10/12/13 3 4 1 1 I have had only one encounter with this doctor when my own doctor was off. Dr. Stobie was rude, judgemental, and uncaring. She did not listen. She was very unprofessional. I let in tears! I hope I do not ever have to see her again!  Respond

09/12/13 5 5 3 3 I agree with a lot of the comments. I always feel rushed whenever I meet with her. Same comment from my wife. She won't deal with more than one issue in a single visit. She's rudely dismissive if you bring up information you saw on the web. I understand that she may know better as a doctor but there's a polite way to deal with that situation.  Respond

10/06/13 5 5 5 5 Dr. Stobie has been my family doctor for 11 years. She is the best doctor I or my husband have ever had. Very professional and thorough and caring. She makes sure to refer patients to the best specialists, at times outside of the immediate region. She is also very good with children.  Respond

18/04/13 3 5 3 2 Dr. stobie is extremely rude, unprofessional(in the way she speaks), and uncaring. she is not at all empthetic. The only thing she is good at is seeing you on time, other than that she has very limited knowledge, she gets offended if you ask her details, she doesn't allow you to discuss more than one problem at a time and makes you feel very uncomfortable for asking questions or questioning her decisions. I would not recomend her to anyone.  Respond

20/03/13 3 5 3 4 The comments given reflect my experience with Dr. Stobie: kind of a "Dr. Jekyll and Ms. Hyde" scenario. I will say that she has been very helpful in getting to the root of my issues, but mostly because I have increasingly learned to be my own advocate. She can be dismissive and condescending, but she is also extremely punctual and reliable, and excellent at giving referrals when she feels that the problem is out of her area. I have seen her bedside manner move from atrocious to benign over the past 5 or so years, which is positive. I think she is trying to be more compassionate and understanding, and although she seems to have to work for it, I do appreciate the effort because I think she realizes that she can come off really gruff. I do wish that she would approach the whole body as interconnected rather than vehemently and pointedly refuse to talk about more than one complaint at a time. If she were to do so, it would benefit both the patient and her practice, pedagogy, and approach.  Respond

09/05/12 2 2 1 1 I have been with Dr Stobie for the last 10 years and will be actively looking for a new doctor whom I feel will take the health of my family more seriously then the amount of time left in the 'scheduled' appointment. My last visit with her was beyond unprofessional and I have seen her dedication to the well being of her patients deteriorate dramatically over the last 5 years. I find Dr. Stobie to be very short to point of being rude when discussing the circumstance for the visit and absolutely does not take the time or care to thoroughly check the symptoms before making a educated decision. There are so many other doctors out there that are truly dedicated to their professions and their patients. I want to feel confident that when I leave an appointment I am getting the best care for my family...and this has not been the case with Dr. Stobie for many years. If you are looking for an excellent family doctor...this is not one to consider.  Respond

22/09/08 5 5 5 5 I couldn't be more impressed or delighted with this wonderful family doctor. I appreciate the way she sees her relationship with our family's medical needs as a 'partnership,' and encourages us to take the time to educate ourselves. I also appreciate how she doesn't hesitate to make a referral if necessary. I'm also shocked how each and every time any of us (we're a family of seven) have an appointment, she's ALWAYS been on time! I can't say enough good things about her and per practice. Just wish I had found her sooner. She's also great with my children, from the youngest (almost four) to the two oldest, who are teens. She makes all of feel very comfortable, despite how potentially embarrassing (my 16-year-old son had a lump she needed to check on one of his testicles) the procedure may be. Very warm, professional, and easy to work with.  Respond

03/01/08 5 5 5 5 Dr Stobie is awesome. She's reasonably on time yet doesn't rush you. She tends to lean toward 'when in doubt, send for tests/referrals' - but I much prefer this to blowing off a potential issue. We are so lucky to have her!  Respond

05/12/07 5 5 4 3 Dr. Stobie is really personable. I rated her 3 for knowledge because i feel that i make many trips to the doctors office to discuss test results, however this means to me, that she is taking the time to try to determine what my case is. I appreciate having a great doctor that cares.  Respond

15/10/07 5 5 1 1 I gotta disagree with apparently most of you. I thought she was terrible. I had 5 minutes of her time to try and deal with a severe anxiety disorder and depression, once a month. She upped my dosage on Paxil ridiculously too fast (according to doctor's I've seen since then, including psychologists), never once offered to refer me to any sort of therapist or psychologist. And she got angry with me when I told her outright I wanted off Paxil, and refused to go on the drug she wanted to switch me onto. She got mad, and never told me it was dangerous to ween off at the rate she had told me to previously. Then got angry with me again when I told her that I stopped taking the drugs the next time I went in, and pretty much dismissed me. Maybe she's a good family doctor, but when it comes to any sort of matter of psychology - she's terrible. Worst medical expert I have EVER dealt with in regards to my anxiety and depression.  Respond

14/08/07 5 5 5 5 Dr. Stobie is fantastic. She is understanding, helpful and quick to refer to a specialist when required. She is not a Dr. who rushes you, but instead is willing to listen thoroughly and help whenever she can. This is the first Dr. I have ever known to be on time. I would not hesitate to refer her to friend and family.  Respond

09/04/07 5 5 5 Keeps plugging away despite my reluctance to do what she tells me. Understands my position but provides appropriate counselling to get my buy-in. Refers as soon as she notices something is amiss. As a result, her referrals to specialists have caught basal cell carcinoma twice when I might have let them slip.  Respond
