many willful risks with the lives of those who trust him that you'd be a fool to go to him.

I'm sorry but, Dr Bittner left my previously smooth, sexy belly & waistline (although it needed a bit of trimming) lumpy and dented. I am having huge regrets for choosing this clinic.I live in Hawaii where bikinis are the every day way of life, and now that's over for me. I feel so disappointed and ashamed. The "sculpting" was not well done! Even the adit placement was just so sloppy- asymetrical and obvious. This was after I specifically asked that the incisions be strategically placed below my tan lines. He also lipoed my chin, and without my permission or consent, removed fat from my face!! There is now a dent in my right cheek. When I asked to speak to Dr Bittner following the surgery, he was in absolutely in no way available to answer my questions or address my concerns. I wouldn't even think of going back for a "repair". I had liposculpture done 10 years previously with an excellent, caring cosmetic surgeon in Miami. I am kicking myself now for making such a big mistake this time.

My first clue should have been that he has a staff of assistants who do all the consults. I never even met him till I came for surgery! I was promised that he would take care of any problems afterward. He REFUSED to even try. I came out with horrible lumps all over. I have had to go to another doctor and pay to have the problems corrected. Also, he talked me into an additional procedure after sedating me, there was NO change in this area at all! I asked what area each procedure covered and none of the areas were done completely. Dishonest, sloppy, unethical. A lipo chop-shop! Really nice people before you pay your money..after...ugh!

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Bittner and his staff. I just had the lipo done on 1/18/07 for my inner and outer thighs. I'm just thrilled and sitting at my desk working today! Dr. Bittner personally phoned me to see how I'm doing, and that was after he had already e-mailed to check in on me. I did extensive homework on lipo over the last 3 years or so, and originally, I opted not to do it. I didn't want to be put under anesthesia, and it seemed too risky a procedure just because I wasn't thrilled with the legs I was born to have. Then, about 7 months ago, I began checking on it again after hearing about all the new forms of getting rid of the fat. I did my homework on that too, and decided that I'd rather have the fat completely removed in one shot rather than going for several sessions of having stuff (who knows what it is) injected into my body. And, no guarantee! This is the best decision I could have made! I love the lipo and Dr. Bittner's entire office!

He did an awesome job and after looking up every doctor on line before our first procedures, I am even more convinced we chose the right Dr. His results are amazing and we would both recommend him to anyone espicially if you're a perfectionist like we are.

I have had two lipo surgeries by Dr. Bittner and I adore him and his staff. I had a VERY GOOD experience with him and my results are outstanding and smooth. The recovery was easy and I was back at work on Monday no problem. I fell asleep for the procedure (thank you Xanax!), so I dont remember if it was as weird as the person below says. He was on time and very knowledgable. I think he probably knows everything there is to know about lipo since its the only freaking thing he does all day. My only complaint is that they dont have free parking.

It's been a few months since my chin liposculpture procedure and I can honestly say that I'm thrilled with the results. It was worth every penny. I am so much happier now when I look in the mirror, superficiality be damned. In terms of my experience: I interacted more with Dr. Bittner's assistant, Stephanie, than with Bittner himself, but both were kind (esp. Stephanie) and skilled. I will say that the procedure itself was a scarier/freakier than I anticipated: after being numbed, small incisions are made on the sides of your neck, then tubes are aggressively pushed through your cheek/chin/neck fat to "tumesce" it with liquid (you feel and look like a chipmunk at this point--awful), then, the canulas are inserted and it's as if someone is drilling into your face. There's no pain, but it is uncomfortable, and I think the drilling sound and the vibrations on your neck are the worst part. Then you wear a gimp-like head harness for two days. If you can deal w/ all of that, then go for it.

I've been in the very capable hands of Dr. Alan Bittner or Craig Alan Bittner on two separate occasions. I'm ecstatic with my experience and results. FALSE ADVERTISING? You people act as if he's killed someone and hid the body! The good doctor was very up front with me about my expectations. I traveled from another state twice...because I was so impressed with his team as well as his professionalism. Looking through the blogs, it sounds like all hell broke out because of an email war of words. It sickens me to think his reputation is now besmirched over something so petty.

Had a consultation with this doctor. He was very rushed. Found out later he is board certified in radiology - not plastic surgery. He used to go by Craig Bittner and then changed his name to use his middle name Alan. If you search for Dr. Craig Bittner, you find out some interesting things.

Terrible experience with this liposuction doctor. He would not correct his very irregular tummy he left me with. I now find out form my brother who is a lawyer that he is a Radiologist!
