18/05/14 4 4 4 4 Classic MD. He is very smart, scientific, and direct. I see how he can put people off (he lacks social skills), however he knows what he is doing. You don't see Dr. Price for his demeanor, you see him for his scientific skill.

13/08/12 1 1 1 2 Dr.Price, has horrible bed side manners, un compassionate , totally ignores you during office visits, by talking in to his tape recorder. If he can't find the problem it doesnt exist, despite confirmed diagnoses 3 other times. I had lost a huge amount of weight, in a year. I said, I can only tolerate salads, to which he replied come with me, he performed a very aggressive rectal exam and said " oh I have confirmed that u only ate salads" I was so shocked. He eventually dumped me on another GI, couldn't fiqure it out and when I decided to question his diagnoses, he was mad. I went to the old GI at the time, and he confirmed, the diagnoses of idiopathic pancreatitis . Please seek younger forward thinkers if you r I'll, as thinking out side of his perspective is not something he will do. If u feel uncomfortable get second opinion!!  Respond

27/01/12 5 4 5 5 My personal patient-doctor experience with Dr. Price was a positive one. He showed good bedside manners during the colon screen procedure, he was courteous for a specialist medical doctor. Two days after the procedure, I wasn’t feeling well so my wife called his office and he personally called us back and asked me to check in at Foothills emergency, where they already knew I was coming. He showed up beside my bed at the intake emergency room, screened me, talked with the doctor on duty, personally went to the lab and checked my abdominal X-Rays. He also talked to my wife who was waiting in the emergency waiting area, confirming my last two days episode’s symptoms with her, being very supportive and polite. Based on my standards this means professionalism at its highest, and a carrying attitude. Thank you Dr. Price!  Respond

16/10/11 1 3 1 2 I have had several rectal exams over the last 40 years and always wondered why people complained about them, now I know why! OUCH! He asks questions, but does not listen very well and beside manner is leas than acceptable. He will never see my face again!  Respond

12/08/11 3 4 5 5 I have seen Dr price for over 30 years! If not for him I would have kept suffereing to find out what was wrong with me! He doesnt always have the best beside manner but he is a GREAT doctor! My diagnosis of Crohns disease was at 18 and he was the only one to diagnose it after a year of visiting doctors! You want a good doctor not necessarily a buddy! He knows his stuff!! Thank you Dr. price!  Respond

22/06/11 3 3 3 3 I arrived for my first appointment nervous, realising the personal nature of the impending examination. Dr Price said the examination would not be painful, but it was, and I felt like he was very impersonal about it all - not a good bedside manner for a dr. My feeling was he rushed through the whole appointment, and quite frankly I felt like a number, nothing more. Don't want to go back nor do I want him to do my colonoscopy, am going to request my file be transferred to another specialist.  Respond

18/01/11 4 5 5 5 I was kinda freaked out to see him after reading the comments on this site, but I found him to be knowledgeable and nice. He obviously acts like a doctor - doesn't always seem to be listening, speculates about behaviour that you're not telling him about; doesn't have social skills like, say your realtor, but um, he's a doctor. They are always like that. So anywho, for a specialist, he is just fine.  Respond

06/09/09 4 5 5 5 My experience in seeing Dr. Price for over 10 years is that he is knowlegeable and thorough. He has looked after me well. I get the impression that he genuinely cares about his patients, their well being and their future well being. Dr. ùprice accurately diagnosed my problems, had me feeling better quickly, and has managed my problems sympathetically for since diagnosis. Thank you Dr. Price!  Respond

22/04/09 2 5 1 1 Dr. Price discounted a whole series of symptons for celiacs disease: positive blood test, thyroid disease, alternating constipation- diarrhea. He said I didn't look celiac and suggested using Metamucil. After my colonoscopy, his office didn't send my doctor my colonoscopy report even though there were some abnormalities. He was condescending and treated me like I was hysterical. Only after getting sicker did I see another GI doctor who confirmed celiacs disease. I cannot recommend this doctor.  Respond

19/04/09 5 3 4 5 Dr. Price is an amazing dr. He knows what he is talking about and gets you the stuff you need as soon as he can. He has a long wait list because he is so popular, that's also why he came back into the business after retiring. He is very personable. He has an interesting sense of humour which some people might take offense to, if not taken the way it's meant. His receptionist is amazing too! :D  Respond

02/04/09 5 4 4 4 He made a diagnosis and followed up with the appropriate prescription and further tests and for that I am grateful. But his bedside manner was not the best - didn't explain things well, his tape recording account was not accurate which demonstrated that he didn't listen that well or care about attention to detail. Either way, that makes a patient a little nervous.  Respond

11/02/09 1 5 3 5 Dr. Price knows his stuff, but has a terrible bedside manner. Saw him after a year of struggling to find a diagnosis. He was very condescending when I knew medical terms for a lot of my symptoms (ie erythema nodosa- he was very skeptical that I knew what I was talking about, but I've had them for years!), and was VERY condescending when I said I thought I might have Crohn's, as the list of symptoms was basically a checklist for my own symptoms. Turns out I was right. :P Tape recorded all his info in front of me, though- it would have been nice to have him explain it all to me, instead of acting like I wasn't in the room. His staff messed up though, they told me I was on a waitlist for a colonoscopy, so I waited 7 mos before calling only to find out that they were supposed to book me in ASAP so long ago and that there was no waitlist!! Dr Price referred me to my current GI, Dr Kaplan, when he found out how severe my Crohn's was, as he could not dedicate the time I needed himself.  Respond

03/08/08 1 1 1 1 If I were ever again be presented with Price as the only possibility as the admitting doctor to hospital, I would rather crawl outside, taking whatever fate decides. It is my understanding that Price came out of retirement, a huge disservice to sick people.  Respond

08/02/08 3 2 2 1 Told me dad he had 3 months to live. A year later when my dad went back for a stomach biopsy, he told my dad that it was best to ensure that his 'affairs were in order' and predicted him to be gone by the end of the year. I can't tell you the rollercoaster of emotion this sent us on. Dad is still alive, it's now 16 years. Dad decided to go to a doctor that believed he would live...and so he did. Horrible bedside manner.  Respond

11/04/07 4 1 2 I went to Dr. Price with severe diarreha and he performed a colonoscopy and told my GP that I had colitis and I should take Imodium. I didn't feel this was enough and went to a second specialist and the first thing he asked me was what medication I was taking. (Dr. Price also new what I was on). As soon as I told him Arthrotec for arthritis, he told me to stop this medication as it can cause diarreha. I was off this medication for just over a week, and my condition is now back to normal. Why didn't Dr. Price pick up on this medication - after all, he's supposed to know about Arthrotec! Not impressed at all!  Respond

29/03/07 3 2 3 I was referred twice to Dr. Price. Fortunately I am a nurse and did not have a serious issue. He rushed through the consult. It all felt very mechanical and I felt sorry for an elderly gentleman who followed me, as he appeared very nervous and uninformed. I'm sure he has the knowledge. It comes a time for older Drs. to retire.  Respond

21/03/07 5 5 5 I have seen Dr. Price several times, as my family has a history of bowel cancer. He has always been patient in answering my questions, very thorough, and understands my fears about cancer. His practice is extremely busy, but knowing that I make my appointments months in advance to alleviate worry about not being able to see him when I need to. thank you for all your help, dr. Price.  Respond

19/03/07 5 1 2 I went to Dr. Price with a chronic bowel condition: he told me to lose weight. Since then I've found that I have IBD, which is a lot more complex than what can be cured with weightloss. During our initial appointment, he interrupted me, didn't listen to anything that I had said. I had been diagnosed with Celiacs in New Zealand and he questioned that diagnosis even though I had the test results! When he performed an 'internal' procedure on me, he said that my bowels showed no indication of Celiacs - but I had been off gluten for over a year at that point! This guy was not helpful and had the worst beside manner.  Respond

16/03/07 5 5 5 Dr. Price is very polite and response to every questions I have. He has a good heart, I saw him twice helping patients standing up from their wheel chairs and helping them to walk to the changing room when I was having my procedures in Foothill Hospital. He listens to my concern carefully, check previous charts, gives me advice and explain the procedures in details. He cares you like a "person" NOT "just another patient". Thank you Dr. Price.....from Amy Lee  Respond

His staff has always responded to our calls promptly. I sorry that you had such a bad experience. Kim Lewis  Respond

06/12/06 4 1 1 I waited 15 months to see Dr. Price. During my appointment he would not listen to anything I had to say, he interrupted me when I spoke and swept my problem under the carpet, so to speak.  Respond
