Only talks politely to those she likes, the rest get sarcasam, that's if your lucky to get her in a good mood, which swings several times in the run of a day! Bullies her staff, ever wonder why there's such a quick turn-a-round with receptionists and testers? She has no people skills. It's a shame Moncton has to lose yet another doctor but, in this case, don't let the door hit you on your way out!! If only she was as good as she thinks she is.

We have been seeing this Dr. for 3 years now and this has been our experience. My daughter starting feeing ill in November 2006. We had seen 4 other Drs before Dr. Hurst. Within a month my daughter's weight had fallen to 88lbs. The others were telling me my daughter had anorexia but I knew this was not the case. We saw Dr. Hurst for the first time on Dec 6/2006. Dr. Hurst arranged an emergency MRI on December 7, 2006th. My daughter had a 9cm brain tumor. Pathology determined the tumor to be glioblastoma. Dr. Hurst has called me from her home at night and on weekends just to see how we were doing. She taught me how to understand my daughter's blood counts and how to calculate her ANC. She taught me how to give her neupogen shots. She looked all over the world for a suitable treatment for my daughter and thanks to her my daughter is still here today. I know she has a heart because she has cried infront of us. I cannot say enough about this Dr.

This doctor is an insecure bully who needs to put others down to make herself feel important. She is rude to everyone: patients, families, staff and colleagues. She can put on a charming facade when she wants something but she shows no genuine warmth for her patients. I am surprised that people are still seeking her services but I guess when you have an ADHD child as I do, you try whatever you can. I would advise people to look for someone else. Her advice is not helpful and her disrespect for everyone is hard to take.

this is the worst doctor in Moncton, bar none. Why are people still going is beyond me....but ignore her friends that write good messages and listen to all the noise about her lack of compassion, attention and bedside manners.....do yourself a favor and ask for someone else. She doesn't deserve our medicare dollars.

I have had my child to this doctor for the last few years and found her to be moody, rude, intimidating and unprofessional at times but I kept going b/c I felt that she knew what she was doing and wanted my child to have the best medical care. Recently we had an appointment with her for a "routine" ADHD test. There was a mix up with the Pharmacie that we use and they were saying that we were not filling the perscriptions for my child for @ 6 months. I told them that this was false but regardless this didn't potray me as a parent in a very good light. The whole office assumed to believe something that was not true. Needlesstosay, the pharmacie was filing the perscriptions under an old perscription # (old file #). I had the pharmacie fax the mistake to the doctor. If this can happen to me then rest assure that this can happen to you. I do not expect appologies from either the doc or the pharmacie, but I will say this....I WILL NOT BE BACK TO THIS DOC FOR ANY REASON. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!

I've been seeing Dr. Hurst for 3 years now...and I think she is fabulous. Very caring and loving. My boys Ben & Sam adore her. And kids know best...She is very personal with us and I can feel she cares. I don't like the circumstances of how we met but I am glad our paths crossed.

Starting off with a good comment, she knows her stuff but that's all I can say good about her. Otherwise, her patients don't know her behind closed doors they only see her either in a good mood or a bad one. Well her staff saw her regularly in a bad mood, she is mentally and verbally abusive to her staff on a regular basis. The ones that seen the good side of her caught her on a good day. She is very smart when it comes to knowing her stuff but she is a mean person with no respect for anyone. I really don't want to stoop to her level so saying anymore would be wrong. So to the patients that have her and think she's great, good luck and hopefully you don't catch her on one of those bad days.

She is a great doctor, and a wonderful person with children. I think the people who write about her in a negative way are most likely the same people that would say the Santa Claus is a child predator. People should take a long look at themselves before throwing stones.

This woman is a legend, a legend in her own mind. I oftened wondered what happened to this doctor. I thought for sure she was at the bottom of the ocean with help from a small community. When I came across this site I see she's in Canada. I will pray for you all. I work in a local US hospital and in the short time she was here Dr Hurst created the worst morale in our department that I could ever have imagined. To the point that if she hadn't left I was later told would have been asked to leave.

She is very immature and unprofessional. Acts like nurses are 2nd class citizens and since she's the big, smart doctor, that she can ignore anyone else's ideas including what may be best for the child. Once we left her to go to another doctor, she saw us at Peds one time and was severely RUDE, who does that to a parent when they're at peds with their sick CHILD?? Unbelievably unprofessional. I agree with the lot that say she flips back and forth between moods...from sweet to sour to put it very, very mildly.

I'm shocked with a lot of these reviews! My son has been seeing her for the last 6years, and we love her! In fact she was the first pick when we found out my daughter would need a peds doc. She always listens, always talks to my children and takes her time to explain why she feels we need to change meds ect.... I have never once been to her office where I felt she was rude, she always come into the room with a big smile and a "hey guys how are you!"

We are very pleased with this Dr. She has been extremely good to our daughter and I credit her with saving our daughter's life. We had seen 4 other Dr's before Dr. Hurst. She can be moody but who can blame her. She's called me at home and is by far the best Dr. we've ever had.

My son has been a patient of Dr Hurst's since she took over the practice. I have always found her very good with my son. She has done more for my son that anyother doctor or specialist has ever done. I have a hard time believing what I am reading and would recommend her to my friends and family

Can't say enough about Dr Hurst. She has been wonderful to my child, she is always friendly and fun when we go to visit her. She has been his dr for the last 5 years and has got him through some very bad health problems. I have referred many friends to her all of which have loved her.

I agree with the statement below in that some people post a positive and it shoots her rating to a smily face when she should have 10 frowns beside her name. This doctor is the most unprofessional, pigheaded, arrogant, ignorant, rude, etc. etc. doctor I have ever had to deal with. My son DIED in her care! Enough said! She should not be practicing in this country (or any other country for that matter) and it makes you wonder if that is the reason she came to Canada. It is sickening to know that she is still practising after what she put my family through. I would not send a rat to this woman to look after. Someone needs to investigate why she is practising! Read the negative comments and it makes one sick to know that she is being trusted in Canada as a physician! PLEASE DO NOT GO SEE THIS WOMAN! IF YOU ARE REFERRED TO HER RUN!!!!

I work at the hospital and heard nothing but negative statements aimed at this physican, but I believe that you shouldn't always believe what you hear. Anyway my daughter was recently seen by Dr. Hurst and in my 20+ years at the hospital I have never seen the likes of this. She was rude, arguementive and unwilling to listen my issues. She also made unprofessional statements towards other doctors and nurses to the point where she should have her license pulled and sent back to the USA.

My teenage daughter had been seen by doctors, psychologists, psychiatrists, school counselors etc. because of an issue with self harm(cutting). Dr Hurst was the first person who actually was able to get through to her and was able to help with the physical ailments as well as the mental issues. We feel that Dr Hurst was instruemental in saving our daughters life. My daughter has been seeing her for three years and is currently completely off all meds and doing extremely well. She feels the chaos in her head has gone away and is now at peace. I can't say enough in support of Dr Hurst. I have never seen her switch personalities. She is able to relate to teens on their level. Thank God For Dr Hurst!!!!

Dr. Hurst is the worst Doctor anyone can go to. She is immature and not professional at all. She went against a court order and told my ex-husband information that he was not allowed to have access - BY COURT ORDER and she knew this. She is back stabbing and acts like someone in junior high rather than a professional. I am wondering why she came from the states - probably because they didn't want her. She is very moody and unpredictable! Don't take your child to see this woman!

Dr. Hurst is extremely knowledgeable and has been very helpful to us. My daughter is diabetic and she has been very willing to take the time to discuss alternatives with us. Interacts well with my child on every visit. Have seen her come to the hospital to start an IV because the nurses were unable to do so on my 3 year old. Has called me at home, asks for weekly reports and always follows up with lab tests etc. My daughter loves her. We've been with her for 1 year and wouldn't think of going anywhere else - I have yet to see this Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde personality flip that others have described...

I really like her. I had her in the hospital when my son was born and she was very fast but very helpful. So when my son had medical problems at the age of 2 I asked my family doctor to get me in to see Dr. Hurst. And I have never had any problems with her. She is great with my little boy! Always very friendly with us.

Long wait to see Dr. Hurst. When we finally saw her she said my son had ADHD and the medication he was to take. She was blunt, unwilling to listen to us. We felt like a child being scolded by a parent. She clearly represents the poor image Americans have in this world. Sad because we know some Americans who are great. We will never go back.

We have been to IWK in Halifax, go to Family Medical Unit in Dieppe, seen many doctors at Dumont. 1st apptmt, my wife went by herself with our daughter and had the most unpleasant experience. I went with her on the second try to witness my daughter take an attention test using a pc and keyboard with no definite diagnostic. Today, i went in 30 seconds after my wife, was stopped at the reception and told that meetings with the doctor are not to be interrupted. I was rude and went in to see my kid regardless. DrHurst came in, told me I would have to leave or she would not treat my daugther. I was happy to leave and disappointed in the fact that her staff now shares her attitude for quality of service delivery. I will go back to IWK happily and am wondering why is she not in the lucrative US after all. They do have nice offices however. I will never recommend this doctor to anyone, given the fact that to start with, you already are trying to solve emotional problems with your kids

"Wow" is was our first visit impressions 'were'. The last few were very stressful... she flipped on us overnight. Was hugging us one day, bashing us the next for no apparent reason. It was like we had a different doctor all of a sudden. My kid became scared of her, so unfortunately we won't be back.

She has worked very hard at understanding my daughter's condition and she makes whatever phones calls needed to the Shriners hospital for her care. She makes sure that whatever can be done is. She talks to my daughter not just me and I appreciate her directness and her take charge attitude with my daughter. I've had her come to the hospital to give my daughter an IV because the nurses couldn't do it and I've had her call me at home; very personable. Don't know what I would do without her in Moncton

This Doctor is smart. That is something that no one should dispute. My problem, as a parent is her moods. On one visit she is happy, friendly and polite, going out of her way to make you feel at ease. The next visit, she is rude, barely looks at you, says only whats necessary and creates an atmostphere of hostility that in nearly unbearable. It is for this reason, that I have anxiety every time I take my child to the office. I never know which version of "Dr.Hurst" I am going to get.

We have a son with ADHD. When his medication wears off he becomes very hyper. Dr. Hurst told him to sit in his chair. She at one point physically put him in the chair. Then looked at me and said I needed to go for a parenting course. This is supposed to be an ADHD specialist! She must not have children of her own or one with ADHD because she's the one that needs a parenting course. My son was shaking after leaving her office. HE WON'T BE GOING BACK TO HER.

I agree with previous review. This doctor is more interested in the dollar than in the care of people. I have a son with a terminal illness and while he was in the hospital she was rude to my son and told a nurse off in front of us and then continued telling us how bad a nurse she was. In fact, we felt the nurses were top notch. Over worked and short staffed, but do a great job considering that.

Typical American Dr. seems to focus on the money and what she can make the most specializing in. First pediatrics Now AdHd clinic. When we first took our son to her she said no ADD or ADHD. She said go to Peter Ford. Now all of a sudden she has decided that he is ADD she keeps him going in every few months for the same test. Of course now that she has the clinic he is ADD

Wait time to see her is way too long, but that is not her fault. She definitely knows her stuff and is up on all the latest info and meds. Did a great job explaining things not just to me but to my daughter as well, very reassuring for my daughter to know that there was a reason for her learning slowness and that she wasn't dumb.
