27/09/13 5 5 5 5 Bold, innovative approaches to health. Dr. Auckerman helped my mom live with leukemia many more months than her oncologist expected. Lots of blood work, it's true, but loads of information gleaned from the results.

08/03/12 3 5 1 2 He is not a naturopath but an MD and does not give holistics care. He requires very expensive blood work that most insurances will not cover-he is against health food stores, raw produce, raw nuts and a plethora of other odd beliefs such as eat nothing for day one but cottage cheese and canned peaches and the next day get a breakfast of 2 eggs, sausage, hash browns and this will bring you back to your pre-ancestral levels and I guess reset you. For more of his odd beliefs see this link. http://curezone.com/forums/fm.asp?i=1722116#i I also found him quite rude to anyone in the audience who disagreed with him  Respond

12/01/12 4 4 5 5 Dr Aukerman changed my life. I came in with different uncertain diagnoses. After attending his seminar, I was blown away and unsure what I was going to do with this new diet. But after my appt with him, he new what would work for me and it did. I am blessed to have been told to see him. I feel wonderful and greatful. 2 1/2 years later, and I feel great!!

22/12/11 4 4 1 3 I had a nightmare experience with Dr. Aukerman. My regular MD was not available so I was placed with him. When he entered I explained I slipped on my stairs at home and injured my back. I saw a body worker Wed who massaged and realigned me but suggested I make sure I see an MD in case I need xrays. He asked what my body worker said I should have, all while being very dismissive. He never examined me, never directly faced me, and kept saying he would do this or that because my body worker wanted it, which I found demeaning. He was brusque, dismissive, and indifferent, and I will never see him again. I refused to pay for the visit even. He actually made me cry he was so harsh, which was unbearable considering the pain I am in.  Respond

15/09/11 5 5 5 5 Personally I found Dr. Aukerman to be very knowledgeable and reassuring. He cured my sister inlaw diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer with dietary supplements. Cleveland Clinic wrote her off. I am seeing him regarding heart disease.  Respond

15/04/11 4 5 5 5 Dr. Aukerman changed my life. I had everything from fibromyalgia to bruising, IBS, irritable bladder, hair loss, shingles, arthritis, lupus...the list goes on. He put me on a gluten-free diet and told me to take fish oil, mg, B100, cinnamon and Vit D and my health has improved dramatically. I have no pain, my hair has grown back, my skin is better and I'm off all my prescription meds. I can understand why some might not like him: he does not suffer fools gladly. And if you don't want to follow his advice, he thinks you should see another doctor. I love the guy and I thank him for giving me back my health after a decade of suffering, misdiagnoses, and endless prescriptions that only masked the symptoms. If you're willing to take control of your own life and have a little self discipline, this is the doctor you want to see.

21/08/10 4 4 5 5 Love him! Be prepared, however, to take control of your own health. That means following a difficult-to-follow diet that will change your life. Once you begin to feel better, you'll realize that the hard work in following the diet is worth it! Dr. Aukerman will know, based on your blood work, if you are following his advice. If not, be prepared for him to suggest you see another doctor as he is too busy to see patients who want a quick or easy fix. Your health improvement is truly up to you in a partnership with Dr. Aukerman. Don't come to him expecting HIM to make you better - you need to do much of that yourself. If you aren't disciplined enough to follow his advice I suggest you seek health care elsewhere. He has chanaged my life for the better and I'm thankful I found him.

16/07/10 4 5 4 5 If you want a pill to take to fix your problems, this isn't the right doctor for you. He would believe most rx drugs are band-aids rather than fixes and he seeks to fix the root cause, rather than the symptoms - I like that. He will want you to take gobs of magnesium, fish oil, cinnamon, calcium, and maybe cut out gluten as part of troubleshooting. He's doing blood work all the time and you're under the care of a physician so go for it, it can only help. He does have an odd personality, talks a lot and fast, and has a REALLY dry sense of humor - but I really like him. Personable in his own unique way. For my mom, he got her off of gluten and four seemingly unrelated ailments vanished - she is extremely happy. For my wife's migraines, we're still working through the exact cause. I also know someone who has used him with cancer and he has been helpful. Overall, highly recommended, just be prepared that he’s a little “different” and enjoy the experience. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

27/12/09 5 4 5 5 Dr. Aukerman is a really great doctor. I can see how it is overwhelming at first to see him because of all the blood work and changes in your diet. But like he says give him 6 months and he can help fix most of your problems. I had been struggling for years with chronic congestion and and sinus infections. Underwent a UP3 which is where they take out adenoids, uvula and stretch your esophagus out to let drainage go to your stomach. Yes it was painful and no it didn't work. My eye doctor recc me to Aukerman to check for celiacs disease. My intial test was negative , but when I began to eat gluten again it made me sick. Since then (10 months) no sinus infections. I had about 1 every 6 weeks for almost 15 years. His request may seem out there a bit, but he will give you the science to back up what he is doing. Hes worth listening to in my opinion. Hes changed my life for the better. Hes a doctor I would only recc to people who are willing to do the work and participate.

11/11/09 3 3 1 1 I did not have a good experience with Dr. Aukerman and I don't plan to go back. He barely looked at me, even to examine me, for the two appointments that I had with him. Each appt lasted less than 10 min and he was very rushed. He was on time for both which were on Saturdays. He ordered over $2,000 in blood work that my insurance is questioning. He tells you to take massive quantities of fish oil, magnesium, B 100 complex, calcium & cinnamon. My second appt was just him telling me to take more of these supplements. When I said that the fish oil made me anxious (I know others have said the same thing) he just said it shouldn't do that and offered no alternatives. I went to an endocrinologist who commented that he tested for celiac disease in an unusual way. I believe he may be more helpful to cancer patients (which I was not) who are looking for alternatives

22/10/09 3 1 3 4 I have gone to Dr Aukerman for several years. I have been very open to his regimen (eating well and vitamins), however, I have developed some concerns. I recently had a spell of ill health. My body was in severe distress. I went to a specialist and came away with a diagnosis and advised to continue therapy with my family MD, Dr. Aukerman. Unfortunately, instead of getting to the bottom of the cause of my problem, I was told to go gluten-free. I was handed a pile of literature and shuffled out of the office. I have no idea if I am a celiac or not. No further tests were performed. To make things worse, when I cross referenced all of my blood work with sources on the internet, I can find no evidence at all that I have any kind of gluten intolerance. I think he pushes the "program" too much. Another longstanding annoyance of mine is that he is always an hour behind schedule and the appointments are too hurried. I come away with more questions than answers.  Respond

13/08/09 3 3 5 5 Dr. Auckerman addresses health holistically, and systemically. He tailors his holistic regimen to the individual based on blood tests and asks you to be responsible in terms of diet, exercise and well-being. Part of this responsibility means understanding one's health within the larger picture of our food system and what supports or doesn't support our health. Therefore, vitamins. Results? Amazing. His approach has been informative and life-changing. I am healthier than I've ever been because I now understand what sustains me as an individual and what doesn't, and I choose to adhere to that. He is incredibly busy, so he does not linger: he is direct, clear, caring. He emails promptly to answer questions. The $25? I asked about it b/c I couldn't afford it: it is a DONATION for those that wish to offer one for the classes. nothing more. If you are not willing to be open to change or want to justify your ill health, he's not your Dr. If you are open, you'll be amazed. His assistant? Rude.  Respond

02/07/09 2 3 2 4 Disappointed. Seems to only focus on certain areas of holistic medicine. Big emphasis on gluten intolerance, Omega 3's, Magnesium and BComplex. You have to take one of his classes before he will even agree to see you as a patient (ironically there is a $25 "donation" request for the class). Also, I found some inconsistencies in the literature they provide. I asked one of the staff about one of the inconsistencies via e-mail and I never received any response.  Respond

01/07/09 4 4 1 3 Used to be a good family practice doctor, but he has changed his practice to only administer Holistic Medicine. As I was unable to take all the excessive amounts of vitamins and supplements (which I can't I get sick) he no longer wanted to administer health care to me as a patient. I was referred to another doctor in the practice.

06/04/09 4 5 5 5 I think Dr. Aukerman is simply wonderful and very refreshing. He combines Western medicine with CAM and bases his program on sound evidence and the latest clinical research. He has a unique sense of humor (which may offend some people) but I find that refreshing. He takes the time to discuss the important medical concepts pertaining to my blood test results. He is always cheerful, helpful, and very knowledgeable. He always returned my emails the same day and, honestly, how many doctors are there whom you can call on his/her cell phone?? I followed Dr. Aukerman's nutrition and diet program and my triglycerides went from 400 to 110 in about a year (with no medication). I'm grateful there's a place like this in Columbus, and I respectfully disagree with the negative comments presented here.

My depression is finally managable, and I am regaining my health and proper weight slowly but surely. I am so grateful to him, and will do whatever he advises because of his care, teaching, logic, dedication and compassion. He has saved my life, on many different levels.

23/10/07 5 4 3 2 Dr. Aukerman was very quick to diagnose problems just from looking me: latex allergy, irritable bowel, thyroid disease, gluten intolerance. I was doubtful; interestingly enough, the only testable ailment of the bunch came back negative. Poor bedside manner; arrogant and an absolutist.  Respond

19/10/07 1 3 1 2 The first thing that came out of his mouth when he saw me was "You poor thing" (very condescending to me). He talked more than listened and did not have recognizable evidence to support his two minute diagnosis of my pain (from fibromyalgia). He was keen on pushing his research and studies and shoved a regimen in my hand that was pre-pinted and not tailored to me as an individual. He spent a lot of time describing miraculous cures and recoveries as evidence of his competence and used a lot of detailed terminology to, in my opinion, pull the wool over my eyes. I've heard other doctors and patients feel the same way about the Center and I would not recommend him to anyone.  Respond

20/09/07 5 3 5 5 I feel remarkably better after taking my vitamins and changing my eating habits according to Dr. Aukerman's recommendations. I find him good-natured,scientific, and extremely knowledgable. He has connected how I feel to what I eat. Some of my physical complaints went away within a few days, some took a few months and after 2 years another issue has improved but isn't perfect. He has remained interested in working with me in trying different things as I am able. This indicates to me that good health is a process, takes time and takes a persistent and caring doctor. Thak you.
