Jackson was grossly negligent in the care of my father when my father was admitted to Vernon Jubilee Hospital thru the Emerg Department. He refused to treat him even though he was "Doctor of the Day" and even though my father was in serious condition - suffering from congenitive heart failure, pneumonia amongst other serious issues - he wrote 3 discharge orders on him in a 48hour period each of which the family had to fight in order to keep my father in. This poor excuse for a human being needs to be fired. He does not deserve the title of a Doctor. We will be filing a complaint with the college of physicians and surgeons. I encourage all others who received negligent care from this loser to do the same. Here is the website: https://www.cpsbc.ca/public-info/complaints-and-concerns#2

Wow. I was floored when I read the comments regarding Dr Jackson. I was refered to this site by a friend after telling her how pleased I was with my new doctor. I have been seeing him regularly regarding some challenging problems and he has been helpful, courteous, and clearly knowledgable. And his support staff is easly the friendliest I've seen in a LONG time. They already know my name without asking. I even talked to Dr Jackson about this Web site. He acknowledged that he was aware of it, and he shared his thoughts on it with me. I was satisfied with both his views and with his receptiveness to discussing it. I suggest any patients - or prospective patients talk to him about this before making judgements. p.s. For what it is worth, I have NEVER taken time to do this sort of thing before!

No question about it..."jackon" is absolutely the worst Dr I have ever seen. I went to him for a serious sinus , throat & nose infection, with a morning appointment. He was 1.5 hrs late. Noon came. I overheard the staff say he actually was eating instead of taking his morning appointments who by this time were a little hungry themselves. After his dinner I was examined for all of two minutes, told to go home & take Tylenol. By this time I was in severe pain & the sinus infection was coming out my eyes. I went to the walk in clinic where a real Dr. prescribed the strongest antibiotic he could & something for my eye by which time I could not see through. When he lectured me for not coming in sooner
I told him I had seen "jackson" & he was not surprised. Dr Jackson...pardon me..."just jackson" ....should look for another line of work & I see from the above he is not all qualified to be the Wal-Mart greeter besides, those people are too nice, maybe he could be a car repo man.

Absolutely the worst Dr I have ever been to. Rude, arrogant, smug, incompetant. All the negative things people have to say on this website are true. We reported him to the collge of P&S, but to no avail. He should have his license pulled.

I am new to Vernon and brought my family to see Dr. Jackson. He knew what he was talking about and helped my sick son by diagnosing an ear infection and getting him on medicine.

3 strikes your out! 1>he did not what to play hard ball on a insurance claim so I lost 17g 2>he asked me to take my mom out of hospital and I did, so 4 days later she died from dehydration (no intervenes available) 3>would not play hard ball on my CPP disability application! he all ways puts "patient feels" instead of I the DR. feel this person is unable or disabled or what ever the case might be. I wish I could find the folks that have that malpractice claim against him I would climb aboard with them, but for now I am glad he is out of Armstrong now the quack might be able to hide better in Vernon now...

I took my 4 month old baby in to see him as I was preparing to fly to Alberta and he was just getting over a cold. I wanted to make sure that it was OK for him to fly. He was an extremely healthy breast fed baby. This doctor asked me if I was raising a heifer. He then proceeded to tell me that an overweight baby has been linked to obesity in adulthood and that I should limit the amount of breast milk that I am giving him. How pathetic.... to tell someone to put their healthy breastfed baby on a diet. My son is now 5 years old and is perfectly healthy and at a perfect weight. I can't believe that this doctor still has a license to practice medicine.

Everyone said not to see him, I did so anyway. Worst Dr. I've had in my short 52 yrs. After numerous visits for chronic backpain I received not one physical exam or x-ray, he offered drugs rather than try to find out what the problem was. I finally went to the walk-in clinic. There a different Dr. physically examined me,sent me for x-rays and told me he would have the results in a couple of days. My injury was work related but due to the good Dr's negligent paperwork my medical claim was been rejected. I've now been off work for 5 mths with no compensation. My hopes rest on the new Dr. being more dedicated to his profession and his patients. Dr. Jackson should be forced to quit.

I have encountered Dr. Jackson only once (though I've heard countless horror stories). My children and husband were all diagnosed with strep throat and I was showing all the symptoms as well. I went in to the walk-in clinic and he refused to test me. After politely insisting that I needed to be swabbed, as I was certain I had strep throat, he adamantly and rudely refused. At that point, I phoned my own doctor to see if I could be seen on short notice. They managed to fit me in, but once I was there, found out that the only way I could be swabbed was if I paid $40, as BCMed won't pay for a patient to be seen twice in the same day for the same illness. My doctor's office staff couldn't believe that Jackson wouldn't test me. It turns out that I did have strep throat. I always phone the walk-in clinic before I go there and check to see if Jackson is the attending physician. I would encourage you all to do the same, and please don't allow your loved ones to be treated by this man.

Dr. J, do you not read this page or are you afraid to? Seriously, this is awful. One more thing - I know your in a hurry all the time, but please at least close the door when your talking to a patient, it will only take an extra 5 seconds to open it to run to the next poor guy waiting to see you.

Why is he being allowed to practice still? He continuously missed a diagnosis of pneumonia, which really is not very difficult for a knowledgeable laymen to suspect. I wonder how many have not lived to report??

I have been a patient of Dr. Jackson's for 10 years. I have recently heard about this website and was shocked to see some of these comments. I have found Dr. Jackson to be knowledgeable, caring, and kind. He has given me good medical care and I can think of nothing bad to say about him.

This Doctor is one of the worst I have ever incountered!!! I went to see him with my mother a couple of years ago, as she had been sick for two weeks! He hadn't done any tests or anything to help her.. he just kept sending her home and said she had the flue! She ended up having a heart attack. But when I was this Doc. I just asked if he could give her some simple tests, and he went off the deep end.. told me to get out of his office, and wouldn't look at my mother until I left! I waited for Mom in the waiting room and after leaving we got a wonderful Doc. in Enderby!! Thank God! I wrote the Physicians & Surgeons and they wrote a letter repremanding Doc. Jackson, but he should not be able to practice anymore, especially reading all these negative conments!! UNREAL!!

I moved to Armstong about 9 yrs ago and unfortunately Jackson was the only Dr. accepting patience at that time. The first visit to see him was different. Don't know how else to discribe it. And at the end he said to me " So are you going to be a regular patient?" I thought that was an odd thing to say. Over the years i brought my children in for numerious complaints. And he was usually distant about the whole visit. But the one thing that really opened my eyes up to his ways was when I opted to wean myself off the drug Effexor (that he prescribed) for fibromyalgia. He said straight to my face that he wouldnt give me the new prescrition for the lower dosage and that i was doomed to fail. I fought with him for over an hour and eventually getting my way. But as i walked out the door i swore that i was never going back to him again. nice way to treat your patients. nothing but a pill pusher in my view.

Jerkson (as known by many) was my doctor briefly-thankfully no more. A horrid man, always looked at his watch as though I was making him late for something more important. So rude, arrogant and not interested in the poor sick people who pay his salary. Such a travesty of justice that he is allowed to practice medicine, and practice is all he is capable of! I totally lost faith in the medical system after dealing with him & now see a Naturepath- Dr. Spooner is a kind, caring & competant doctor, such a refreshing change! Oh, Jackson tried to charge me $15 to send my files to the new doctor, I told him to go screw himself.

he replaced my awesome doctor, when I went in he said I had one thing or maybe something else, not even close, prescribed antibiotics, I had a reaction, went back he told me it was my body and I could jump off a bridge for all he cared. How attentive to the needs of the patient imediately changed doctors then he charged me 15.00 to have my file sent to my new doctor. After being treated like that he had the nerve to do that, I guess because he had to make money some way because as a physician he sucks

Dr. Jackson is well known in Armstrong as being a "last resort" doctor. I had to go to him when my doctor retired as there was no one else taking new patients. I didn't want to as he at one time had told me I was 'stupid' for not coming to him sooner when I had a UTI. He seemed to be helping me somewhat this time although always condescending and rude. I persuaded my husband who sufferred a serious head injury 6 years ago to see him for pain med. He didn't even interview my husband. He leaned back in his chair and said that he would not take him as a patient because he was afraid of him and intimidated by him. My husband is an ordinary looking 60 yr old..nothing scary about him. Dr. J's attitude was rude, angry, hostile, and demeaning. We were so shocked, we just got up and left. I believe this man should be removed from practice. I think he is mentally unstable and a danger to others!!!!

New to town I wish I had read this site prior to my first visit. I concur with many of the comments regarding this doctor's attitude and efforts. His comment after receiving my file was, you expect me to read this, through me as he had requested that I make this appointment after he had had time to review my past doctor and specialist notes. Over all he gives the impression he is too busy to see you. He would not check out a vagial rash I described, saying it sounded like herpies and there was nothing to be done about this. I like others will not return.

I have had the misfortune of having to meet with Jackson on 2 occasions.1) Had a tatoo done and ended up with a rash. Went to see him and he never even looked at it just said to me " Tatoo? Well then it is hepatitis you need blood work to find out how sick you are." Turns out it was nothing but an allergic reaction to the lanolin in the lotion from the tatoo parlor. 2) 8 mths pregnant and holding my very sick 5yr old.Who had been vomiting/diarrhea for 2 days. Jackson was rude dismissive and totally without compassion. Told me to quit coddling my son. Did end up with a Gravol shot, only after I said I wasn't leaving until he did something. On my way out he wouldn't even open his office door for me. Had to put my hysterical son down to open it up myself. Jackson is arrogant, rude and for a small town doctor that is a bad combination.

I saw this "doctor" at the walkin clinic. I had my son (3yr old) there (in June) due to my son complaining about stomach ache, being tired, etc. I told this idiot what my son was complaining of and he told me that if I was so concerned to take him to my own doctor or the pediatrician...he wouldn't even look at him. I sent a letter of complain to the walkin clinic to find that this jerk is in charge of the walkin clinic...I got a letter from a different doctor apologizing for what happened...I never once got an apology from Dr. Jackson and my son's condition persisted for awhile until I could get to my own doctor. I doubt that he even had to give an account for what he did or how he treated us. This man should have his license taken away!!!!!!!!! I am so angry that I can't describe to you how much!!!!!!!!

I wonder what ever made this man think he should be a doctor...it's not his true caring for his fellow human beings at all. He's way above the rest of us, at least in his mind. His bedside manner is non-existant. I have been having commonly-known but negative side affects from a drug he put me on, that I should not be having, and he basically tells me to suck it up and stay on it! His waiting room was rude too, I found; it's full of elderly patients, and the pop music was cranked! When I frankly told him that 70 yr olds don't want to hear screaming guitars and Lenny Kravitz, but maybe something more relaxing, he didn't care a bit. These are just tid-bit examples, but every visit was filled with pomposity beyond belief. He must have thought I was really stupid. I only had to see this man three times, and I will not be going back. Too bad for some of those folks who really need a caring doctor, they've got the wrong guy.

Wow, after reading these opinions, I hardly need waste my time, but anyway....he has got to be the worst Dr (I use the term loosley)I have encountered. Rude, mannerless, vain to say the least. My Dr of many years retired & was forced to try this guy. After 3 visits for hypertension I was out of there & now drive to Enderby for medical attention. It goes to show what a mess this province is in regarding medical care when a guy like this is allowed to call himself a doctor. A vet would be more useful!

misdiagnosed me, and didn,t want to see me when I went to him at his walkin clinic. Said he preferred to see his patients in his office. didn,t give me a chance to tell him that the pharmacist recommended that I see him asap. I,m afraid I ended up telling him what he could do with himself. I saw another Dr. and got properly diagnosed, but my condition went over 2 months with incorrect medication because Jackson did not want to discuss my problem each time I broached the subject. Not only does he have poor bedside manner, but his sterile technique needs to be reviewed.

I had to see this doctor as mine was on vacation. I had never met the man before and he was barely in the room when he asked me if I was on narcotics. I was shocked at such a ridiculous way to greet someone for the first time. When I said no that I was not on narcotics he said, oh, well all of Dr. "X"s patients that I see are on narcotics. Yes he certainly is a jerk. A woman told me that a young mother had taken her child to him and he was about to give the child an injection when the mother changed her mind. He threw the syringe across the room and it hit the wall and he said, well that's a waste of $20.00. Now we are without a family doctor but hell would have to freeze over first before I would see this man again.

Why this man is allowed to continue to practice medicine, I will never know. The only comments on this page with smiley faces were most likely left my him or a close relative. His overinflated ego is astounding, and his bedside manner appalling. I hear horror stories about this man. A good doctor treats his patients with respect and courtesy. He is horribly **** - the only patients he treats with any care or consideration are men of around his age. Women, children, and the elderly would do good to avoid this awful person.

I have never met such a rude doctor before EVER. I took my son to him only because our reg doctor was unavailable, he misdiagnosed my son's broken wrist. Told me to quit babying him - that it wasn't that bad and made us feel like we had wasted his time when it is our time that pays his bills. When I got my son to the walk-in-clinic the next day, it was too late to do anything with it so now he has pain in his wrist all the time. Quit babying him?? What a jerk!!! And to boot, he tells me that he is accepting new patients. What a joke, not in this lifetime. We are now going to a doctor in Vernon, a bit out of the way but worth it.

I visit him as little as possible. Rather use a walk in clinic. He misdiagnosed a skin problem I have for a year before getting it correct. I had to get a prescription from a walk in clinic as he said just to eat yogurt!!! Will be changing my family doctor as soon as I need to as there are other medical visits I dread going to him for. The problem is that it is difficult to get a doctor in this area. Can see now why he is available for new patients.

As a community care aide one of my duties was to accompany senior clients on doctor visits when they had no family able to speak for them. Dr. Jackson told one lady not to return as she was wasting his time. She was cognitive enough to say that she had never felt so insulted in her life. Another client noted that her husband liked this doctor, felt respected. However, the wife felt that the doctor was not interested in her input regarding her husband, even though she accompanied her husband at his request, for this reason. My opinion of this doctor is formed by the reactions of clients in my care, and that is that I would not recommend him to anyone I cared for. One is advised to seek opinions of other patients when selecting a family doctor. And be guided by the responses...

I've never been treated as rudely by anyone as I was by this doctor. He seems to forget that the very presence of the patients is what pays his bills. He is rude and condescending and more importantly, not helpful. He would have been paid for doing absolutely nothing for me. I fail to understand why the College of Physicians allow him to continue practicing. That will be the next letter I write.

This man has made comments that are demeaning rude and just plain nasty. I think that he has forgotten that he works for the people and not the other way around. Having had a pregnancy scare I was frantic saying that I just didn't know what I would do if I were pregnant, my husband and I have 3 kids and are both working but on a limited income. His answer to me was that he and his wife were looking to adopt!! This man is ridiculous!

Found Dr. Jackson personable, efficient, business first and some time to discuss further questions if necessary. Office clean and quiet, staff on the ball. Have been told by others that Dr. Jackson can be abrupt, however, I believe since he is in an area of seniors who generally want to visit and chit chat, he has had to limit his time in order to do what he is there to do. On first meeting him I told him that my husband had been lost in the system several time by other doctors where we had lived and I would be somewhat aggresive if I saw it happening again. He understood where I was coming from and we are on the same page, so we will continue to see him.

We quite like Dr. Jackson as our family doctor. He takes the time to listen and refer as appropriate. He does not "dance around" issues and will let you know in no uncertain terms what he expects from you i.e. know what medications you are on, their strenghth and what they are for! If people take offense to this they need to find another doctor.

This doctor has somewhat of a god complex going on. He's certain that he's a gift to the medical world, even though he's often way off in left field and ends up hurting clients more than helping them. This doctor casted a broken wrist for me, within a day, my entire arm was numb, I spent 5 months in a cast I was supposed to be in for 3 weeks, and to this day, the bone is still broken from him. My only option is to have it rebroken, or live with a wrist that gives me problems daily. Stay away. Treat yourself, you'd be better off.

What a horrible doctor. No tact or compassion at all. Wanted me to come in and see him the day after I arrived home from the hospital after having a double mastectomy with reconstruction surgery to get a referral for a raised toilet seat and walker. After explaining the situation and the fact that I couldn't even walk yet, let alone sit in a car, he still said no. I wouldn't refer this doctor to my worst enemy.

What a terrible doctor he is...he doesn't listen to you when you try to explain your symptoms..he gives his diagnosis without hearing all the facts, writes a prescription and out the door you go,he doesn't care!...I won't be back to him.I would rather take my chances at a walk-in clinic.

Dr.jackson is by far the worse doctor I have seen in my life. He has misdiagnosed many members of my family. Is very arrogant and rude. I asked for a prescription refill a couple days before I was due so that I wouldnt run out and carry on with my daily routine, but instead he refused to do so. Instead he called me a drug dealer, and refuses to refill it. Cut me off cold turkey. Causing turmoil in my family and nearly costing me my job. Then he sent letters to all walk-in clinics stating that only he is allowed to refill the prescription. Which makes it a dead end for me. All I have to say is thank you Mr. Jackson for everything. I would never refer you to even my worst enemy. Myself and others would gladly agree that it is time for a career change, as you are nothing but a waste of the health care systems money.

We found Dr.Jackson to be arrogant and rude. He was more concerned with seeing the next patient than in what medical problems we had.

I like the fact that He tells you how it really is and doesnt sugar coat anything. He was very helpful in referring me to a specialist in record time. He gets down to the root of the problem quickly and is very compassionate.

This man should not have a licence to practice medicine. He is not a very good doctor. I went to the walk in clinic for the first time and he told me to go ahead and take a whole container of pills .... what did it matter as I was considered terminal. Well Dr. Jackson I hope you are reading this as now it is a whole year later and I am still here. I wrote a letter to the Physicians and Surgeons of BC but I see you still are practicing and yes that is exactly what you do practice as you will never get it right!!

Sent me a letter dropping me as a client because I visited a walk-in clinic that is beside my office. Said it was "disrespectful". Horrible bed-side manner, is oblivious to patients' pain. Strongly advise going to anyone but him!

Dr Jackson has no idea of how to treat his patients. He misdiagnosed me, and could not tell me what to even do to help get better. He is rude and figures he is right even when he knows he is wrong.

Is quite a jerk, don't think I have ever met anyone with less compassion. Misdiagnosed me, and wasn't even concerned about it!

obviously hates people, loves himself. Word of advice is Compassion is first medicine. He has none. May be quite knowledgeable albeit useless to him when he just doesn't give a damn. When his mind is made up he can't be confused by FACTS.
