I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Cantwell. I absolutely love her & hope I never have to search for another GP. She is always helpful & never rushes me. She is down to earth & has alsway shown me great respect & consideration during all my vists. She has had her receptioinst call me at home to keep me apraised of my test results etc. I'm sure she prob makes mistakes, everyone does, but I can only speak for myself, that I highly value her care.

pumped me full of depression meds when I didn't even have depression. would not refer me to a specialist for stomach problems (turned out to be a severe food allergy). thought she was a complete quack and stopped going to her. went back to my previous family dr and haven't looked back since.

I have never been to this person, she is my parents gp. My mom has been going to her for a few years with the same problem in her stomach. She continued to tell my mom that she is fat and need to lose weight.2 weeks ago, she told my mom the same thing, that she had muscle spasms and needed to lose weight (my mom was blown up from a bowel obstruction)my mom left her office and went to the ER where 3 days later half of her bowel was removed from cancer, which has now spread to other areas. Any knowledgeable person knows if there is bowel cancer in your family, you should be checked for same, this so called doctor did not even suggest this to my mom. This idiot is there for the money, the more patients she could get in and out of her office means more money for her, she has no regard for health. Doctors like her need to be removed from the medical profession. But the gov of NL makes it very difficult to sue these idiots for their mistakes. Why they are protected I really dont know.

Today she told me that my psychiatric illness would never go away and that she doesn't want to clog up the system by giving me a referrel for a second opinion on my head problems even though the doctor at the Waterford told me to get one. She did not write down all of my accomodations for my disability (for Memorial) and then said "if you get a note taker how do I know you're not gonna skip class". I left her office crying. My entire day is messed up. She's turned into a total ****/

Became disillousioned with this doctor. Her mood swung from one extreme to the other. Relationship with her staff seemed to be contentious. Did not know what to expect when I went there. Changed to a different doctor.

I was very happy with Dr. Cantwell until I brought my 2 year old daughter to her with a chest infection. It's very commonly known that children are NOT recommended to take cough medication for reasons such as it could make them light-headed and dizzy which could be dangerous, just to name one reason, and she prescribed a cough medication to my daughter. This bothered me quite a bit.

I moved here 11 months ago and thought I would never find a doctor. I had the same doctor for 14 years so I thought it would be a challange to find someone to open up to with my concerns. When I became Dr. Cantwell's patient I was thrilled. She is wonderful and very caring. Always listens to any questions I may have and is able to answer them. She is also very encouraging and helpful. I am glad I picked her clinic to inquire if they accepted new patients!!!!

Dr. Cantwell is a wonderful doctor, as other comments show. I wanted to add that 1 thing that makes her great is that she doesn't talk down to her patients the way some other doctors do. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Cantwell is very thorough when presented with a medical issue - she leaves no stone unturned to ensure that the best possible medical care is provided. She is insistent on doing follow-up of test results that may be somewhat ambiguous. She is a strong advocate of living a healthy lifestyle and will take the time to discuss exercise, diet, stress management, medication, yearly checkups, etc. Her medicals are very, very thorough an all inclusive. She is ever aware of the need to have updated assessments done i.e. bone density tests, BP checks, mammograms, pap tests - and will keep an eye out to ensure that they are done as per patient need and as regular as required. She spends adequate time in appointments with me - I never feel she is rushed to get to her next patient even though I know others are waiting. I feel well cared for medically.

I find Dr. Cantwell very easy to talk to and will help in anyway she can. She is a very good doctor and is very knowledgable. A very nice person all around.

Dr.Cantwell is friendly, very patient and an excellent listener. She is very thorough and knowledgeable. I feel that she genuainely cares about my health. I highly recommend her.
