1/20/13 1 1 1 2 After reading the other comments, I feel better knowng that I am not the only one that this woman has insulted and demeaned. She has only guessed as to what my issues are, and been wrong. I (along with many others evidently)find Dr. Hicks to be a very rude person, and truly do not believe that she has the "people skills" do be a good doctor.  Respond

8/12/12 5 5 5 5 I was referred by one of the doctors from TOM BAKER CANCER INSTITUTE after my mastectomy telling them that I just go to walk-in clinic. Meaning to say Dr. Heather Hicks was one of the best doctor that is why i was referred to her. Having her as my family doctor for years I found out that she is really very accommodating, nice, professional and the most is always concerned to her patient's health. She is never been rude to to me and after reading some of patients comments I should say that Dr. Hicks was a very soft spoken lady doctor, kind and sweet and I do not believe some people said she is rude. I understand everyone has different attitudes, beliefs, satisfaction and you can not please all. More power doctor Hicks and God Bless.  Respond

5/7/12 3 1 1 2 Dr. Hicks seems like a good doctor when you first go to see her, after that the novelty of having a new patient seems to wear off for her and she starts to get incredibly rude. Also, I don't understand why she wants me to get pap smears constantly. I'm all for preventive health, but why do I need a pap smear when I came in for a cough? I understand a lot of women hate getting a pap once a year- but when your doctor does one every other month you start to wonder about the doctors medical practices.  Respond

1/11/12 3 3 5 5 Dr Hick's now takes appointments only. Yes it can be inconvient but she is practicing preventive health...I don't feel like a burden when I need a physical. If I have a emergency there is lots of clinics that can look after me.  Respond

12/16/11 4 4 5 5 I have been seeing Dr Hicks since she took over the practice. She is very kind and always refers me when she has any concers. She is a very busy woman and there have been times where i have to wait for something but she always comes through. I feel lucky to have her for our family Doc.  Respond

8/31/10 3 1 2 4 Seeing Dr. Hicks is a double edged sword. She is either wonderfully helpful and punctual, or rude, judgemental, and really late. Sadly, more times than not, she is the latter of the two. Almost 8 months ago, I developed severe lower abdominal pain, and my period vanished. I tried for days on end to get in to see Dr. Hicks. As I also suffer from anxiety sitting in her waiting room for hours simply could not happen. I eventually gave up and went to the North East Womens Clinic who did a pap and figured out I had stage 4 abnormal cells of the cervix. I went for surgery and am much better now. However, when Dr. Hicks found out I had gone elsewhere for treatment she became very angry and yelled at me infront of my mother. This has not been the first time I've had to search out teatment elsewhere.  Respond

6/7/10 1 1 1 1 Dr. hicks became my doctor when i moved further north. BIG mistake. The waiting is horrendous, especially when your 8 months pregnant. My last visit was the last straw, All i got was stuttering and a fist full of insults, and it wasn't the first time.I am a young mother with a partner, but no wedding ring and for that she questions my child's health...She is rude, unprofessional, and ignorant of patients.  Respond

3/15/10 3 1 3 3 I have just recently changed to a new dr. because to see Dr. Hicks for just a few minutes for a simple percription refill I would have to sit in the waiting room for 6 to 8 hours even if I was there when it opened. She is a decent doctor if you can handle sitting and waiting for hours on end.  Respond

11/12/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. Hicks first and forth most commitment is providing for her patience and trying to keep her clinic in the best possible working condition, which is extremely difficult to make "picture perfect" due to her clinic being located in the north where it is rare to find a medical clinic. Dr. Hicks has so many patience simply because she really wants to make a change in peoples lives and help as many as she can. I personally do not think Dr. Hicks could spend any more time or put in any more effort into her clinic than she already does. She works almost 12 hours a day seeing over 40 patients on average. I know Dr. Hicks' morals, loyalty to her patience and her broad knowledge is greater than most doctors. I know this because Dr. Hicks is my mother, I see the side effects of working such busy hours everyday, but I also see her will not to give up on her patience everyday aswell.  See Responses

10/8/09 4 4 5 5 Dr. Hicks is a WONDERFUL doctor. I had been seeing Dr. Sethi for 16 years and was very anxious about starting over with a new doctor. Dr. Hicks went above & beyond the call of duty to help me deal with an anxiety disorder that was a nightmare for me. Her background & personality make me wish that she could treat all of the women I know. She doesn't just trest the body, but also the spirit.  Respond

4/24/08 4 2 1 1 I've been seeing Dr. Hicks over the entire winter for chronic ear infections. After the "umpteenth" time of using presciption ear drops and antibiotics, she told me she would get me a referral for an ear specialist. She apparently forgot and was on holidays when I phoned about the referral. I went to see her "substitute" who told me to put oil in my ears and come back in 2 weeks. I went back today, after standing outside in the cold and snow for 1 hour. Dr. Hicks told me that her "substitute" had reported in my chart that an ear specialist would not be necessary, therefore there was no reason to send me to one. She didn't even bother to look at my ears. From there I went to a cleaner, more pleaseant, and organized walk-in clinic closer to my home. I saw the doctor in under 5 minutes. He looked at my ears, saw the infection, gave me a prescription for antibiotics and a referral to an ear specialist. I would never recommend her to anyone looking for professional medical help!  Respond

10/15/07 3 1 3 4 Our family doc retired so my 2 teenage daughters had to find a physician which was close to home. I have gone to see Dr. Hicks with one of my daughters she spoke to me about some of her issues even though it was a long wait. I think my girls have a nice repore with her.  Respond

8/31/07 1 1 1 1 My husband was a long time patient of Dr Sethi, and was surprised to see that Dr Hicks had taken over the practice. Once he was in for his appointment Dr Hicks told him that she didn't want him for a patient...his medical issues are too complicated, and to basically take your chart and take a hike. Terrible Doctor!!  Respond

7/23/07 1 1 2 3 I found that Dr Hicks is only interested in hearing herself talk. She really doesn't care about what you have to say. The 3 hour wait to see her & the general confusion in her office is not worth the wait. I will never be going back to her office.  Respond

5/23/07 4 5 5 Dr. Hicks is a great Doctor. The only problem that I find, is that she works in a walk in clinic and the wait time usually is 1 1/2 to 2 hours if not more. You also can not book an appointment with her, it's first come first served. She has a great knowledge of most all medical situations, and isn't afraid to check with other doctors if she's not sure. Great family doctor..

4/12/07 3 5 5 I have looked for an appropriate physician for many years who could diagnose my health issues and take action on them. Dr. Hicks is an angel from heaven. Immediately upon the first visit, she gained a Lab profile of which she became suspicious and hence took action thereby sending me for CT scans. I will be having a biopsy very soon and out of all of this, the whole experience has been extremely fast paced. Dr. Hicks has sound medical knowledge and experience and I am so grateful to be in her care. All of her patients realize Dr. Hicks attributes so that is why we must wait to be attended to and most likely why she has an extraordinary amount of patients.  Respond
