My whole family and their families go to Dr. Hartman. We all love him. He has a great sense of humour and he knows what he is talking about. Even though I know he is very busy, he takes the time to listen to multiple issues (if need be), and find out what's going on. He is great with children too. Dr. Hartman is one of the best family doctors that I have had and I count myself lucky do be his patient.

Dr.Hartman is a wonderful doctor. I had several issues that werent being resolved with other previous doctors and Hartman took the time to listen to my concerns. He is VERY friendly, VERY professional, and makes you feel VERY comfortable. I wouldnt pick a better doctor! I moved to sherwood park 2 years ago, and still go all the way to millwoods to see him.

My regular doctor was on vacation, so was a bit nervous going to see a different one. I very much felt as though he was not really interested in why I came to the office in the first place. He didn't ask me any pertinent questions, and after about a minute, he left. I was worried about an ear infection, so he checked my ears. But did not listen to my chest or check my throat as it had been sore as well. I found him to be extremely impersonal and I felt that I was interfering with his busy schedule.... an empty doctor's office.. I will never go back to see this doctor..

Dr.Hartman is an AMAZING Doctor. When other doctors brushed off my dad's issue as if it was nothing, he took the time to send my dad out to a specialist and get the information and results quickly - I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hartman - he has saved my dad from something that could have been worse if not caught and taken care of !! I have full trust in Dr. Hartman and am extremely glad; especially right now being in 'Alberta' that he cares enough about my family and I !!

Dr Hartman is a fantastic doctor doing a phenomenal job. He goes beyond out of his way to take care of his patients even when it cuts into his personal time. He delivered both our children in the middle of the night and was there within minutes once the staff called him. You also dont have to book with him weeks in advance and can often get in to see him quite quickly. Its rare to have a doctor that remembers your name, face and medical history without having to recap each and every time you see them.

I have been Dr Hartmans patient for about 8 years and I have always been happy with him. He takes the time to explain things to me but he doesn't overload me with useless information to try and sound smart (like some doctors do). He is very friendly. I ran into him out of his office when I first became a patient and he actually remembered who I was. He delivered my baby and being a new mom, I always have lots of questions for him. He doesn't mind if I obsess and come in about the same thing a couple of times. He even offers up advice based on his own experiences with his children. He treats me with the same care I would imagine he would treat his own family with. He has good bed-side manner and a great sense of humour. He is a good doctor and a good person and I would highly recommend him (and have on many occasions).

I've been seeing him for about 20 yrs and the only problem I had was a few years ago I was sure something was very wrong with me but he would not send me for further tests, one of the Dr's covering while he was on vacation sent me to a specialist and that's how I found out it was a non-cancerous tumor, I was very upset and considered switching doctors but I held out and I don't know if other people complained to him or not but something in his manner changed, he follows up more and is very friendly and helpful, he listens to what I have to say and doesn't make me feel dumb. Everyone in my family sees him and when my grandmother passed away he actually took time out of his day to come to the funeral, I really appreciated that. He's a really good doctor and I will definitely continue to see him, especially now that I've grown up and am willing to open my mouth if I don't feel he's listening to me. I don't think I could find a better doctor.

I love this dr. I am very happy he is going to be delivering my baby. He is great, if I needed a test he sent me right away, he would fit me in last minute and he even called with my test results...to ease my mind. He is one of a kind...!!! OH and he is funny too...!

Dr. Hartman has been my doctor for almost 20 years, and seen myself and my family through some very difficult times. I appreciate his willingness to take extra time when needed to answer all my questions. I too do "layman's research" (don't we all nowadays?), and when I bring up questions or concerns, Dr. Hartman is never impatient, but always responds openly and shares what he knows. Even more important to me, he freely admits what he doesn't know, and does his own research or refers me to a specialist (not that it's been necessary more than 2 or 3 times in 20 years). He is compassionate, knowledgable, and sincere. I like that he takes more than just the immediate symptoms into consideration, but asks about other influences (work or family stress, etc). Contrary to another opinion given, I've ever found him to be a "pill pusher", in fact medication is often the last resort, as he takes a holistic approach to my health care. My selfish hope is that he doesn't plan to retire early!

It doesn't seem very common anymore to find a family doctor who also delivers babies so I was very pleased when I found Dr. Hartman. I think he's a great doctor who always seems genuinely interested in my health and the health of my family. Very good bedside manners and an excellant sense of humour!

Dr. Hartman is the only reason that I found out about my condition. I was pushed off by many other doctors as it being all in my head. Not only did he take the time to listen to me he followed through on the tests and was very knowledgeable. When he came across something he was not to sharp on he ADMITTED it and sent me to a specialist instead of pretending that he had all the answers. To me this is unquestionably an outstanding doctor!

By far the best practitioner I have ever had. He listens to all concerns, no matter how menial. He has been my doctor since I was pregnant (I was referred by a supervisor at work). He is both of my sons' doctor & now my husband's. He takes family situation into account when problems arise (husband used to smoke, how did it affect children, etc.). Our oldest got a concussion in K, and CT scan showed a cyst. He recommended a non-urgent MRI, however we didn't want to wait, so paid for one immdediately. He followed up on the diagnosis, and eventually referred us to a Ped Neurologist, even though he didn't think it was warranted. Contrary to other opinions, he has never shown displeasure at us seeing other doctors for areas of specialty (asthma, neurology). He is the best out there, by far, and I've told him that if he ever moves from Edmonton, we will be following him. It took me 29 years to find a doctor this good... I'm not letting him go!

Dr Hartman is the best doctor I have ever been to. I trust him completly with my family. I was referred to him 3 years ago with serous health problems and he has alway gone above and beyond to help us out, wheather it meant phones calls or stopping by after office hours. Dr. H. is always ready to listen and help solve the problems instead of just giving out prescriptions. I would recomend him to anyone. :O)

I was referred to Darrell almost 20 yrs ago. He has consistently been a good doctor to me. He has good bedside manner with a sense of humour without stepping over the line. I agree, at times, I have felt rushed and forgot to bring up issues, but everything I have mentioned to him was addressed to my satisfaction. There were a few concerns I brought up that he suggested may not be serious, so I waited before seeking treatment. Any time I returned still concerned about these symptoms, Dr. Hartman then acted upon my concerns. I have also referred other family members and friends who are still patients, happy with Dr. Hartman.

I have been with Mr Hartman, since i was a young child. He seems to not take my issues as serious as i do. Every time i leave i feel i was rushed and needing more answers. I still have some to the same issues and are currently seaking another doctor. Nice guy but i don't think he is getting the job done.

I have been seeing Darrell for many years now and have been more than satisfied with his collaboration on my health. He is respectful and attentive and addresses all your concerns as long as they are founded and of sound mind. He has helped me through some difficult health situations and made me comfortable with his knowledge, compassion and cooperation in helping me live a healthy life. Our health is ultimately our responsiblity. Some problems just happen but most are due to the years of abuse we inflict on ourselves. Much to the chagrin of the population there is no "quick fix" for years of abuse. Darrell is the perfect mentor and advocate to get us back on the right path and help us to mend our self inflicted ills and guide us through those unexplained ills as well.

Dr. Hartman has been our family doctor for many years. We have been very pleased with Dr. Hartman's style and manner. My wife and I have referred extended family and friends to Dr. Hartman, and to my knowledge all have been very impressed by this man's practice. He is thoughtful and considered when prescribing treatment and medication... he wants to be sure that he is doing the right thing. If you ask for something such as a prescription, referral or note... he wants to know why, and he wants to consider the rationality of your request before putting his name on the line. I fully respect that about a doctor. It shows integrity. Too many doctors will write a prescription to get you out of their office. That is irresponsible. For me and my family, I want a resposible doctor... and that is what we have with Dr. Hartman. They should all be as Good!

I would not recommend this doctor to any one. After my husband had a minor heart attack he sent him home, and refused to follow-up with him. I asked what could be done but he did not take us seriously. Everything is just "fine" with him and he doesn't feel it is necessary to follow up with problems. I wouldn't trust this doctor with my life or any of my family member's lives.

Darrell's been our doctor for over 15 years. He's attentive, helpful and extremely patient. An example of Darrell Hartman's kindness: Shortly before my Dad developed dementia, his life-long physician retired. Dr. Hartman stepped right up and took over, establishing a tremendous rapport with Dad and even making unsolicited visits to him at the nursing home, just to make sure he was okay. Dr. H. tried to sort of brush it off with, "It's on my way home, no big deal" but I'll never forget his kindness and compassion.

I had Dr. Hartmen as my doctor while I was pregnant and was to deliver my baby, he was a very nice and helpfull doctor with a wonderful personality. Before him I never had a male doctor in my life and my experience was excellent. Although he never did deliver my baby (as she came too quick) it was a wonderful experience and I will have him as my doctor for my next pregnancy!!

My family doctor for 16 years. Not a very helpful doctor. was happy with him until 3 years ago when i developed a 'mysterious' illness. Will not requisition tests that he deems not neccessary, will not push referrals when asked. gives drugs over diagnosis, quick to rush me out of the office. I educate before going to visit, and he does not appreciate the fact that i am concerned with my own health. Doctors are CONSULTANTS. they work for us. how hard is it to put a check box on a requisition form?
