helped me out when I did not want a prescription when some doctors got there pen and pad in hand when you walk in the door. He took his time to examine my problem and gave me instructions for preventitive care.

Thought he was useless and rude. Went in several times with debilitating cramps, back pain and nausea during my period. Each time, he threw a different prescription at me for pain pills that were no more effective than reg. strength Advil. The only advantage was he gave me the Dr's note I needed for missing work. Another time, I went in with an infected wisdom tooth. He gave me antibiotics, and when I expressed concern about the cost of an extraction, he said not to worry and he'd give me a referral and take care of it. I went to the dentist he suggested, and they had no idea what I was talking about it. Went back to Misik and told him what happened. He says "What did you expect? Me to pay for it? Maybe if you guys quit smoking, you could pay for it." When I told him my fiance and I never smoked a day in our lives, he dismissed it and all but called me a liar! And these are just 2 examples. I have 3 years worth, because I couldn't find another family Dr. taking new patients. Never again

If you have a health problem, DO NOT GO TO DR. MISIK,you'll leave wondering why you waited 2 hours to see him, totally useless, no compassion or sympathy at all for your health related problems.

Dr. Misik can't wait to get patients out the door. He seems to listen to patients symptoms and then pulls a diagnoses out of his ***. I went to him twice in one week with horrible stomach pains and no other symptoms. Even though I had a history of other related problems he told me I had a stomach bug. I finally had to go to the emergency room where they told me I had an ovarian cyst that had ruptured. He is also giving a friend of mine horrible advice about her pregnancy but that is another matter. I would advise anyone to stay far away from Dr. Misik if they can help it.

Karl Misik is in my opinion a ****. While in his care my Dad and my sister have died. My Dad was given a clean bill of health by this quack and a week later he died of angina. My sister was treated by this quack for 2 years, he treated her for ulcers, she died of Stomach cancer, which could have been prevented except for his neglect. This tool deserves to have his medical license taken from him. I wouldn't even bring a hamster to this fool.

I used to go see him years ago - I was very glad to find another doctor. I would NOT reccomend him to anyone! He's running a medical factory for profit - not practicing medicine because he cares about his patient's health. If he wants to do drug research - he should go work for a drug company not experiment with his own patients!

Words that come to mind(in my opinion) when I think of Dr. Misik who I saw for 24 years…Impersonal, self righteous, arrogant and NO time to analyze your medical needs. The end! But I LOVE my new doctor!!! One question….why did I wait 24 years???

We are grateful to Dr. Misik for his continued care, campassion and moral support since our ten year old son was diagnosed with cancer in 2005. Dr. Misik was instrumental in helping us find a treatment for our boy before it was too late. Words cannot express how thankful we are for everything Dr. Misik has done for our family. God Bless

I have chronic migrains (diagnosed by a neurologist) my original doctor left to practice elsewhere, seeing that Dr. Misik was my husband's doctor, I went to see him, he sent me to see a different neurologist as Dr. Go had left the province, who I might add was just as uncompassionate as he is. When I went to get my follow up from the neurologist, Dr. Misik was very, as he put it "upset" with me. The letter he had received from theneuroligist got him teed off with me. He actually called me a liar and said I was addicted to pain medication. Needless to say I was flabergasted, as he had no problem prescibing me my previous medication that had been prescibed by my previous DR. Beleive me I don't like to take a pill, but when I'm in pain, I don't care if the sky falls, I just want out of it. So Dr. Misik I guess you know who I am, as I left your office in tears that day, Thanks for making me feel like such a low life. Do you ever wonder why I never went back to you? Well now you know.

I totally agree in regards to the revolving door policy. I have seen a number of doctors including private health care practioners and I had to switch due to his lack of regard. I believe he has too many patients with ecah one averaging 5 minutes each. I am sure he is an exceptional reseracher and perhaps he should stick to that. He does not have any empathy at all for the sick and seems to only care about promoting pharmaceutical companies. He actually gets defensive and irritated when someone asks a legit question or has any amount of medical knowlege. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone in their twenties because he dosn't take the time to explain or diagnose his patients. He also will not request specialist appointments either. I think he has been at it for too long and it clearly shows.

dr misik is very knowlegable on many disorders. also is involved in many studies. He have been informative on fibromyalgia, which is a chronic pain disorder affecting the lives of millions of people. this disorder is believed to be "in your head" and often dismissed by many doctors. it took almost 2yrs for my diagnosis, which came about only after leaving my doctor (of 10yrs_) dr misik was very genuine and made me believe in myself again.

My Dads doctor for a long time. My dad was the type who was very quick to book an appoinment when something felt 'off' and Dr. Misik dismissed his symptoms on a number appointments, telling him he was fine when Dad said he was not. Well, Dad was evetually diagnosed with cancer after insistig on getting some tests done he and died within 8 months. I think Dr. Misik is probably a good and caring person who means well, but he has too many patients which results in a revolvng door policy. This is probably more of a reflection of Newfoundland Health Care than Dr. Misik, but I think he needs to trim his patient list in half and get back to truly analyzing his patients which means dedicating me than 5 minutes per person. I think he missed my Dad's diagnosis, and while that would probably not have saved him, it should be noted that he dropped the ball. I certainly don't blame Dr. Misik for my Dad's death, but I do think a quicker diagnosis could hve led to improved care and treatment for him.

Dr. Misik is one of the most knowledgeable doctors in the city taking extra time participating in research studies and external educational groups. He has corrected several prior misdiagnoses of mine due to other doctor errors. He may not be the most personable or spend extra time chit-chatting but he really knows his stuff! I trust his diagnoses to be accurate and never frivolous. And in recent years, has become a little more social but who needs that in a doctor anyways???

I use to go this Dr. and was never satisfied but I figured they were all like him. I was born with club foot that was corrected at birth but it continued to give me problems. When it got so bad that I could no longer walk I went to misik who told me "All I can do for you girl is cut it off." Well I still have my foot and a brand new DR. Thanks for nothing. He is so arrogant and rude. It's a sign of how bad the health care system is when you have the likes of that as the president of the medical association.

I went to him for over thirty years and was dismayed at the deterioration of service during that time. I left him because he didn't seem interested in listening to my symptoms, saying that I was having emotional problems-when what I was actually suffering from was a life-threatening alergy.

Dr.Misik has been my Dr. for 30 years now and he delivered my son in 1984.I am so glad that he is still in pratice and I think he is really a great DR.I do know he will retire one day and I will have to move on to another DR. I just hope I will be as lucky to have a DR. with his qualities and friendship. He's just an excellent Doc!

I have fibromyalgia, a chronic pain disorder. I was mistreated by my doctor of 10 yrs as if it was all in my head & had me on many anti-depressants which made me extremely sick. I met Dr Misik at a time when I lost trust in the medical practice. However, I find him very sincere, and knowledgable with this disorder when most medical professionals dont believe it exits. He is very busy, with many patients...it seems to be in & out service, but this is envidence of his capability. He is a past president of the NL Medical Assoc. & is involved in many studies. I would not see anyome else

Seems to care more about testing new drugs and programs than he Does about the patient. I agree with the first review about having no bedside manner and diagnosing without examining the patient. I believe this individual is only interested in how many people he can get in and out as quickly as possible. If you have any other options open to you rather than this doctor's services I recommend you exercise them.
