Dr.Ma is awesome! He has been my doctor for almost 23 years(All of my life) He listens, cares, and never rushes you. He has never failed me and I trust him with my life. I only hope that I am fortunate enough to have him around to deliver my very own children..and I will truly be sad when he decides to retire.

My f amil has been seeing him for 20 years. I find him to be very helpful and he will refer to other Dr's when required. I do my homework when going to se him about any medical issues I have and for the most part he will send me to a specialist or for a 2nd opinion. He is a good man and never rushes a consult. Good job!

Alan Ma is my family doctor (16yrs). Everyone in the medical field comments that I’m fortunate to have Alan Ma as my family doctor. And I feel fortunate to be under his care.
Alan Ma is not only a good doctor he is a brilliant doctor.

Doctor Ma has been my doctor ever since I was a little kid. Whenever I had an issue or wasn't sure about something, I always went to him and he helped me out in a giffy. No complaints here. Wonderful, fun loving doctor.

I have been seeing Dr. Ma for many years, and I know him to be a truly caring practitioner; he is not interested in the walk-in clinic scenario, because he wants to follow your care anddevelop a relationship with you. I consider myself extremely fortunate to be one of his patients.

Dr Ma has been my doctor for 20 odd years now and he is awesome. He is friendly, smart and very helpful. The only thing negative is are his repetitive jokes, lol. Otherwise A !!!

Dr. Ma has been my Dr. for over 30 years - His office is run professional in every way. Dr. Ma is not only Caring but Competent and ready to help in every way possible. I have been exceptionally satisfied and happy with Dr. Ma and hope he is not going to retire anytime soon I will be very sad. Remember he is a Dr. not God and does his very best to the best of his ability. Thank you Dr. Ma for all your years of faithfulness and commitment to your oath and the people you have served. A grateful patient

Dr. Ma never rushes you out of the office. He really takes the necessary time to get to know his patients and listen to their concerns/medical problems so he can make a good diagnosis. He is very knowledgeable. I have been a patient for about 20 years. He always refers me to a great specialist's when he deems it is necessary. No question is silly when you ask Dr. Ma, and he makes you feel really at ease when discussing medical matters.

Dr. Ma has been my doctor for 26 years. When I was young my mother could not get a hold of our family doctor and out of panic called Dr. Ma who instructed my mother on what to do for me. He even came to visit me in the hospital that of which my own doctor never did. He is caring, he is thorough. If you want a referral he will give you one. If he feels you need a referral he will give you one. He will order tests to double check and make sure. I love Dr. Ma.

Our family has been seeing Dr. Ma for almost 10 yrs. Whenever we feel a specialist is needed, he has always recommended one. He is very caring, very personable and always acknowledges our children with little jokes and makes them feel like they are important. I would totally recommend Dr. Ma and we are considering moving and I would not change Doctors. He is FANTASTIC!!! Thank you Dr. Ma!!!!

I would have to say from our experience that he is not good with referrals nor diagnosing. When my daughter was little her eyes crossed all the time, he said it was normal and refused to send her to a specialist even though we asked him repeatedly, so we changed doctors. When she sent her to the Eye Clinic at VGH they were upset that we hadn't brought her in when we first noticed it. If we had taken her in when we first brought it to Dr Ma's attention they would have been able to totally correct the problem. As it was she had to wear a patch on her eye for a year and then wear bifocal glasses at 7 years old. Because of his refusal to send her to a specialist she will never have bipolar vision and will always need expensive corrective glasses. I wouldn't recommend him to anyone ever.

We have known Dr. Ma for over 20 years and we find him to be very thorough and caring. He wouldn't hesitate to send us for tests or refer us to specialists if we complain of ailments or symptons requiring such services. He is extra friendly and we're very fortunate to have him as our family doctor.

All this guy did was prescribe $100's of dollars worth of Amoxicillin, my kid has Asthma and actually had an attack in his office. He had no idea, what a quack!

Quite on time there is always a few exceptionsDo not hesitate to help you out to the best of his knowledge. Knows his business, gives you enough information or refers you to the proper doctors.

Dr. Ma is a caring doctor who listens to your medical problems and never rushes your questions. He is very good about referrals when he feels a specialist's opinion is warranted. He is a busy dcotor, and sometimes there is a bit of a wait in his waiting room... but he never makes it seem like he is too busy to thoroughly discuss your problem. Even though we moved to a different part of the Lower Mainland, I am still keeping his as my family doctor. Thanks, Dr. Ma :)

I have no first hand knowledge. A family member uses this doctor. They've found him to be uncaring and not very helpful. If it weren't for the shortage of doctors taking new patients he would have lost this patient.
