My first encounter with Dr. Jackman was truly wonderful. I had been having an ongoing issues and he was genuinely concerned (allergy-related). He did not once look at his watch. He seemed truly concerned about my well being. My return to Dr. Jackman's office was not so wonderful. I was given an ultimatum - either take these anti-depressants, or he may advise EI (I was on sick benefits at the time) that I was not following medical advice, which could result in the loss of my benefits. I advised that I thought taking pills of that nature were a little premature. I suggested other avenues, each time getting shut down. Instead I was handed 4 boxes of samples and walked out the door. When I moved apartments, my allergy issue went away. I never saw Dr. Jackman again.

Dr. Jackman was worth the wait. He was sympathetic to my running injury and was keen to get me back on marathon training schedule as soon as we possibly could! Very refreshing!

Dr. Jackman was my Mom's Dr. and she loved him. My Mom had cancer and I took care of her at the end of her life. When I was worried I called him and he came over to the house and examined my Mom and gave me advice on her care. I am not sure if there are too many Drs around that would be so caring. Dr. Jackman certainly made myself and my Mom feel at ease.

Wonderful caring doctor. Spends time on cell phone trying to get things done for his patients. We are under a stressed system . He goes the extra mile rather than push people in and out.

Very knowledgable, informative and active in his patients healthcare. Has a proactive approach to medicine that is often lacking in his older collegues.

Dr. Jackman is a new time doctor who does not have the compasion of the old time docs and that is something that comes with time. But, a doctor needs people skills. Him using his cell phone during a appointment is rude and completely unprofessional. He also does not like being chalanged on his advise. I questioned him on a issue and he actually got sulky about it. I know that people are the ones who know there body best so a doctor needs to listen to their patients consider everything before making a diagnous. When I go to see him I have to take a list with me because he can be distracting when ihe is going on about his life and his problems. Many times I have left there and realized we did not even solve my problem. He has even messed up my prescriptions. At least my pharmasist has his head on straight. I would not recommend him to anyone. He needs to resolve all his problems and get some bedside manor.

I was a patient under Dr. Murphy, who then sold his share in the practice to Dr. Walker, who then shared his practice to Dr. Jackman. I always have a hoot going to see him - as the man is as manic as they come. I enjoy that he shares his life with me as much as I share mine and I feel comfortable with him. I've known his to be a bit of a drug pusher with some patients, but hasn't been so with me. Very knowledgeable and willing to send you to a specialist. Fairly easy to get into to. Wait times are killer, but thats because he spends a long time with each patient. He shouldn't carry his cell phone with him, nor should he answer calls from home. I recommend him to anyone who just needs a GP to take care of routine stuff. For that case he really is worth seeing.

Poor Paul Jackman M.D.(A hard act to follow), Had big shoes to fill when Steve Walker M.D.,decided to sell him his well established practice.Unfortunately for Dr.Jackman and his wife this was the cure to their home-sickness,as the purchase was not a long drawn out negotiation seeing as the poor chap bolted from the good old U.S.A.,(Ohio).Little did he know in regards to Walkers approach towards all of his patients with the utmost resounding and articulate attention that he always instilled.I have also had similar occurences with Dr.Jackman as others. Before I conclude it is fair to mention that this man is a very good person, and in a less than perfect world he should accept his flaws, and concentrate on his main focus when at work, that being the honest due-dilligence re:patients health concerns, and leave the cell phone in his shoe where all smart types do.My point here is soley to only try and help him to accept and change.Otherwise Paul is a gracious man and a very competent doctor.

I went to this guy for a year or so. Every single visit I had to wait at least an hour after my scheduled appointment time before seeing him, and then I was lucky to be face to face with him for more than 5 minutes. If I wanted to disucss more than one thing, he wanted me to book another appointment. Always pushing free samples, etc. Prescribed 28 day BCPs when I requested the same 21 day packs I've been using for years - to increase profits for the drug cos, I wonder? I found his manner to be insincere, and I doubted his judgement, which is why I switched to someone else.

This guy is holier than "anyone" and lets everyone know it. His wife has even interupted office visits and walked in ahead of patients in waiting room. Cell phone takes priority everytime.Continually talks about himself, family and anyone else that happens to pop into his head. You can hear the goings on in other examination rooms next to each other.Long term patient, and physicaly examined me only about five times in that span. Never under an hour to wait to see him, even at the first appointment. Left to wait for him to catch up on paper work, especially if you're the only one left to see him. Finally on the first opportunity to get another family doctor, I jumped at it and have never been happier.

Never on time and I think he is in the wrong profession. If you like listening to your doctor ramble on and on about issues other than your health than I suggest you go see him. Also be prepared for him to answer his cell phone while he is supposed to be discussing your concerns. I actually had that happen once and I sat there for 5 minutes while he talked to his wife on the phone. If I could switch doctors I would.

Punctuality is poor because he so passionate.I feel comforted by his knowledge as he continues with his education and has a desire to keep updated on medical issues, however, he feels the need to share all that with you, thus the punctuality issue!

More concerned with his research and his own stories than listening to his patients. Relies on book knowledge and tests rather than direct interaction with the patient. In the past 3 years he physically touched me once and has not examined me at all - not even with a stethoscope or blood pressure monitor.

If you have an afternoon to kill, and you can ignore his massive ego, I guess he's a decent physician.
