:( Click to report rating *  12/16/09 3 2 1 Saw Dr.****when I had had a miscarriage. No compassion whatsoever. Did not offer any reassurance regarding the loss, did a pelvic with out explaining what it was for, prescribed a drug to help me pass the fetus and gave NO instruction. He never told me how long to take the drug, what to expect, when to go back to my family doctor, NOTHING. Having a miscarriage was bad enough, but he did not help at all. It was a terrible experience and I intend to complain to the medical board about him.

:( Click to report rating *  12/2/09 4 4 1 Horrible. I've never left a doctor and cried before, but that's what happened when I saw him. He not only denied the existence of my condition - which has been confirmed by every other doctor I've seen since - but made me feel as if all my issues stemmed from my weight and an inability to have sex properly. Rude and dismissive.

:( Click to report rating    6/2/08 1 4 1 I had this doctor for 2 pregnancies on the second pregnacy by child was stillborn. He never contacted me at all when this occured. I saw him for the first time at my six week check up for about 10 minutes where he prescribed me the pill (which I have never taken) and told me to try again in 6 months. I am on my third pregnancy now and needless to say he is not my current doctor

:) Click to report rating    5/20/08 5 5 5 I first saw this doctor when I was 13 and continued to see him regularly for 6 years. I was diagnosed with endometriosis and he performed 4 laparoscopys, a laparatomy and a complete hysterectomy on me when I was 19. He was the only doctor who believed that my pain was real and he tried so hard to get me pain free. To me, I would not go to anyone else but him. I trust him completely and think he is a wonderful doctor and person.

:) Click to report rating    5/16/08 5 4 4 I saw him for the last 2 months of my pregnancy. While he is rather direct and has limited bedside manner, he knows what he is doing and to me that he is doing what is best for me and my baby is much more important that whether he can carry on a polite conversation. I hope I have him again on my next child.

:) Click to report rating    3/23/08 5 5 5 He has been my only gynecologist. I agree he has an unusual personality . Maybe he says those wild & wacky things while you have yor legs in those stirrups so you are not thinking about showing yourself but instead about how weird he is:) He saw he me through a pregancy and displaysia with no complications with either and his secretary is awesome!!

:) Click to report rating    1/14/08 2 5 4 I was refered to him by my GP. I had been warned that he had no bedside manner but was an excellent doctor. That was a very accurate description of him. I was diagnosed with severe Endometriosis/ovarian cysts/fibroid tumors/adhesions and internal hemoraging. He performed the Laparoscopy and immediately put me on the urgent list for a hysterectomy. Within weeks I had the surgery. I had been for at least 3 years struggling with this illness and while he was blunt and his sense of humour bordered on oddly personal topics I truely feel he merely means to put you at ease. The GP that refered him knew what she was talking about and ironically her rating is nearly a 5. I personally do not care if his bedside manner leaves something to be desired he in my opinion is an excellent surgeon. I had no complications and feel better than ever!

:( Click to report rating    1/1/08 3 3 1 This is the worst doctor I ever had to deal with. Saw him a few years ago when disagnosed with a large ovarian cyst. His first words to me.. "I hope you're not expecting any fancy costmetic surgey cuts cause I'm cutting you wide open" while making the sign of a cross to me. In the examination room I was made feel very uncomfortable. Patients are given those sheets to try and maintain some privacy, this dr ripped it off me and make comments about what he thought my ancestry must be because of my colouring. This is not how you treat any patient... The rudest man I ever encountered. Needless to say that after I left his office in tears, he did not perform my surgey. Now whenever I hear someone say that they have been referred to him, I recommend to find another doctor and strongly recommend the excellent dr who did perform my surgery.

:( Click to report rating    10/19/07 3 2 1 Seeing this doctor during my first pregnancy was truely a hateful experience. I would never ever in a million years recommend him to anyone. He was so rude and uncaring. When he checked my cervix at 8 months I cried like a baby...and then bled so much that I had to go to emergency. I get sick when I think about my visits to his office.

:( Click to report rating    9/12/07 3 3 1 He is not that nice. He told my 56 year old mother that her problem was not medical, that she, all of a sudden, didn't know how to properly clean herself. Hmmmm Doesn't sound like he did much research.

:) Click to report rating    7/18/07 4 3 3 I had Dr.****deliver my last child and if it weren`t for him I would have torn quite a bit.........he obviously knows what he is doing and the nurse I had agreed. He is a quite man but can be funny too......he is also very blunt and has a dry sense of humor which can put some people off cause it could be taken as offensive to some!! But overall a nice man!!

:) Click to report rating    6/28/07 5 5 4 I found Dr.****excellent on both my pregnancies. He didn't "beat around the bush." He did the exams and tests that I needed, let me know how I was doing and sent me on my way. He was friendly but didn't want to be my friend which is exactly what I like in a Dr. He tried to have a sense of humor and was great with my 2 year old when I had to bring her to my prenatal appointments. I would definitely request him again if I had another baby.

:( Click to report rating    6/12/07 3 1 This doctor was not very helpful. He did not have a nurse present during my exam and did not explain what procdures he was preforming. I did not find him to be very understanding and he dismissed my concerns without even explaining why. I was 19 and told I may never have children. A little sympathy would have been appreciated.

:| Click to report rating    5/19/07 3 2 I first came across Dr.****when I had to go to the Case Room at 36 weeks cause I was having back and side pains. He made me feel like and idiot and said the baby was pushing on my gallbladder and walked out. I didn't know this was my first pregnancy long term pregnancy as I had previously miscarried twice. I swore I would never let this Dr near me again. When my water broke a couple weeks later I went back to the Case Room and cried when the nurse told me Dr****was on call. I think the nurse understood and I didn't actually have to see Dr.****until they decided to give me and EMERG section and I didn't care what kind of a bedside manner he had then as long as they delivered my baby safely. My stitches got BADLY infected even before I left the hospital but convinced them to let me go home anyway. After this experience I have decided to adopt rather than risk experiencing that again.

:( Click to report rating    5/16/07 2 2 oh what can you say about this man. He told my mom she was a "pain in the A**" while she was being examined. To my Aunt, He shouted "oh My God", she said "What" and he just laughed saying "Got ya! ha ha!" strange person,I've heard alot of negative comments for years about this doctor. whenever different people/friends ask me about which OB to get, I say make sure it not Dr. ***!

:( Click to report rating    5/12/07 1 1 he is an old unprofessional idiot, after being diagnosed at 18 with pre-cancerous cells and two biopsys later, when i went for the results of the second biopsy, they had no record of it being done and the doctor looked me in the face and asked "Are you sure you had it done?" Well come on...you're the one that told me the last visit that you were going to be taking another biopsy which is cried like crazy cause he didn't give me any painkillers or deaden the area first before he cut into me.....hello you don't forget something like that...i think he forgot cause he should have been retired like 60yrs ago....

:( Click to report rating    4/14/07 1 1 THIS DOCTOR SAT ON THE BED BROKE MY WATER AND LEFT WITHOUT SAYING A WORD. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN VERY KIND OF HIM TO EXPLAIN WHAT HE WAS DOING TO ME. THIS WAS DURING THE BIRTH OF MY FIRST CHILD. THAT WAS THE FIRST TIME I SAW HIM AND THE LAST.

:) Click to report rating *  4/2/07 5 5 In my opition Dr.Kum is a excellent doctor, and i thank god everyday for what this man has done for me.I was sent to Dr.Kum when i was 15 years old.and he diagnosed me with severe Endometriosis.I became sick when i had my first period, when i was ten years old.I was sent to a number of different doctors, none of which were any help,I went through years of hell being told either they did not know what was wrong with me,or that my sickness was in my head.My mother also had Endometriosis and had always asked every doctor i seen if that could possibly been what was wrong with me,But they all seemed to pass it off. When i finally went to Dr.Kum i had honestly given up all hope of ever finding out what was wrong with me.Kr.Kum was the one who did find out what was wrong with me and After having a complete hystrectomy at the age of 18.I am a picture of health and i owe it all to him.I strongly recommened him.He really knows his stuff.

:| Click to report rating    3/30/07 4 2 this doctor has a poor beside manner. I went to see him several times prior to having a hysterectomy which he performed. Each and every time I went in he asked what I did for a living and discussed my field of work with great critism. He then performed my surgery, and after several follow up visits and letters from my gp six months later he had to put me back in hospital to fix the mistake he had made during the intitial surgery. But not before torturing me trying to fix it without surgery. I am with the other lady who is wondering where all these wonderful comments about him are coming from. He is cold, crude and rushes everyone and everything including his surgeries.

:( Click to report rating    3/27/07 3 1 My gynocologist was not available when I went in labour and Dr.****performed an emeergency C-section as my son was in fetal distress. My husband scrubbed up alongside Dr.****as he made lewd gestures and jokes to the assisting nurses - the nurses seemed uncomfortable as well. From the point i was wheeled out of surgery I had never laid eyes on this doctor again. Also, my botched surgery required many corrections and a hysterectomy. I hear very little compliments about this doctor and am quite surprised at his ratings so far.

:) Click to report rating    3/20/07 4 5 I stand behind the doc. He delivered both my children, c-sections. I never had any problems. I barely even have a scar. Some may find him sharp.....he's not. I found him funny. He does say it like it is, but that's a good trait to have. He was recommended to me by my G.P. Great choice.

:) Click to report rating    3/16/07 5 5 Dr.Kum is very knowledgeable and up to dat with all the new and up and comming treatments in obs/gyn today. I have known him for greater than 20 years(the age of my child) and he has seen me through the good and the horrible times never making me feel stupid for asking any question. He always answers and will take the time to ensure that I understand and he has a great memory for his clients. I had not seen him for awhile and he knew me on site at once. Even in a social setting he is always courtious and says Hi. Therefore, for me Dr.Kum rates very high and i have also witnessed this with other friends and family who are his patients.

:) Click to report rating    3/14/07 4 5 I am an endometriosis patient of Dr. Kum's and he has performed two of my surgeries. I couldn't have asked for a better surgeon or physician. I was nervous on my first surgery and Dr.****actually came out to where I was waiting and wheeled me in to the operating room himself. While having a good bedside manner can be a comfort to some people, I would prefer someone who is more competent in the operating room. He has always made time for me to sit and talk with him and he has a quick sense of humour. One more item to note, you will not find very many doctors who will actually go up and ask their patient how they are in a public setting. I have seen Dr.****out and about a number of times, and every single time he has always come up and asked me how I was. I don't think that there are very many doctors that I could say the same things about.

:) Click to report rating    1/28/07 5 5 Excellent doctor, fantastic bedside manner. Quickly assessed need for an emergency C-section and delivered baby quickly and safely. Maintained a calm presence throughout the delivery. Provided me with excellent feedback and answered all my questions. Postnatal check was thorough and informative. Would choose this doctor in the future.

:( Click to report rating    1/19/07 2 1 Paid little attention of high risk pregnancy prenatally and did nothing to promote healing after an emergency section. Gave no support after a stillbirth delivery. Needs to be investigateed.

:) Click to report rating    1/13/07 5 5 Definitely the absolute "best"! He arrived immediately for the birth of my first born in the wee hrs of the morning, a breach that required an emergency section; and safely delivered my second child after a very complicated pregnancy. He is an honest, down-to-earth individual who has nothing but respect for his patients. He has a great sense of humour despite his long hrs and the constant challenges he faces in this demanding profession. If you are looking for a very qualified doctor I would definitely recommend him with the highest rating!!! 5++++++

:) Click to report rating    12/12/06 4 5 After a scare with pre-cancerous cells this doctor save the day. He has a witty air about him that lightened the mood considerably and he explained everything very well. The procedure was successful and I'm very grateful. There have been several follow up visits and each one has been fine.
