30/11/10 5 4 4 4 Dr.Mader is a good doctor. She is very efficient, a much needed attribute in our health care system. The majority of the time, she has been most helpful in dealing with my health problems.  Respond

30/01/10 5 4 2 2 I had many symptoms of a common chronic illness I believe Dr. Mader should have found. She did not, despite three + years of complaints to her. My new GP had the preliminary (correct) diagnosis as of the first visit. Perhaps her speciality is mothers & babies but I feel she should have had a better grasp of other types of medical problems.  Respond

15/01/10 4 4 5 5 i have been a patient of dr. mader's for 14 years now and would not even consider going elsewhere. as other comments suggest, she is not a dr to chit-chat but that is good when you are pressed for time. she is very thorough and will listen to everything you have to say and will make sure you receive the tests you need. after hearing the horror stories from co-workers about their dr's and the trouble they have getting appointments to see them, dr. mader is the perfect dr. if you have an urgent matter that needs to be seen too asap, they always seem to get you in (even if you have to wait a bit longer at least you are getting seen to) she was there for the birth of my son and now my husband is her patient. keep up the good work dr. mader!!!  Respond

25/11/09 5 5 3 4 Dr. Mader is very punctual and helpful when you ask. But she doesn't go beyond the problem you bring to the table.  Respond

22/10/09 5 4 5 5 Dr. Mader has been my family doctor for close to 10 years and has seen me through 3 pregnancies. She is very knowledgeable but does not hesitate to aske for second opinions, and is always available to answer questions. As other people have said, she is a bit stiff and can appear cold or distant. She is not the doctor for you if you prefer someone you can chit chat or joke around with. She is very business-like. That being said, she is very caring. I recommend her highly.  Respond

07/07/09 5 5 5 5 At first I thought Dr.Mater was cold, but after a couple of appointments I realized that she is just a quiet and shy person. She was very concerned for my health and happiness, as well as my baby's health and was always very accessible via phone and by appointment whenever I needed her.She also confired with other Dr's for opinions when was needed.During my delivery she was strong and supportive and really pushed me through. This was my second baby; the first being born in another province, and this baby was larger (10lbs 2oz)than the first, and I'm glad she was there for us both.  Respond

16/07/08 3 2 2 2 I had Dr. Mader several years ago for the birth of my 1st child. I was only young at the time and I didn't feel as if she listened to me when I told her my concerns. She had an "I'm the doctor and you are just a kid" sort of attitude. When I did go in the last time to see her before my son was born, my water had broke and she told me it hadn't...2 days later he was born, during the delivery she tried to break my water (surprise surprise it had already broke). 2 weeks later my son is in the hospital in isolation with an infection, I'm assuming, was caused from being without amniotic fluid for almost 3 days.....  Respond

02/07/08 5 5 4 4 I've been with Dr. Mader for 12 years. She delivered my daughter. She is a very straightforward, to-the-point doctor. She is very experienced and knowledgeable in the areas of pre- and post-natal care for both women and children. If you want someone to be friendly and/or engage in small talk, then Dr. Mader is NOT the doctor for you. But I really like her because I'd prefer to get down to business and get things done. I also don't depend on just my doctor for the maintenance of my health. I take full responsibility for my health and that's why I do my own research, see my doctor and see other professionals (such as a naturopath, a massage therapist, etc.). This is why I consider Dr. Mader to be just one part of my health care "team" and thus respect and appreciate her to-the-point approach.  Respond

18/12/07 5 4 5 4 Dr. Mader has been my family doc for 13 years. She has been accessible and helpful. When in doubt, she refers to a specialist or orders tests. I like her common sense approach. Her affect may be 'flat', but who cares? She's a doc, not a hand-holder. Her concern is genuine, however. She is also very helpful with special requests for forms, letters, phone calls and 'sample meds' etc, at no cost to patients in financial need. She is usually available on short notice. She normally has sufficient time to spend with her patients. If patients booked times appropriately, all doc offices would run more smoothly. ie identifying that they require 15 mins. for a pap test, and not going in with a long and vague list of complaints. I would recommend Doc. Mader highly. She is well liked in the community and has earned respect from her peers. That's good for her patients who need to connect to a specialist.  Respond

18/09/07 4 4 5 5 Dr.Mader has been my doctor for 9 years. She followed me through a pregnancy and I found her to be very caring and always had time for my questions. Although I rarely see her more than once a year, she always asks questions about my kids and seems to remember who I am. I have never once questioned her knowledge. She is very professional and caring.  Respond

21/04/07 5 5 5 Dr. Mader is a very caring, understanding, and a very knowledgeable Doctor but she does at first come across as not as cheery and bubbly as some people, and maybe seems a bit shy, BUT she knows her stuff and she follows up and makes time when you need it. Dr. Mader IS very caring. In the past 18 months she has seen us through 1 miscarriage, 1 pregnancy we had to end at 5 months and our current 5.5 month pregressing pregnancy. She has been very informative and open and understanding, and responsive to my many questions and concerns. I definately recommend Dr. Mader as a pre-natal doctor!  Respond

17/04/07 4 5 5 Dr Mader is very knowledgeable. I think she is a good doctor. I would trust her diagnosis. Unfortunately she has a flat personality.I changed to another doctor because of this. It is difficult to try to get feedback when she appears disinterested.  Respond

15/02/07 4 2 3 I was a patient of Dr. Mader several years ago. I, like others have rated, did not warm up to Dr. Mader. She never smiled and it was always uncomfortable and awkward when visiting. She never seemed bothered to ask questions about me. All these years I thought she didnt' like me for some reason. I left her when I got pregnant and found a new doctor who makes me feel very comfortable. I couldnt' imagine leaving my son's care in the hands of someone I felt uncomfortable around. Her knowledge as a doctor could be very good, but the most important thing for me is to feel comfortable and to have trust your doctor is going to help you and make decisions you would want... I never felt these with Dr. Mader.  Respond

17/01/07 5 4 5 Dr. Mader is very to the point. She always answered my questions, but didn't seem like she was interested in finding out any details, it always seemed impersonal. Appointments always seemed rushed. Her manner is very nice.  Respond

09/01/07 3 4 5 Dr. Mader was always very rushed and asked me very few questions. I was never comfortable that she had really ascertained what was wrong with me. (Not that I ever had anything serious, thank goodness.)  Respond
