Seen him at a walk-in for my son. He was RUDE to my 5 yr old who was just saying hi. He put something on my son without explaining what is was, what will happen or aftercare. But demanded we come to his private clinic for a followup. My sons arm looked almost infected after one day so we made the appt. It was for 3:30pm, he didnt come in the room till 4:30pm. Was in there for 2 mins max. asked why we came back and left. The reception was terrible. They didn't even know who my son and bf were or that they were waiting in the room for the dr. Dr West said to come back in a week for another followup.....FAT CHANCE!! Never going back and if we go to the walk-in and he is working im walking out!!!

I went in to see Dr. West for a second oppinion about pains after a vasectomy procedure. After telling him what I was there for he asked me how my sex life was. I told him I was married for a second time and decided to preach to me telling me that God would want me to make things right with my first wife and that God would not condone divorce and a vasectomy procedure. The only thing I could do was walk out.

I went to doctor west through a doctor referral as my wonderful doctors practice was full and he would not take on my husband. At the first visit I waited for about 45min to see him. Once I got into the office I noticed all his certificates for botox and weight loss programs..it gave me a very uneasy feeling. Once he came into the office I stood up to shake his hand and he NOTICIBLY checked me out from head to toe. I felt totally violated at this point and i couldnt get out of there faster. I never went to him again nor my husband. He has since found a wonderful doctor. About 6 months after the appointment we recieved a letter from our unsurer wanting to varify specific appointments with doctor west...appointments that never happened yet he was charging medical! I was not upset just happy he got caught and happy to know I did the right thing by leaving his office !

This Dr. was one of the worst Dr.s I have ever had the displeasure of knowing! The waits were very long, no room in the waiting area, once you get in to see the Dr. you spend valuable time listening to him talk on his cell phone about personal matters. I'm really glad to hear he has gone back to South Africa! Now my husband has a real Dr. and I changed years ago!

The worst! He was on the bandwagon for prescribing hormone therapy for middle aged women. When he asked me why I did not wish to take HMT I told him I had listened to several speakers on the subject and felt I had made an informed decision. His derogatory comment was, " you would probably go to a plumber to get your car fixed!" Very unprofessional. I actually wrote a letter to the college of P and S but they would not be bothered with it unless I sent him a copy of it too. I figured he would probably sue me so did not bother. I was lucky to get another doctor in the area. The only way I did was to tell the nurse several of the terrible experiences I had with this so called professional.

Too bad that Dr. West left the country. I hope he enjoys his retirement. He was never on time, but he was a good docter and will be missed!!

Wait times can be anywhere from 30 minutes to 90. No kidding. Its disgraceful. He triple books. Can't find a chair in the waiting room. Yaps on his cell phone during visits & one time brought his lunch into the office where I was waiting for him. Its a good thing hes left the country for an unknown amount of time & has good doctors replacing him.

My Mom and I attended Dr. West to have a form filled out for my Grandma (he was her doctor). He thought my Mom was my Grandma! We had never met him before. My Mom is in her 60's and my Grandma in her 90's. Obviously he doesn't even know his own patients. He did not know what her medical diagnoses were, and asked me if she had parkinson's disease (no she didn't), and was she diabetic - no. His diagnosis of gout was not backed up with blood work, so he gave her medications for gout anyhow. His last record of BP and weight was more than 2 years prior. He had her on numerous medications for high blood pressure, and never bothered to check her BP before her next prescription. We changed doctors and the new Dr immediately cut out half her medications, tested her for gout and as it turns out she never had gout, but she was anemic so he ordered B12 injections and it made her so much more mentally alert and sharp.Dr West is a poor excuse for a family doctor,he took advantage of my Grandma!

This doctor's office was not ready for a patient to visit. I was the first person in in the morning and the garbage can in the examination room was full. Full of what? various examining room-type of waste? How hygenic is that? If the garbage can't be removed for the day's new visitors, what else needs to be cleaned, wiped off etc? My experience is of tremendous waits each and every time. I visited approx. 5 times and each time I see things to make me wonder what I'm doing trying it again. It is hard to find a professional caring and intelligent doctor, but I must head out and try again.

I used to really like Dr. West but he just isn't the same Dr. anymore. He barely looks at you, you get in 45 minutes after your appointment time and he answered his cell phone (personal calls) during my last 2 appointments! His office routinely double or triple books patients. We went in about one thing and he gave my husband medication for something else and didn't have time to explain why! I won't go back and it's unfortunate since a year and a half ago he was a wonderful Dr.

I took my step daughter to him because of reoccuring stomach aches, even Christmas Day, she was starting to loose weight. He did not even exam her in any way, not even touch her stomach, He just said she had an eating disorder and to take her to a phycologist. Her Mother took her to her Dr one week later, he sent her for tests and found she had a ulcer and needed meds for months.

I have never experienced anything like this. He referred my son to the wrong specialist and, after waiting 4 months, we found out the day before his appointment that this wasn't a pediatric specialist and they wouldn't even see my son. My son was put off by one year before getting on his needed medication because of Dr. West's errors. Dr. West would only see us for one thing at a time. Each time we saw him he would either answer his cell phone or have to leave. Once his nurse delivered his smoothie while he was seeing me. Another time, while I had already waited for an hour I could hear him talking on the phone in his office about decorating/painting his pharmacy. When confronted about these frustrations and unprofessionalism he was condescending and very rude. He was out to make money first. I never did get any doctoring out of him. It was a very strange and shocking experience because at first he did seem caring and nice.

Oh Ihave waited a long time for this opportunity. He is the most rude, ignorant, dr I have ever met. When he first came to Abbotsford I was referred to him as my Dr had stopped family practice. I had to go for a pap test and booked the first appt. He did'nt walk into the office until an hour later. I was probably there 2 1/2 hours. When he did arrive a reporter/photographer from the newspaper had also been waiting to see him, he saw her first. I cannot believe he is still in practice. He had another dr. sharing his office at this time, this dr. moved to another office and I followed her. I asked for my files to be moved (I seen him twice) they wanted to charge me $60 which I never paid. They wanted the same for my daughter's file and she never went to him. I was going to report him to the professional association and surprised no one ever has. Find another doctor.

I have nothing but bad things to say about this doctor. One Saturday I went in for my appointment, and the clinic was CLOSED! They just decided to close that day and not even call me.

I have been incredibly unimpressed with Dr. West and refuse to see him again. Wait times are long, but that I can deal with. I have never felt like he listened to me. I went with a respiratory problem and asked if antibiotics were needed; he took this as a request and after a VERY brief exam, wrote me a prescrip and left the room, then stuck his head back in to ask if I was on B/C pills (which was in my file) and said "by the way, these will interefere". That shouldn't have been an afterthought! Last time, I went with a concern that I might have a UTI, and while I was in the middle of describing symptoms, he answered his cell TWICE. Didn't even say "just a minute" to me, let alone apologize. I just had to stop talking while he took a call asking for a new prescription (I could here both sides of the call). He wrote me a prescrip, but I had to specfically ask for a urine test as I was more concerned about knowing what was wrong than taking pills on spec. That wasn't his concern, though.

I have found that Dr. West's main priority now is himself. There is no time for the patients and I have found myself waiting in the waiting room for over two hours on average for my appointments, only to be moved to an exam room to wait for another 1/2 to 45 minutes or more. Once he comes in he will only discuss one issue with you and rushes you out telling you to book another appointment to discuss anything else. He used to be very compassionate and take time with his patients, now I feel that we are only a $ in the bank and a pain in the butt! If you have three hours to wait for your appointments for all of three minutes, then go for it, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this Dr.

We called him Dr-Do-Nuthin as he rarely even checked my husbands BP or listened to his Lungs( a COPD patient.) We had long wait times as well. He discharged (on paper) a wrong patient from the hospital when we were waiting for my husband to be released.On office visits he would ask " what drugs do you want?" He took my friends records when her Dr left his office and wouldn't release them to them or their dr with out a fee tho he had never treated this elderly couple. I overheard nurses at the hospital complaining about how him as well. I have no respect or professional regard for this man who often didnt seem to know what he was talking about and i would like to verify his education!

I have found this Dr. to be friendly and outgoing. However, I always had to wait at least an hour before he saw me. I felt like I had been to a people mill and my concerns not really listened to. I would definitely not recommend him/

I have had to wait for almost 2hrs in the office before and almost another half an hour in the room only to be rushed out and not really helped at all. The staff isn't much help either, they just want to rush you in and rush you out. I was told I had to loose weight, and was told to go on a Detox diet. I'm a Diabetic, that’s one of the most dangerous things I could do. I constantly got appointments canceled on me and changed without my approval; once I had a specialist appointment booked and wasn't even told until the day before my appointment. My Grandmother has also gone to him for along time and has some of the same, and other, issues as me. She has been misdiagnosed and given the wrong medication that reacted with medication she had already been taking. I am so much happier with my new doctor and I have recommended her to numerous people.

Dr West is knowledgeable and kind, but he u would have to book multiple appointments for multiple issues. Talking to him was rushed and one felt dismissed. His office wait times are ridiculous; I repeatedly had to wait up to 21/2 - 3 hours in the waiting room and more in exam room. Once, I asked his staff if my appt was for am or pm. I got in shortly after that! His staff is extremely rude right from contact on the phone and worse in person. Dr is definitely making a profit by double, triple booking – in fact I was called once from Medical to confirm I had appt with him on one date – he was claiming it – and I had switched doctors months before that and I had not been there. Sad, but true, and the list goes on and on.

Front office staff extremely rude, horribly long wait times, when you get to see West he rushes you out and makes you feel like he cant be bothered with you. He is knowledgable in many fields but spends max about 5/6 minutes with you. Should be ten. or 6 patients an hour. Business man first, doctor second, tries to sell you amway or get you to sign up for it. More about money for him than wellbeing of the patient. Lectures you on your weight but himself is very overweight. Not very helpful. When I had broken leg, he made terrible mistake on prescription and was without pain medication for 5 days, used to spend time with patients when first opened practice and even made housecalls when needed, now no time for anyone, shoves you out the door before you have a chance to really say what is wrong with you. If you say something he says, make another appointment. Bah Humbug. Cant find another DR. as they all have closed practices.

A great business man but a horrible physician. Up to an hour long in the waiting room. He is in such a hurry to give a quick prescription he missed a diagnosis that could have been life threatening. Luckily for us we went to a new doctor and received the proper attention. PLEASE BE CAREFULL.

Unprosfessional. Does not the meaning of confidentiality. Be very wary of privacy when seeing this doctor. He has shared confidential information openly with me regarding other patients. The wait time is unimaginable, and it happens time and time again without apology or change. I don't recommend this Doctor to anyone. Remember.. you have a choice. Make a good one.

The biggest complaint I would ever have is you usually end up waiting an hour, at LEAST, to see Dr. West. As a person, though, he's very nice. I have seen him in a bad mood, and it does change his mannerisms towards you, though it's not common. He can be ... blunt when he tells you what is wrong. But I like that myself. Straight-forward honesty. He knows what he practices, he cares about his patients ... I think he jsut might have to many!

Horrible horrible experiences. Was my family dr for 2 years and my wait was never less than an hour in his waiting room! Was very quick though with pulling out the perscription pad or just plain calling in the order for you even if you didn't want/need it. Also send my files to the wrong place a few times as well as forgot to send important papers to specialists while i was going through a difficult pregnancy. And then to top it all off he suggested i was just "looking for something to be wrong" 2 big thumbs down!!

The wait times in this office were completely ridiculous. I've had to wait in the office for over an hour with three or four kids. I was told he triple booked. Also his office is in a very seedy part of town and I have been worried about my safety in his office as well as outside, and have had my purse stolen while there. He rushes the appt so much that I often walked out of there forgetting about things and not getting the proper help. Businessman first, doctor far down his list. When my baby was born, he didn't make the birth and didn't even come to the hospital to see us (and then didn't check us out, just said hi) until 5 hours later. I switched doctors and it took months for my file to be transfered.

First off let me say that Jacque is a friendly man who is knowledgeable and kind. However, this is where the praise stops. His office is a joke. The wait times are ridiculous; I repeatedly had to wait up to 2 hours, just in the waiting room, then more in the little room. I would book the first appointment on Saturday to avoid the wait time and then he would sleep-in and show up an hour late. Not very professional. His staff is completely incompetent. One of the assistants asked my husband and I what a Doppler was after the doctor requested her to get it. Then she asked us not to tell the doctor she didn't know what it was. Scary. A different assistant threw away my urine sample before she tested my pregnancy and had to scoop it out of the garbage to test it. Brilliant! Jacque is definitely making a profit. He would not see me for more than one thing, I would have to book multiple appointments for multiple prescriptions. I could go on and on, however I have a word limit. Beware!

Terrible wait times ~ average for me is an hour and this includes waiting with children. The staff are not very helpful and have been rude on the phone and in the office. When you finally get to see the Doctor he has a tendency to rush things to move on. He seems to spend more time on the phone than listening to his patients. If there were doctors accepting patients I would transfer but I have no other option than to put up with the crap.

The wait times are unacceptable. Once I waited 1 hr 45 mins. He wrote the presc. wrong and wouldn't phone the pharmacy. Had to make another appt. to get right presc. Wanted me to make appt that he'd get paid by med plan to sign my passport

Dr West would be a great Doctor to go to, if he would hire more patient friendly and competent staff and try to be more prompt. Average waiting time for my appointments has been about an hour. His knowledge and experience is amazing. But things seem to fall short where his staff comes in.
