I love Dr. Renan & his staff. They've gone above & beyond for me time and time again. He came in on a weekend to do a fertility procedure for me because it had to be done that day. He checked on me every day I was in the hospital after I had my son. He gave me his personal cell phone number so I could call him any time. Every nurse in the hospital raved about him when they found out he was my doc. I'm sorry to see so many negative reviews. A lot of them are from a couple of years ago. Maybe he cleaned up his act in response to negative feedback because he's never been rude to me. He's only been late a couple of times, too. He delivers babies for a living and babies don't wait plus he has a solo practice so there isn't another doc to cover for him when he's delivering a baby. His office manager spent 20 minutes on the phone with me explaining all the fertility tests/procedures and no one else that I called did anything like that for me. He also did everything he could to save me money.

Dr Renan is the worst doctor experiences I’ve ever had. Please take my advice – DO NOT go to Dr Renan. He is uncaring, rude and condescending. Dr Renan is very lazy and does not want his patients to get healthy. Dr Renan is always late. He walks into the room, does not even ask what is bothering me since he goes off the chart from his assistant, goes straight into procedure, than exits the room while I am still in the gynecological chair. The entire stuff and patients sitting outside can see me getting off gynecological chair (there is a large window from the receptionist/office area and waiting room). Than I go outside and he discusses my problems “briefly” while the entire stuff and patients outside can hear him. Has the doctor ever heard about HIPPA??? After all these tests and procedures I am still in pain.
Dr Renan was charging me $150 for that phone call where for 10 min they were trying to find my lost test and advising that my second test came back all normal.

Dr. Renan has been my OBGYN for about 10 years. He's the most loving, caring doctor I have ever had. He is extremely knowledgeable and is always willing to answer any questions. I know he cares for me as a person and not only as a patient. When it was time for me to deliver my son, Dr. Renan had to go out of town for business. His associate ended up delivering my son. Dr. Renan called the hospital from the airport to see how I was doing with contractions, delivery etc..I don't know any doctor that would do such a thing. He really cares about his patients. I've recommended Dr. Renan to several of my friends and they all love him. When I'd changed my insurances, I'd always make sure that Dr. Renan would accept it, if not, I wouldn't get that insurance. I wouldn't have any other gynecologist, but Dr. Renan. He's my favorite doctor!!!!

it seems to me some of these reviews has been based on malice.dr renan is a great dr.he cares about all his patients.i have been going to him for years.he calls me by my name every time i go there!actually these days it is hard to find a dr that cares so much about you and is honest.he does not take advantage of his patients.he is a gentle dr.i am very happy that my friend refferd him to me!it seems that some of bad comments is coming from the same person.all i can say he is a great dr. last three times i was there.i did not wait long to see him.i trust him and that is why i keep going back to him.

Dr. Renan was recently dropped from the Lakeside Medical Group, much to my dismay. I first went to Dr. Renan after having a miscarriage and after getting pregnant again, my OBGYN told me I would miscarry again...but Dr. Renan was optimistic. Yes, I had to wait at least an hour before seeing him each visit, and yes I thought of changing my doctor every time I went to his office while I was pregnant, but in the end, he came through. He delivered our beautiful 10 pound 4 ounce baby, without C section and his bedside manner came out in the hospital. He came to check on my in the middle of the night and early morning (1am, 3am, 5am) and I couldnt speak any more highly of him. He saved my baby girl and I will always be thankful to him. I will tell stories of him to my children and grandchildren one day. He is an exceptional doctor.

I agree with everyone's comments, but I beleive Dr Renan is very skilled in what he does, but the wait time and the 'useless' staff do not help the already bad name he has managed to make for himself. I had a very successfull delivery and one excellent surgery to remove a cyst and some fibroids. It is true that for fertility issues he will send you to an on-contracted lab for test and also an uncontracted clinic. He sent me to Dr Snunit Ben-Ozer who is very good, but her follow up is zero.I had to pay out of pocket for all my tests and visits to her, only to get harrased with phone calls and faxes to my office, cell and home, because I had a $65 balanace. After leaving a $350 deposit for my last visit,I was amazed that they thought I would be running away for a mere $65. Well,to cut the story short I never received any treatment and I am now pregnant. I was torn between going back to Renan or to my wonderfull Dr Andy Huang at the Rep Partners in BH. hmmmmm DR HUANG WINS! BIG TIME.

We had a great experience with Dr. Renan and his staff. They were very helpful in assisting in everything, especially in helping get things straightened out with our insurance company. Dr. Renan was nothing less than a pleasure to work with. He is honest and straightforward and understood our desires during our pregnancy, making every effort to accomodate them. We feel very grateful to have him as our doctor and know that because of him we had a very successful pregnancy and birth of our first son (September 2008).

Staff is incompetent, rude and not very bright AT ALL! I really don't know where they found these girls! Especially the one at the front desk. At least smile and say hello. I was already treading going in there because Dr. Renan is a jerk, and then to be treated rudely just made it worse.

Please take my advice and DO NOT, I REPEAT DO NOT go to this Doctor! Not only is he rude, uncaring and arrogant, but his staff is 10 times WORSE! They lose paperwork and test results, and have absolutely no "people skills". My husband and I are having problems getting pregnant and have been going to him for about 7 months now. I couldn't take it anymore and today I just changed Doctors. Thank God I no longer have to be objected to that kind of treatment.

Dr. Renan is a rude, condescending, alarmist, uncaring physician. He constantly berated me for my weight gain (which was well within the normal range) and I waited on average approximately 2 hours FOR EVERY VISIT. As for the delivery, I was induced and needed a vacuum extraction, which left me with immediate pelvic floor dysfunction, and my epidural gave me an excruciating headache that lasted for 2 weeks. While he may not be ultimately responsible for the complications with my delivery, his flippant and insensitive manner afterwards was inexcusable. Dr. Renan never returned my calls regarding my postpartum problems, and his office staff was just as useless.

I wish I could change doctors, but it's a bit late in the game. The main problem with Renan is is office staff, who are stupid and rude. It reflects very badly on him. They make really amazing and often dangerous mistakes regarding test results. Renan himself is probably a good doctor, but he is lazy. He has the staff do everything for him, including sign legal documents, which is basically fraud. He never remembers me from appointment to appointment. I wish I could get someone else to deliver my baby at this point. The weight thing is also a riot. He yelled at me for gaining too much weight, but then when my weight gain stopped in the 3rd tri, he was concerned about that. Many women gain weight irregularly--he's the kind of doctor who looks at numbers and not the patient. He's an egomaniac. Hope the delivery goes well because I cannot change docs at this point.

As many have stated, Dr. Renan is not someone I would go to if I needed an OBGYN. The wait time is AT LEAST 2 hours AFTER your scheduled appointment time. When you do see him, he's rude, condescending & not very helpful. He is described as a fertility specialist but, when I went there because I hadn't menstruated in 6 months, he didn't even try to help me and refered me to a fertility clinic. If he had treated me it would've been covered by insurance but he instead directed me to a fertility clinic which I have to [ay full price for because he didn't want to take the time to figure out what was wrong with me. With one visit to the fertility clinic, the doctor easily solved the problem. All I can think of is that Dr. Renan did not care about me as a patient and did not want to deal with the issue. My husband also found him to be extremely rude and incompassionate. If I ever do get pregnant, I definitely WILL NOT go to Dr. Renan.

Dr. Renean has delivered my three children. All of them were 9lbs and above. He did all that he could before he had to perform a c-section. And thankfully they were all delivered natuarally. He is very knowledgeable and thorough. Which proves that he cares about his patients. Yes, one is in for a long wait before you are seen. But it's worth the wait. Renan has been delivering babies for many years. As I have told him before...We hope that he can deliver all our children before he retires.

Appointment wait time is two hours on the average. Dr. is hard to understand (if you speak English). However, he is the most competent and hard-working doctor I have ever met. With both of my deliveries, he would check on me in the hospital at around ten each evening after working all day in his office. He is thorough when it comes to tests. As many others have mentioned, his bedside is lacking, but when he saves your baby from the umbilical cord that is wrapped thrice around his neck, you earn great respect for the man. And, he looks very cool in his Bentley.

Worst Dr. I've ever seen. Is very rude, condescending and inconsiderate. I'm not the only one who thinks this, I have THREE friends who have also gone to him and never went back. I'm lucky I switched OBs early on in my pregnancy, who knows if my daughter would be alive and thriving today had I settled for this guy. Run, don't walk, far away from him and his incompetant staff!

I had my 1st child delivered by Dr. Renan, and every visit left me crying as well because "i had gained too much weight, my baby was going to be too big and I was going to end up having a C section" (I gained 36 lbs and had a 4 1/2 lb baby!). Recently I became pregnant and had been having my HCG levels checked (they were low). I tried to call in and get results yesterday but they said they were too busy. I started to bleed heavily and cramp severely in the middle of the day and called the office 3 times leaving a message each time as to what was going on (I was quite tearful during one call). NO ONE CALLED ME BACK. I called today and was talked to by a nurse who constantly cut me off, talked over me and repeated herself like an idiot. It turns out I needed Rhogam. I came home earlier than expected and tried to go in, they were in the office but were closed. couldnt help me, and made rude comments like "oh my god didnt you tell her to go to the er! like I was some nusance. ER was 40+ ppl

I am sure he is a fine doctor, but my experiences with him have been far from good. I was lucky to have his associate deliver my first child, all the visits I had with him previously involved me crying out of his office because I had gained "too much weight." I ignored it and continued seeing him for future obgyn visits because of his great staff and nurse practitioner, I made sure all of my visits were not scheuduled with him thereafter. Recently I saw him for my yearly check, I wanted to ask him a question about the meds I was taking. He put his hand up told me to "stop" and he advised me he was not going to answer my question because my insurance wasn't going to pay him as it was a mere routine check. He recommended I schedule an apptmt after I waited over 1 hour to be seen. I am changing doctors and am disgusted by his repulsive manner. I will never be seeing him again.

While deciding whether or not he should deliver my first child, I was in the waiting room and I noticed another pregnant woman who was clearly in pain. She asked him PLEASE could she see him she was in pain and he said actually raised his voice"I am late for my tee time, I will call you when I'm on the last hole!" All of us in the waiting room looked at eachother STUNNED! Needless to say I am going elsewhere. The fact that it is so hard to find a doctor that can CARE for you is disgusting to me!

Last week I was in severe pain from a rupurted cyst. Urgent care, which is down stirs from Sr. Renan's office told to that I needed to go to the ER beacause the pain meds they gave me did not work. I, instead, went upstairs to Dr. Renan's office and they took me in right away. Dr. Renan came in the room to see me within less than 5 minutes and the girls that worked in the office were extremely comforting. Bringing me blankets, staying with me etc. Dr. Renan saw me, immediately called the ER and made sure that I was taken in right away. He ordered all the tests needed, pain meds. etc. I waited less than 10 minutes to go in. The ER doctors were on top of what Dr. Renan had told them. So were the nurses. His office girls were incredible. He will always be my doctor. His actions that day proved to me that he does care for his patients. Diana Land

My wife had the worst experience of her life in Dr. Renan's hands. She was pushed by this doctor to have an induced labor, which failed, so she had to endure a C-section in the end. But after c-section, her incision got infected and she had to stay in the hospital for nearly half a month totally. I just don't understand why E-coli could get into the incision of my wife. It must be caused by the bad operation. My wife's body is still very problematic two months after delivery. She still has blood discharge once in a while, and I have to look for different doctors for her now because Dr. Renan consider her fine now. Even before this incident, my wife experienced very long waiting, inpatient treatment during normal office visit.

Punctuality is not his forte, and neither is tact or bedside manner. During what should have been a pinacle event during our pregnancy (first ultrasound), he was completely distracted chatting with some guy on the phone in another language rather than giving us the attention we deserved and paid for Before he missed our delivery, too, I went to another attending. This was too important an event in our lives to be overlooked by a "more important phone conversation". I'm sure others have had successful deliveries with him, but we did not want to take our chances.

This doctor left me waiting in the examining room for close to an hour. I had gone to see him about fibroid tumors and my difficulty getting pregnant. He put up my ultrasound films and looked at them for about 2 seconds and then in about 5 seconds rattled off all the extra tests he wanted me to have done. He then rushed me out of the room. He told my husband to have his semen tested. He told him to go to a lab that was not covered by our insurance because they had "more detailed results". It was $150 out of pocket. When he got back the results we were told that they "were fine". Real detailed, huh? His office lost my chart twice, and were a pain to get a hold of for scheduling an HSG. And then sat on the results of that test for a week and half after receiveing them. My repeated calls were not returned. He is very arrogant and unprofessional and seems more concerned with making money than actually treating patients. Don't go to him.
