:) Click to report rating    6/18/08 5 5 5 I was referred to Dr. Pike in June of 2006 after spending years getting very sick every month and she said she could give me back my life again if I would have a hysterectomy. Three weeks later I had my surgery and she was right. Life is good. I found her to be very knowledgable and thorough and took the time to explain the surgery to me and after the surgery came to visit me and explain everything she did and visited me in the hospital the next day to see if everything was going well. She was very professional and when I went for my check-up after six weeks, she was very nice to me and pronounced that everything had healed beautifully and wished me well. I am grateful to her for giving me back my life. Thank you Dr. Pike,

:) Click to report rating    6/18/08 4 5 4 I found Dr. Pike to be very nice when I seen her. However, my only complaint would be when they put me in the tiny room waiting for her to come see me, I was freezing.....way too much AC for people sitting in rooms with almost no clothes on.

:) Click to report rating    4/18/08 5 5 5 I just had my first visit with Dr. Pike and I can't say enought great things about her. I was sent to her because the other doc. that I had seen didn't satisfy my regular GP and I. dr. Pike was wonderful to me, she listened very carefully to my symptoms and examined me with much care. She has determined that I have Adenomyosis and that I will need a hysterectomy. This is what my GP had predicted all along and it could of been taken care of months ago. I do not look forward to having major surgery but knowing that I am in her capable hands has put me at ease.

:) Click to report rating    1/24/08 5 3 5 When I met dr.pike i was told by other doctors that i was crazy, at the age of 18, i was very very sick with endometriosis, she helped me, gave me surgeries, and believed in me. She was by far the kindest doctor i had, and i will be forever grateful that i found her, for she believed me when I told her I was in pain.

:) Click to report rating    1/1/08 5 3 5 I have dealt with Dr Pike for two surgeries. She is very good at what she does. My first appt with her she sat down with me for almost an hour and explained everything about my upcoming surgey. I felt so at ease after speaking with her. The second surgery was May 2006 and went very well. When I went back for my follow up appt she came in with a big smile on her face and asked how I was doing. She was very pleased with the results of my surgery. She is a great doctor. I have only had one appt rescheduled as she got an emergency call for a baby in distress. The appt was quickly rescheduled. I strongly recommend her to any patient who wants a doctor who knows her work. She's the greatest.

:( Click to report rating    7/11/07 3 1 1 My appt. with Dr. Pike kept getting reschedulled, when I finally did get in to see her I waited in the reception area for 2 hours, only to be put in a tiny room where I waited for an additional 20 mins!! When Dr. Pike finally did arrive she was curt, and seemed rushed to get me out(possibly because she was late and had a full waiting room of very anxious patients). I found her to not really take me serious and she really wasn't helpful, her response to me was oh well thats no biggy... ummm yes it is a big deal to me and to my family doctor who referred me. I am currently in the process of trying to find a new gyno who actually takes me seriously and wants to help me. My advice to any of her patients out there, if you are unhappy with her care or you have doubts or concerns, go see someone else... get a second opinion, YOUR HEALTH IS WORTH IT!!

:) Click to report rating    7/6/07 5 5 5 I have been dealing with Dr. Pike for many years now and I have nothing but great things to say about her. She is a fabulous doctor!!!! I first started seeing Dr. Pike when I was in my late teens and I found that my experince was a very comforting one, which lead me to continue seeing her. I've never had to wait more than 1/2 hour to see her and her staff are exceptional. I would definitely recommend her. She's a very patient, helpful and knowledgeable doctor. I've been told by many other doctors and nurses that work with her on a routine basis that she's one of the best in her field. Keep up the good work Dr. Pike!!!

:( Click to report rating    5/29/07 2 1 My daughter has been seeing Dr. Pike since she was 13 years old. The first visits were fine, she was helpful and knowledgeable. But, on our last visit, she made us feel like we were wasting her time. She was very rude and curt. If my daughter needs follow-up in the future, I will be requesting another doctor.

:( Click to report rating    5/24/07 1 2 The wait in the office is typically 1.5 hours and has been as long as two hours. Dr Pike appears not really into her work and chronically stressed. Perhaps it is time for regular holidays?

:) Click to report rating    5/10/07 3 5 Dr. Pike attended to me during both my pregnancies! She is a wonderful doctor and I have nothing but praise and respect for her. The wait for my appointments were sometime unbearable but that was only because there was a hugh demand for her time and knowledge. Dr. Pike, you are truly a great doctor and both my babies (8 and 6) are living a healthy and happy life. Thank you for your wonderful care!

:| Click to report rating    4/28/07 1 2 I had heard many negative coments regarding Dr. Pike when I informed my friends that she was assigned to me during my pregancy and as try as I might I could not get into see another doctor. I have to agree with may of the other comments she comes off as very kurt, and somewhat crass. I dreaded my appointments with her the wait was almost unbearable particullary when I had the vomitting morning, noon, and night throughout the whole pregancy. Dr. Pike was very rough and never gave very concise answers to most of my questions. I was never supposed to be able to concieve a child and was very nervous about my high risk pregancy in the end I had to have a section and spent a full week in the hopspital and saw Dr. Pike for 2 minutes during the duration. I was never told about what to expect after a section and as things started to go wrong she was no where to be found. I strongly suggest to any pregant women to do everything you can to get reassigned to anything Dr. I am still suffering.

:) Click to report rating    4/5/07 4 5 I first met Dr. Pike when I was referred to her during my 2nd pregnancy. She was great. A few years later my daughter who was only 1yr. at the time was referred to her and I was told she was the absolute best by another Dr. and I agreed. She was wonderful with my little girl and very knowledgeable with her condition.

:( Click to report rating *  4/2/07 1 1 I was sent to this doctor when i was 15 years old,i Found her very rude.My mother had Endometriosis and had asked this doctor if that could possibly been why i was sick and if i could of had Endometriosis myself,Her responce to us both was that She could do tests but all i would get was an answer. After informing us that my sickness could possibly been in my head she showed us to the door,A few months later i was sent to another doctor who Had confirmed in fact i do have Endometriosis. After having a complete hystrectomy i am a picture of health,But no thanks to this doctor. She treats you as if you are a bother.I would never go to see her again.

:) Click to report rating    3/26/07 5 5 Dr Pike can seem rude and uncaring - my first visit to her was with an intern in the room - I felt like they didn't even know i was in the room "see that, that shouldn't be there" "see this, looks like the lump on the right" - NOTHING was explained to me! So why did I rate her so high? Because the results of my biopsy showed high grade displasia - contact with her office to set up the appointment for hte LEEP was smooth and efficent, because she was very good during the WHOLE LEEP process - what she was doing, why, what happens if I don't, when I can start trying for a child, what to expect afterwards - THOROUGH, KNOWLEDGABLE and EFFICIENT - things I pride in any profession and what I need in doctor.

:) Click to report rating    3/22/07 3 4 I started going to Dr. Pike during the third trimester of my first pregnancy. I found her to be quick, thorough, and professional. She isn't overly friendly; however, I was seeing her for her knowledge and experience, not for a social visit! Although she didn't deliver my baby and didn't visit me in the hospital, I was quite pleased with her as a Doctor. I didn't have any complications with my pregnancy, so there was no need for her to be there for the birth. I would rather know that she is spending time with patients who need her than with me. Besides, I had family and friends to share in this happy occasion!

:( Click to report rating    3/19/07 1 1 As far as I am concerned this woman should not be giving care to pregnant women. I had been refered to Dr. Pike by my family Doctor and had been told she was a wonderful Doctor by many people. My experience was not so lovely. This woman was very cold and unwelcoming to a 36 weeks pregnant woman. She at one point did say (as I have read in other ratings) that she didn't even understand why I was coming to her. I guess she didn't notice my extremely protruding stomach. She was not only cold and unmannerly to myself but terribly rude to my husband and made a comment about his weight. I was very displeased and will never go to her again, and would ask for someone else if infact she was the obgyn on call on the evening of my next delivery.

:( Click to report rating    3/19/07 2 2 My experience with Dr. Pike was aweful. I experienced cervical troubles and had been seeing Dr.Pugh who had left the province. At my last follow-up appt after some complications I had, Dr.Pike kept talking about me, the patient, to the intern as if I wasn't even in the room - things like "I don't know why she's even here"..Ummm, because I love pelvic exams??? NO! because I had to make sure my cervix had healed properly. As if she blamed me for lack of information held in my file. HOWEVER, she delivered my baby boy and that went fine but I had a great delivery where anybody could've caught my baby boy. It would've been nicer if it was someone who spoke 2 or 3 words to me during the delivery though - she only addressed the staff. Hardly remember her even being there. So all that being said, I'll never choose to see her if it can at all be helped.

:) Click to report rating    3/17/07 5 5 Dr. Pike is a life saver...she saved my daughter's life! Her immence experience and clinical intuition lead to a decision that would have otherwise been devastating! I credit her totally for a beutiful, healthy 6 year old daughter, who we could not imagine life without! Dr. Pike is fabulous! Her great staff should be commended as well...Alice, her nurse and Michelle, her secretary make a wonderful team. I continue to see Dr. Pike yearly. Many thanks!

:( Click to report rating    3/17/07 1 1 I found her very rude and unfeeling. She just came out and told me that I couldn't have children when I was about 20. She just said it as if it wasn't a big deal as if it were like I couldn't have an ice cream or something. I wasn't long switching to O'Grady

:( Click to report rating    3/16/07 3 1 In 2001 i gave birth to my third child. it was a routine uncomplicated pregnancy & delivery but how would Dr Pike know as she wasn't on call she wasn't there for the delivery & nor did she take the time to visit me at the hospital. I was there for 3 days & there was no sign of her 1st nor last. Needless to say she didn't assist in the delivery of my fourth in 2002. I also found her to be cold and uncaring during my prenatl visits. I would not see her again. If you don't care about your patints find another occupation.

:) Click to report rating    3/15/07 4 5 Dr. Pike is a wonderful doctor. When I was pregnant with my first child she was very patient and took the time to answer my many questions without ever making me feel rushed. When an emergency C-section was required due to a placental abruption, she saved my baby's life. When my second child was born slightly earlier than expected on a Friday and with a heart murmur, Dr. Pike again performed the delivery. She also came by the hospital on Saturday morning to see how my daughter and I were doing. Now that I am experiencing some gynecological problems, I am again seeing Dr. Pike. Again, she did the necessary tests to determine what was going on, and spent the time to carefully explain things. If you require gynecological or obstetrical care, she is one of the best. As well, enough can not be said about Michelle, her secretary. Michelle is kind, compassionate, very knowledgeable and helpful and she and Dr. Pike work wonderfully together.

:(      3/15/07 4 1 If you suspect you have cancer go elsewhere. I hold this "doctor" responsible for the death of my wife. She apparently knows next to nothing about ovarian cancer. On her very first visit, this "doctor" waltzed into the examination room an immediately declared that she didn't know what was wrong with my wife. She said she could do a couple of tests, but since it would take a long time to arrange them she didn't see the point. She then dismissed my wife from her office. She asked no questions about my wife's symptoms or medical history, nor referred her to any other specialist. She just showed her out the office. 7 months later, her abdomen swollen like a beach ball, the doctors in the emergency room at the Health Sciences Hospital diagnosed her with ovarian cancer. She died two years later after much treatment. By the time she was diagnosed it was too late. If only she had been diagnosed earlier, the doctors there said!! This thing should have her license revoked!

:) Click to report rating    12/11/06 5 5 Dr. Pike is the best doctor I have ever had. I was in hospital for 3 weeks and she came and saw me in my room everyday, including weekends. When I received bad test results on a Friday late in the day, she showed up at 9:00 Saturday morning to explain things because she knew I would be worried. I would recommend her to ANYONE.
