:) Click to report rating *  7/26/09 5 5 5 This doctor is extremely knowlegeable and talented. After going to several derms I went to this doctor. He performed Mohs Surgery on my forehead (he is the only dr in this area that know how to do Mohs). Although the wait in his office may sometimes be a little long, it is quite obvious why his office is so busy--the secret is out. Dr. Karakashian is a very talented doctor and surgeon and he practically located in our backyyards. I am so lucky to have such a high caliber doctor performing Mohs surgery on me. I was extremely pleased with the results--you would never know I had something so unsightly on my forehead---no scar was left behind. I know walk around with such confidence. I will never waste my time and money going to anyone else. It's no wonder this doctor has such a following!!!! The staff is also very knowledgeable of insurance. I noticed when I was waiting to be seen that most people do not know what kind of policies that have--shame on you!!!

:) Click to report rating *  8/19/08 4 4 5 I have been a patient of Dr. K's for several years now..he has treated me for a number of skin conditions and I have always found him to be skillful and knowledgale. I trust him completely. As for waiting time, hey, what doctors office do you go to and NOT wait...? I recenly spent 2 hours wait time for my gynecologist and in march, waited 1 hour for my GP and another 1/2 once in the examining room. As for Dr. K's staff, who cares about the attitude of the staff...my only concern is the way the doctor treats me...he is professional and kind. I think he's great. And so do a lot of other people...the waiting room is always packed!

:( Click to report rating    7/21/08 1 1 1 Horrible, Horrible experience. I had some beauty spots removed and now I have huge holes in my back, and they weren't even big spots. No one explained what they were doing and how to take care when I got home. Staff was extremely rude and wait was over 2 hours for a 15 minute procedure. Never will I go here again and I will warn everyone not to go here either!!

:( Click to report rating    7/11/08 1 1 1 Went in for face redness and broken blood vessels. After waiting 2 hours while mostly standing and watching his obnoxious parents I finally got in to see him. He said very quickly I had a "form" of Rosacia and gave a prescription. He then said I needed to get some moles removed. Wouldn't explain further about the so called "form" of Rosacia. Just use the prescription. Well, the script was for a strong cortisone cream which made the condition worse. After researching, I found that using that strength thins out your skin which then shows even more blood vessels. He only cared about and wanted to take off moles which also left scars and a couple growing back. He rushed the appointment as with others I saw while waiting. So many teenagers with mothers for acne saying they come every month and are in there for 3 minutes and come out with a prescription. Crazy over booked assembly line medicine with crazy staff/family. It's all about the money and how many they can squeeze into the booth.

:) Click to report rating    6/24/08 4 4 5 Dr. Karakashain is the best Dermatologist I have visited, and I have seen quite a few in my time. Yes, there is a wait in his office, but not always, and no longer than any other Derm MD. His staff is helpful, although sometimes overwhelmed with the volume of patients. I hear he schedules so many patients simply due to the volume of people who need to see him and he doesn't wish to turn anyone down. He takes many insurances that other Derm. MD's will not. If you NEED to get in, even on the same day, you WILL be seen. Other Dermatologists have been known to send him their toughest skin cancer cases. Dr. K. has a special talent for cancer reconstructions on the face, and uses the latest techniques for this. Also, he has a the latest procedures for acne treatment that is very successful. I highly recommend him!

:) Click to report rating    5/27/08 1 1 2 Dr. Karakashian is a very able doctor. I do not understand why he would schedule a 8:30 am appointment if he is not going to be in the office until 8:45 am. I have observed this twice while waiting. However today was the topper. While waiting for my 8:30 am appointment (the doctor not being in yet at 8:40am) a patient walked in to the waiting room. He stated that his wife had spoke to Dr. K on Sunday and the Doctor told him to come in at 8:30 am and he would take a look at his concern. And this patient was the first to be seen, without an appointment at 8:50 am when the doctor arrived. Also be sure that the office staff actually has your tests before you arrive as you might show up for an appointment, wati 45 minutes and then have the staff tell you that they have not received your test results.

:) Click to report rating    5/14/08 4 4 5 I laugh while in waiting room..people complain yet NEVER leave. Dr Karakashian is the BEST, well worth the wait. I had a very bad infection on my neck and the man opened his office to treat me early on a SUNDAY morning. And if you beleive the whiny ninnys on here ...why is his office still packed? He does an excellent job

:) Click to report rating    4/20/08 4 3 5 Have always been able to get an appointment within a reasonable amount of time. Staff has always been friendly and helpful. There is sometimes a long wait - up to 2 hours - but other times only waited 15 minutes. He's generally very busy, but addresses questions and concerns without rushing patients. Both my husband and I go to him and we both feel he is thorough and extremely competent. Billing staff is unreasonable: We have no co-pay; just pay the amount due after insurance payment is received by Dr. office. We sometimes get a bill that was mailed two days ago and payment is due the following day! They claim they will start collection proceedings if payment is not received by the due date. Have never tested that claim.

:) Click to report rating    2/26/08 1 1 3 Unprofessional and surly staff. Waiting room packed with regular patients who sounded off their so-far 1-1/2 to 2 hr delays which they said are typical (some showed me the food and books they brought along to weather the wait).

I have waited on some ocassions for a longer period of time but the end results have been worth waiting for. I highly recommend him and his staff for their curitious attention that I have received.

:) Click to report rating    11/20/07 5 1 5 I am personally happy with Dr. Karakashian. He is very competent, Yes the wait may be long, but in this area, he is the only doctor with whom you can get an appointment in a few days. Everyone else books new patients at least one month out. On two occasions I was able to book an appointment next day. Yes I waited, but I was seen by the doctor and he helped me, quickly and competently.

:( Click to report rating    11/16/07 1 1 1 What a disaster of an experience. His parents should be banned from his office. Waited 2 hours for 15 minute visit w/doctor for biopsies. Was told I had basal cell cancer.I asked for lab report was told he does HIS OWN pathology, no formal report, no pathologist involved. As an RN, I was very skeptical of this handwritten "report". When questioning the Father, I was told to never come back to office. Said they have 43,000 patients and don't need me! Called to get more info so I can go to another doctor and father hung up on me after shouting and being extremely rude. Would never go to a Dr. who allows this kind of behavior in his office. What is he thinking? Wouldnt trust his professional judgment after this psycho behavior from his parents.

:| Click to report rating    11/7/07 1 1 3 I stumbled on this site looking for dr phone number. It was great to read everyones input of their experience in the dr.'s office. I actually left after waiting an hour (had to pick up kids) and realizing that the women next to me had there appointment an hour before mine. I couldn't believe that his mom and dad were part of his staff. His mom could give 2 s_ _ _ _ about rescheduling me. It was as if she was doing me a favor to be seen by her son. Needless to say, I have heard he is a great doctor so I will attempt one more time to endure the wait.

:( Click to report rating    11/1/07 1 1 1 This was the worst experience I have ever had at a physician's office. His mother and father are extremely rude. The wait was ridiculous. The mother/receptionist was yelling at patients in the waiting room. It was incredible. I wrote the doctor a letter thinking he may not be aware of what is going on in the waiting room but he never responded; either to me or what appears to be a pattern of strange behavior. do yourself a favor - stay away from the pathology thats going on in this guy's family. He can't possibly have good clinical judgement if this is how he runs his personal life.

:) Click to report rating    10/25/07 1 1 3 Staff extremely rude, wait over 2.5 hours, explanations - some, but knows exactly what he is doing and is a very good doctor. Good diagnosing, good at treatments. Would I go back? Don't want to, but will if I can't find a dr as good as this one. His parents have no business being there.

:) Click to report rating    8/29/07 1 1 3 Dr. K was the worst dermatologist I have ever seen and so unprofessional. After waiting 3 hrs to see him, he had to cut warts off my 3 year old son's legs and then left me with his bloody legs and didn't even bother to cover him with bandages. He gave "ME" a paper sheet to cover his legs. Very unprofessional and he was so quick to get out of the office. His receptionist was BEYOND RUDE a total ****. I would NEVER go back to his office again.

:) Click to report rating    8/27/07 1 1 4 It's been about 7 years since my last visit with Dr. K. First, I would like to say, how glad I am to have found this site! Although I found Dr. K to be kind and knowledgeable, I absolutely detested his parents. His mother was not only rude to the patients, but thought nothing of berating her own son in front of everyone. His father lacks any class when attempting to collect payment. The receptionist I dealt with at the time, appeared very unhappy with her working conditions. Again, this was some time ago. I was actually looking on the web for his phone number and came across this site. Thank God I did. How sad that he has become very rude. Can't help but wonder if this is due to his parents running his practice. Well, now it's time for me to find a new dermatologist. Thanks again everyone!

:| Click to report rating    5/24/07 1 5 Dr. Kararkashian is a rude doctor. He should be lucky to have the stuff he does. I see that they do everything and anything for him and i watched him with my own eyes yell at one of his girls and actully make her cry. i went in for an ance treatment. my face is still broken out and i've saw him for a while. If he was a good doctor then it would be worth waitin 1-2 hours but he is not. And he is always on his cell phone. one time he actully picked up his phone in the middle of talking to me. His father is another thing. Rude as can be if its not about collecting everyones money then its about finding how we can bill this one higher believe me i got a bill in the mail. I can go on and on but Dr.k is not the best nor good doctor to go to.

:( Click to report rating    5/10/07 1 1 Wait time was about 45 minutes. Staff @ desk extremely rude, I stood there for 15 minutes while the receptionist was on her cell phone and the office phone at the same time. I went to Dr. K for redness in my face and he told me within seconds that it is Rosacea and gave me a perscription for the type of Rosacea that I do not have, which I realized only after doing some research on the net. Dr. K did not question me on the skin care products I use or tell me what I should and shouldn't use. He did not give me any info on Rosacea at all. I did not fill the perscription. He removed a mole on my arm that has not completely healed yet & after reading other reviews I'm skeptical if it will. Will never go back to him again - especially after reading all the other negative reviews. I am cancelling my follow up appt for tomorrow!

:) Click to report rating    5/2/07 1 3 So Dr. K is not informative at all. He does what he does when you go to see him and doesnt explain anything. His staff is rude and so is he sometimes. :(      2/1/07 1 1 I laughed when I read the other reviews because I now know I'm not the only one feeling the way I do about Dr. K and his office. I sat on the floor a few appts ago for over an hour because I wasn't about to stand that long. You may not think it's a big thing not to have enough chairs, but wait 1 to 2 hours without a place to rest yourself and you may change your mind. No paper on exam table and no cleaning of vinyl surface between patients. Parents are horrendous and only give you the time of day if you're a "cash" patient - translating to-if you're going to their son for botox, restylane, etc. I had restylane injected in the lips and it was horrific. After having to see a plastic surgeon I found out that Dr. K's injection method was all wrong and could have caused injury. Had a mole removed last year which left a scar... a scar that the good Dr. swore would not be there since I told him I'd rather have the mole than a scar. Please find a different Dr, your health depends on it!!

:(      12/27/06 1 1 This is my opinion of Dr.K's office. The rudeness of his staff (father) was just overall terrible. The way the office was managed is also terrible, I sat there with my daughter for example, a 11am appointment, aftering muttering that 11am came and went aloud, another patient said, 'your appointment was for 11am?' so was mine! Then another patient said theirs was also for 11am. Needless to say we LEFT! As we had another appointment with a orthodontist. Also no chairs for patients to wait those ungodly hour(s) wait, people stood along the wall in the hallway. I figured if the office was being run in this slip-slod manner then how was the medical end of it being run? This was my daughters well being, her body. I made the decision to find another doctor AFTER MUCH RESEARCH on another office for her. The result, a staff willing to explain things in a polite manner to the patient, Cleaner exam/procedure rooms, waiting room, HAPPIER PATIENT AND Mother!

:( Click to report rating    11/2/06 3 1 I had a very negative experience with Dr. K and who I am assuming to be a relative, the office manager and book keeper. I have an outstanding, relatively small bill of 410.00 from May of 06 which is currently under review by my insurance company. I offered to pay the bill so that I could have the mole (which had been removed and found to have contained abnormal cells) excised, but was told that I am not allowed to pay and was refused treatment until insurance pays or denies my claim. This means that as a doctor he is refusing to treat me, when he knows very well that I need to have these abnormal cells removed. That is more than rude, it is negligent and as a doctor I feel that it is truly inexcusable. It is his responsibility as a doctor who took the Hippocratic Oath to always put the well-being of his patients first, and this clearly shows that to him, money trupms health. Disgusting behavior all around.

:( Click to report rating *  9/23/06 1 1 By far, the worst physician visit I've ever encountered! The biggest problem is that daddy is running the books, and is clueless, incompetent, and rude. NO COMPUTERS AROUND!!...Just reams of notebooks, and folders. Built into this Moh's technique he uses are multiple visits for 1 malady (multiple bills!!) My regular family MD called it a scam. So, one dot on my arm the size of a pencil eraser cost me close to 2 grand, 7 visits, and a big scar! Later, a similar spot on my shoulder cost me two hundred dollars, and one visit at my regular physician. Now, I have to figure out the multiple bills they are trying to ding me for that are GREATER than the claims he filed with the insurance company!! The slowness and rudeness you read about are understated. but what gets me is the incompetence. My job would be on the line if I ran my business like this. Do yourself a favor, listen to me and my family physician by finding another dermatologist!

:( Click to report rating    9/11/06 1 1 The entire staff was extremely rude. I never waited less than an hour to get into the office. I had a mole removed which required stitches, when the "disolvable stitches" did not disolve after 2 weeks and the wound became extremely infected, I was instructed by my aunt (who is a nurse) to call his emergency hotline ASAP, since it was after hours. Dr. Karakashian was annoyed that I called him after hours and told me to come in the next day. He than proceded to rip out the stiches with a set of tweezers and told me to be on my way. I now am left with a terrible scar! WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HIM TO MY WORST ENEMY!

:( Click to report rating    7/28/06 1 1 One may think my scores simply spiteful, but I have had very negative experiences with this dr and his staff. I suppose for minor problems, this dr will be harmless. However, if you require anything more than a skin cream or suspect you have a more serious condition, I strongly advise the reader to consider a different doctor. At a MINIMUM get a second opinion. Also check this dr (and any dr your considering) for malpractice data on the NJ consumer affairs website (click link for physician and podiatrist profile).

:) Click to report rating    7/23/06 5 5 Seemingly shy, that's why it looks like a bad bedside manor. Really nice when get to know him..Very smart and to the point..knows his business.. bigger staff now..parents mellowed now.. He is a good doctor, he is fast but it's a shorter time for any pain or fear, I believe he is a life saver, he removes with ease any questionable material on ones person. He does have alot of patients, there is a wait, he is a Doctor looking to make money, but also cure, if he spread his patients out, you would never get in to see him, so the wait is worth it. Thanks Dr. Karakasian.

As good as I think he is, I won't return because of his staff. Also, at every appointment I was kept waiting a minimum of an hour, sometimes with no seats available in the office.
