3/19/13 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 5 | A good doctor, very knowledgeable and ontime. However about a wek after my procedure I developed a pain. Could not get him to look at it. I had to go back to a GP and wait for a referal. Not that helpful | Respond |

3/19/12 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I recently had gall bladder surgery that was performed by Dr. Farrell. He had such a nice manner and made me feel comfortable with every visit to his office. His secretary, Brenda was also very cordial and helpful.I certainly would recommend Dr. Farrell to anyone and it was worth my while to travel to Carbonear General from St. John's.I wish him all the best. | Respond |

9/21/11 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Farrell performed a Lap Chole on my mother and it went very well. She really like him as he explained things to her and answered her questions. Great surgeon!! Not hard on the eyes either! | Respond |

1/14/11 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Saw Dr. Farrell for a very unpleasant procedure (vasectomy) in St. John's where he now practices. I have no complaints at all, he is very professional and seemed to have a new nurse in whom he was very patient with and explained everything to her. Answered all of my questions and although the procedure was longer than he had expected, I didn't feel he rushed to get me out. I apologize to those after me. Adam | Respond |

9/24/10 | 5 | 4 | 5 | 5 | I worked for Dr. Farrell and he was one of the best bosses I had. He is very professional, knowledgeable, down to earth, and compassionate doctor. He treats all of his patients with the upmost care and respect. His patients really seemed to be pleased with Dr. Farrell's services and his scheldule was always overbooked with patients from everywhere. Dr. Farrell is a kind hearted man who gives his all. I would have loved to continue to work for him provided the business did not relocate. I wish him and his family all best!!!!!!!!! | Respond |

8/6/10 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Farrell is VERY knowledgeable, but that is far from the only reason I would give him a PERFECT score. He is one of the most down to earth, compassionate, and kind doctors I have ever encountered. I cannot fathom how ANYONE could think that his bedside manner was not absolutely wonderful. I truly cannot understand how anyone can think that this doctor doesn't care. It seems so outside of my experience with this lovely man...He is both professional and personable. I have visited many okay doctors, a few "bad" doctors, but not many GREAT doctors...and that is what Dr. Farrell is!!! | Respond |

5/25/09 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | My husband has been seeing dr. farrell for a couple of years now and I have been seeing him myself for about 6 months. I don't understand others saying he doesn't have a good bedside manner, he has the best bedside manner i've ever encountered. He is kind, courteous and explained everything thoroughly, took his time with us and didn't rush us out. It would be great if all the doctors with Eastern Health were as good as him!! I'm really surprised that someone would leave nevative comments. I would definitely recommend Dr. Farrell as THE best doctor I've ever seen. | Respond |

9/25/08 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | Dr Farrell seems to be very upset about the negative comments. Hey Bob, people are entitled to voice their opinions ever if you don't like them...they are voicing their opinions based on their experience with you...Hey, remember...if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck... | Respond |

5/22/08 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Farrell performed surgery on my brother in Ottawa when he was diagnosed with colon cancer. I truly believe that my brother wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for Dr. Farrell. An excellent surgeon with a great bedside manner. To him the patient is a human, not just a number. He not only used his fantastic surgical skills, he also stressed that with cancer comes many other issues and he made sure the family and my brother knew how to deal with cancer mentally. Hats off to you, Dr. Farrell; too bad there aren't more like you. | Respond |

2/13/08 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr Robert Farrell is by far one of the best surgeons out there today; I would even go further and say "He Is The BEST" out there. Both my husband and I have had Dr. Farrell preform surgery on us and neither of us can say enough great things about this man. We both have the highest confidence and regard for his work. Dr. Robert Farrell YOU ARE by far a 10 all the way in our eyes. Thank you so much and from the bottom of our hearts YOU ARE a GREAT MAN and don't ever think anything different. Your the best. You would be a great asset to any hospital; but I'm happy and proud to say that we had you has our doctor and friend doing our surgery. Your secretary Brenda is so competent and an absolute gem; we have been so honored to have had you both take care of us. Thank you both so very much. John & Geri Bauer | Respond |

9/22/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Farrell is a genuine doctor. He did minor surgeries on my mother when she had cancer moles and spots and there was not even a scar left. She was over 80 years of age and I was quite impressed at his bedside manner. He took great patience in his work, made her feel at ease and explained all the procedures to her and to me. Nothing was too much trouble for him. When he used the light to check for bowel problems, he detected a gynecological problem and had her referred immediately to the hospital gynecologist. He is truly a remarkable man in whom I would put my trust should I have to be referred to him. Also, I found his office to be very accommodating. Overall, Dr. Farrell is the best. | Respond |

8/3/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Behind every good doctor is a great receptionist! I am THE major wimp when it comes to medical procedures, but I survived to tell the tale! Hey, and look, no scar (well, almost!)..just as the doc said..and thanks to the receptionist, I had a great laugh that put me at ease....MCW | Respond |

3/27/07 | 4 | 5 | 5 | I have had many dealings with this doc. over the years both with my own family and on a professional basis, and I can say with confidence that If I was in need of a doctor in Dr.Farrells specialty.... I would actually chose this doctor over most of the surgeons that I know in this province. Nothing against the rest, BUT, when someone in Dr. Farrells position can give up so much to go to wartorn countries.. it certainly isnt for his own good.... This man is a good doctor, a very patient and compassionate man and in many parts of this world he is probably considered a hero | Respond

3/13/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I'd put my life in this man's hands without question or hesitation...more importantly, I'd put the lives of my loved ones in his care as well. One of the best doctor/surgeons this province has, I would even go so far as to say this country. He has treated me on three occasions with a fourth coming up, and I will sign my name because I'm proud both to know this man and to say he is one of my doctors!!!! Allan Smith, CBS | Respond

2/24/07 | 5 | 5 | 5 | First of all I don't know how you can verify this information. These are libelous comments and I have a right to know who wrote them so I can defend myself. In my entire career I have never had comments like this written about me and believe this can damage a persons career severely. If a person has a problem with how I treated them then seek legal action and I have never had a legal action against me. What you have printed is half the story and reflects a patient blaming a physician for their cancer…part of the anger process and thus is wrong morally and ethically. On an open forum like this we are guilty until proven innocent. At least have the decency to make individuals sign their name thus preventing people from leaving exaggerated, misleading and potentially harmful comments. I,however, am seeking legal council…..unless something is done about this comment…either retract it or send me the name of the individual so I can deal with it. 1/14/07 | 1 | 1 | 1 | this doctor has to be the worst md i have ever come in contact with. I cannot believe how far behind the times he is. he was not up to date on the surgical procedures i needed, and did not inform me to visit the cancer clinic in st.johns to get info on my dx.he may have been got attending soilders , in a war but does not offer the standard of care, that everyone is entitled to. Always get a second opinion if you have to see this doctor. not a compassionate md. | Respond

12/11/06 | 5 | 5 | 5 | This is one of the most compasionate doctors that I have seen. He is caring and understands his patients. He takes the time to talk to his patients and not at them. | Respond |
