My experience with Dr. Bickman and her office was TERRIBLE!! There is usually a long wait to see her. When you do see her you feel rushed and it is clear from her attitude that she doesn't care much, strictly in it for the money it seems. I asked a few important questions regarding my health and received curt responses--no follow up questions about the facts, which if asked may have changed her answers. Her office staff is by far the worse I've encountered. I was lied to about a billing procedure and tried repeatedly to call the office to correct it--about 7 or 8 times over the course of a couple of months. I also emailed her. No one ever got back to me with an answer. I am only grateful that I realized this complete lack of professionalism before I needed a doctor to assist with my pregnancy.

I saw Tristan 3 times then changed doctors because she was aweful. For all three visits, my waiting time ranged from 1 to 1.5 hours. When I asked her questions about why I needed a procedure or test done, she was visibly annoyed that I would question her authority. She told me that she felt a lump on my ovary and that I should have an ultrasound done. Her office had to authorize the lab. After 6 weeks, 8 phones call from me, 3 phone calls from the lab, she finally made time to authorize the procedure. This happened twice. Getting results from her required at least 3 phone calls and weeks before she called back. My third and final visit, I asked her to do a certain test on me. She said she did. When she did not return my calls after 4 weeks, I faxed the form for the office to release my files just so I could see my results. On 5 phone calls, receptionist told me the form was on her desk unsigned. My new doctor looked at my file and told me Tristan never did the test she said she did.

Dr. Bickman just delivered my first baby. Our experience with her was amazing. From the beginning, she was attentive, friendly and very knowledgeable. Every visit she spent time with us, answered al of our questions. She was very gentle with exams as well. I am surprised to hear negative comments. She was professional and warm at the same time. Our labor was equally wonderful. She was present and explained everything. I highly recommend her. If you want a doctor who knows what she is doing, enjoys what she is doing and takes time and care with her patients, then go see Dr. Bickman. She is awesome! My husband and I can't wait to do it again with her!

Dr. Bickman was rude, unprofessional and seemingly mentally unstable. I could never feel safe with her delivering my baby. She is in a field that requires her to be present, safe, and reliable and she is none of these things. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. She was as unprofessional, on a bad day, as one can imagine.

Dr. Bickman is a wonderful doctor. I have been going to her for over 4 years. She delivered my first child. My husband and I love her. She is warm, caring, yet professional and very knowledgeable. She was also very gentle. She always took her time and answered all my questions each visit. She also answers email, which I find so helpful. At the end of each visit she would always make sure I didn't have more questions. She spent a lot of time with us and since it was our first pregnancy, we always ahd lots of questions. We never felt rushed with her. After the delivery (which was amazing--she was so attentive for the labor and delivery part too), she was a great gyno doctor too. I am pregnant again and so excited to be going back to Dr. Bickman for another 9 months! We highly recommend her!

If you are looking for warm and fuzzy feeling, she is not the one for you. For me, I don't need my doctor to social with me, I need to know she knows what she's doing, and Dr. Bickman KNOWS what she's doing. I love Dr. Bickman and I am glad I was referred to her. She encourages you to ask questions since she wouldn't know what you want to know about. Unlike some other doctors, she is reachable via emails even at the weekends! I would recommend her to all of my friends and family. Sometimes it does take long to see her, the longest I have waited was 1.5 hours, but that didn't happen often. Overall, I'm glad I have Dr. Bickman.

I recently delivered my first child with Dr. Bickman. She was extremely helpful, professional and caring throughout my pregnancy. I like that she delivers her own patients. This allowed me(and her) to really get to know each other. She also has email and is VERY prompt in replying to emails (and phone calls). My labor was just as i imagined. SHe was great during the process. She was very understanding and respectful of my and my husband's wishes during labor. Her bedside manner is very professional, yet warm and friendly. we felt totally confident in her hands. She was WONDERFUL. I highly recommend her and will be back to see her for #2. Go see her!!!!

We liked Dr. Bickman from the second we met her. She is obviously an expert in her field, yet is very approachable and attentive to our questions and concerns. Going through a sad but unfortunately common miscarriage right off the bat, we found her to be highly responsive (phone & email) and immediately personable. We look forward to experiencing a healthy pregnancy with her in the future.

I was referred to Dr. Bickman by my girlfriend. My girlfriend raved about her so I went to see her. Dr. Bickman was as terrific as my friend said. ALthough I did have to wait a little (she was delivering a baby!) , I was happy to meet her. SHe was warm, compassionate and knowldgeable. I have been having gyneclogical problems for years and and have been to many gynecologists. Dr. Bickman was the forst one to really take a thorough history and do a complete examination. She answered all my questions and asked me very relevant questions too. I felt very comfortable in her hands and am very confident she will help me as best she can. For the first time in years, I am feeling good, and I owe it all to Dr. Bickman! I am so grateful to my friend for recommending her and appreciative of Dr. Bickman's treatment. I without a doubt, recommend Dr. Bickman.

I have to say, I am quite shicked at some of the postings. Dr. Bickman has been a wonderful doctor for me over years. she delivered our first child. She is knowledgeable, caring and patient. She would spend time with me each visit and make me feela s if I was her only patient. There was sometimes a wait, but she is well worth it. She is sometimes busy, because she is so good. My husband and I had a hard time getting pregnant, and Dr. Bickman was there for us, every step of the way. She is awesome! I can't wait to get pregnant again and spend another 9 months with her. Not only is she intelligent and very experienced in her field, she is warm and friendly and has good bedside manner. She always made me feel good and I feel very confident in her hands. I would highly recommend Dr. Bickman to my mother, sister and best friend. She is the best doctor I have ever been to!!

Dr. Bickman was rude and unsympathetic to my concerns about getting pregnant. I understand that some doctors have limited bed-side manners, but her demeanor was more than that. She could have been having a bad day, but that is no excuse for practically making me cry! Also, the information she provided me turned out to be incorrect. I would never recommend her to anyone, especially after waiting for over an hour to see her!

After switching insurance companies, we were left to find a new OB/GYN in my 4th month of pregnancy. Dr. Bickman was the 1st dr. we made an appt. with, and we did not have to search any further. She is very knowledge, patient and inviting. We were pleased to know she responsed quickly to emails questions and conerns. I am thrilled that we found Dr. Bickman and look forward to her delivering our baby in a few months.

My husband and I LOVE Dr. Bickman! She is knowledgable, professional, and very personable. We wouldn't trust any other doctor in Los Angeles to help us through our pregnancy and the delivery of our baby. She has 4 young children of her own, which makes it easy to relate to her. We feel that we can ask her anything and get an educated, honest answer. We have been incredibly pleased with the entire staff in her office--from the front desk to the nurses. We couldn't be happier with our experience.

I'm currently switching from Cedars to Dr Bickman. I haven't delivered my baby yet but she has been extremely responsive to my emails. Since she's been my obgyn for a couple years i can say she's not a warm bedside manner type of doctor but she does always ask if i have any questions at the end of my visits. The waits do seem a little longer but I'd rather know that she's delivering the baby. With the doctor I picked at Cedars he was part of a group of five so you didn't know which doctor would be working that night. And one of those doctors really was unhelpful at answering any questions. Dr. Bickman also has birthing privileges at the new UCLA birthing center and I really want to go there instead of Cedars which is known as the c-section hospital.

I have been with Dr. Bickman for a couple of years. She helped me get pregnant. After years of infertility, i finally became pregnant. Shewas amazing through the process. She was very patient and compassionate with me and my husband. We never felt rushed with her. She spent so much time with me, through my journey of conception. My pregnacy course with her was equally good. I gave birth to my daughter a couple weeks ago. It was the most wonderful experience i could have ever imagined. Dr. Bickman made my labor and delivery easy and relaxing. Our daughter is perfect. We owe it all to Dr. Bickman. She's the best!!!

I am surprised at the negative comments about Dr. Bickman. My daughter had a difficult pregnancy and Dr. Bickman was very kind and helpful. At 35 weeks she began to have problems and Dr. Bickman put her in the hospital and watched her very carefully until she had to do a c-section at 36 weeks. Everything went beautifully and I credit Dr. Bickman's care for the wonderful outcome.

I am sorry but I have to say she's the worst doctor I've ever had so far. My uterine has been bleeding rather heavily. After several visits, I finally had an ultra sound scan. I haven't been able to have her explain the scan results which I got from other doctors in the same network, let alone working out some plan to stop the bleeding. No replies to either emails or phone calls!

I started seeing Dr. Bickman when I was pregnant with my first (and only so far) child, and I truly have nothing but positive things to say about her. She was extremely knowledgeable and I felt better knowing that she herself had gone through four pregnancies. She is very busy, and she was late for some appointments but I always figured that was part of being a doctor who delivers babies! I have recommended her to 2 friends now who have also had positive experiences with her.

Just saw Dr. Bickman this morning. I was in and out of her office in 30 minutes! I've found that if I book an afternoon appointment, the wait time is long, so I now schedule morning appointments. Dr. Bickman delievered my daughter and loved the pre-natal care that she provided. Yes, her personality can be harsh at times, but overall she is a very nice and funny person. I have to say that I look forward to seeing her!

I unfortunately have to agree with the negative comments on this posting. I went to Bickman while I was pregnant with my first and only child. The wait times were excessively long, often over an hour. I practically had to pin her coat to the floor to get her to answer my questions. I would not return to her, nor would I refer a friend to her. The one positive thing I would say about her is that I do think she was medically knowledgeable. Although this is clearly an important asset for a doctor, I don't think you should have to choose between that and friendliness and support.

I see so few good remarks about dr. bickman but I dont feel that way about her. She was kind and yes I had to ask her questions but I never felt rushed or like she was bothered to answer them. The wait was never super long... the most I have waited was 30 minutes but what Doctors' do you not wait. Now, I did have to wait forever for her to deliver the baby because she was booked up while I was in labor and that was upsetting but overall I had a good experience with her.

I REALLY would think twice about going to her. She double and triple books patients. 2x I waited 1.5 hours for a 15 min. appt! The only time I saw compassion was when I had to have a d&c.I could tell that she cared but other than that it was not an experience you want to have, esp when it's your first pregnancy and you have lots of questions. She prefers to get questions via email- maybe this gives you an idea! It's a shame, I really wanted to like her but after getting rushed each time after waiting so long, plus feeling like my questions didn't matter, I realized that this wasn't meant to be.If she didn't take so many patients I think she would be a really good dr to go through your pregnancy with. I need someone who has time to care for me as a real person. Plus, front desk doesn't pay close attention to the name on files. They messed up 2x! I have a common first&last name but still! Also, no follow up on lab tests. Being pregnant is stressful enough without this to deal with too

This review is late (sorry!). Had Bickman for 1st preg'y: Feb-Oct 05. Visits very short-10 min tops, office staff was nice to me, had u/s at each visit (I was low risk). I asked very few questions. Thought my 1 preg. book told me everything. Bickman doesn't volunteer info even if this is your 1st preg'y. With her you must be very proactive & ask lots of questions. If you like this approach, fine. I like a doc who'll give info w/o me always having to ask. At 39th wk ckup, I casually asked what she'd want to do if I went over my 'due date'. She said u/s show'g baby measur'g big so she'd induce after 1 wk overdue. At 40th week ckup she induced me w/o warning! This was 5 days before due date!! Baby measuring 'big' not equal to valid medical reason to induce. Ended up this-close to being a c-sec b/c I wasn't dilating further. I think she did it hoping I'd become c-sec which obviously fits her SCHEDULE better. Even if I still lived in WLA, I'd never go back.

I've been to this doctor twice and I've received the positive and negative results that have been posted here. The first time I saw the doctor she was friendly and concerned. I had an ovarian cyst removed a year earlier and she performed an ultrasound on the spot on my first visit with her. She mentioned she found another cyst and to just come back in a few months. I did not receive any follow up results from that ultrasound. My next visit was for a routine pap. This is when I experienced the super rushed, could-care-less doctor. She gave me a few sample packs of new birth control that arrived at her office. When I needed refills 3 months later, I had a hard time refilling the prescription and then found out the pills were super expensive than my previous ones and cost $50+ for a months supply! I'm not happy with this doctor and regardless of her education, background and experience, I'd prefer a doctor that is not too busy and shows more concern.

The worst I have ever received from a doctor. Twice, I waited one hour over my appointment time. Bickman told me I needed to get an ultrasound. Called the lab to make an appointment. They told me she had to call in the order first. Called her office 5 times. Lab called her 2 times before she called in the order. That took one month. To get my results, I called her another 4 times. Was another month before I got my results. During the visits when I asked her questions, she got defensive as if she thought I was questioning her authority. After the 2nd visit, I could not get a hold of her to get my results. So I finally faxed and called in a request to have copies of my file mailed to me. I called 8 times. NEver got the report. During the 2nd visit, I asked her to perform a specific test on me. She told me she did. When I changed doctors, my new doctors obtain my record from Bickman and told me that there was no record of the test ever been done on me by Bickman. Did Bickman lie? Hmmm...

I had nothing but a hard time with Dr. Bickman. I unfortunately felt part of my csec, the meds didnt work on one side of my torso. Which I am sure happens and its not her fault. But let me tell you her bedside manner sealed the****ty deal with her. When this was going down she did not comfort what so ever. When all was said and done, she didnt acknowledge what had happened. I was hysterical during it, crying and screaming feeling that the whole time. My husband said its because they cant legally so they do not admit and fault. Fine ok but how about some words of comfort or assurance. Anyways that was the last straw with her, my whole prenatal relationship sucked with her. Wish I was one of the happy few before this comment.

I truly don't understand the negative reviews for Dr. Bickman. I'm five months pregnant and have been seeing her since I was 5 weeks. She's very friendly, never moody, very open to spending as much time with you as you want and need. I've e-mailed her on serveral occasions and have received a response within an hour, even on a Sunday evening!!!!!!! What Doctor gives you that kind of care these days. I highly recommend Dr Bickman, she has a great disposition and is thorough...I feel totally confident with her delivering my baby!

I can't really figure out the negative reviews here. My experience with Dr. Bickman has been amazing. She saw my husband & I through 5 rounds of artificial inseminations and we are now almost 5 months pregnant. She does not keep office hours on Thursdays but she came in every Thursday I ovulated for my inseminations. She is always immediatley available via Blackberry and I get responses to questions within an hour of e-mailing her. I am considered high risk due to my age (37) and I am carrying twins. I see her every 2 weeks and get an ultrasound with every visit. She will be delivering our babies via C-section and I have no hesitation with trusting her. Yes, sometimes she is over booked, but she can't control emergencies. When your time comes, you'll want her to be there for you too and I can understand why she runs behind. She is a great doctor and a very kind person.

First, very glad to find this site, wish I had reviewed it prior to my last several months of care with Bickman. I agree with most complaints, you will never know which Dr. Bickman you will get, the kind one or the abrupt one. The office wait is horrible. The parking for this office, horribly expensive. The office staff are swamped and unable to tend to the needs of three dr's patient loads. Was seeing this dr. for prenatal care and never felt as though I was completely comfortable with her bedside manner. Ended up moving offices, down the hall and have felt better. Good Luck!

Wish I would have read these reviews before I went to see her. My visit was a complete waste of time. She spent just a few minutes with me and was very rushed. She ordered a bunch of lab tests then never followed up with me. I had to call her office several times before I could get the results. I asked repeatedly that I wanted the doc to call me back and she never did. I have given up on her. Very very unreliable. Since she never followed up, I am not able to assess how knowledgeable she is.

I wish I had found this site before I made my prenatal schedule. What it boils down to is, sure Dr. Bickman is competant and can delivery a baby with her eyes closed. However she is too damn over booked, her patientload is so big that patients pay the price. She was so busy that she didnt even notice or ask about me skipping my gluclose test.I was relieved yet alarmed at the same time. When I had my csec, she knew I was allergic to vicoden and sent me home with it anyway. Which is fine, mistakes happen BUT she and her staff had to be herassed practically by my husband to get the correct pain meds. THEY WOULD NOT HELP. I was in so much pain, just got home from the hospitol. We spent a couple hours tracking her down and then she was completely annoyed that I refused to deal with the answering service and wanted to directly speak with her. I told her my staples were infected and was ignored, had to keep them in 4 days longer than I should because they sched.my appt on a day she wasnt there!

I had my first visit with Dr. Bickman yesterday. I read all of the reviews before making my appointment. There were many doctors to chose from and going from a list is difficult, so after reading her reviews on ratemd.com I figured I would give her a try. With the number of reviews she had you have to figure not everyone is going to have the best experiance but overall she scored well, so I made an appointment for a consultation. When I got there I was greeted with a smile her medical assistant Lala was very warm and informed. I was very pleased with my visit with Dr. Bickman. This is my first pregnancy and I had some questions for her which she answered and spent a great amount of time with me. I'm sure she's busy but I did not feel rushed at all! She even gave me her email address and told me to feel free to use it. I am very glad I went and I look forward to keeping her as my ob/gyn for the future!

Bickman is very inconsistent--sometimes she's nice, and other times you get the brusk, abrupt version. I actually like her personally, I think she's funny, but it wasn't very funny when I had a c-section and she didn't spend more than 5 minutes with me at any of my daily appointments in the hospital nor at my follow up appointments in her office. She gave the impression that she was annoyed by my questions (and I'd been an undemanding patient so far--just scared about the surgery follow up, and the pain) and was always running out the door. The office is a disaster time management-wise--I've never waited less that 45 minutes and as much as 2 hours...with an appointment. I won't be going back to her.

I saw Dr. Bickman for over 2 years. During that time I was treated for a serious problem which required invasive procedures. She was always friendly, personable, and sincere and took as much time as I needed. She always answered my endless questions in detail. She runs late because she takes time with her patients. I have moved out of state and can't find a Dr I feels as comfortable with. I highly recommend her!

I'm actually really surprised by the negative comments some people wrote about Dr Bickman, but I guess everyone has a different experience. The gyno I had before her made me feel very uncomfortable and rushed, but when I found Dr Bickman, it was like a lottery win to me. I think she is fabulous. She always makes me feel comfortable, and I feel like I can ask her anything. She is always friendly and kind toward me, and really makes me feel like I'm in good hands. When I read some negative comments about her, I kept checking the name to make sure I wasn't reading the wrong dr's review. I've been with her for a few years, and it's been very positive for me. Yes, I had late test results once, but I am pretty sure that is bound to happen at some point in any doctor's office. She's by far the best gyno I've ever had and I will go to her as long as I can. I've recommended her to other people who feel the same.

(1) Not personable, very impatient, always late, not thorough in exams. I said, maybe I’m sensitive. (2) Wanted to donate cord blood but kept giving me the runaround for weeks about waiving the fee, as recommended by the donation bank. I just wanted a yes or no. I figured it was a no but we still had her deliver. (3) While she was stitching me up from my tear, she kept asking why we didn’t call her earlier. My first child, how was I to know that I would be 9 cm when I got to the hospital? I didn't have an epidural, I’m in pain! Can we talk about if after you’re done stitching me up? (4) She didn't circumcise my son and didn't refer us to a specialist. We had to find ourselves what to do. Still, I kept her.(5) I had to have surgery for mastitis. The surgeon asked why she didn't send me for an ultrasound when I was abscessed. She just gave me another round of antibiotics, which were for the wrong bacteria. This was the last straw. Don't learn the hard way like I did!

Another vote for unhelpful and disorganized. I, too have been waiting 2 months for test results. They have lost my chart...AGAIn. I have been in to give samples 4 times, each time they either lose it or don't know results ater a MONTH. HORRIBLE1 I would never, ever EVER trust this office with my baby. It is like being at County, yet I have good insurance. Bye Bye Bickman!

This is the worst doctor/doctors office I have ever been to. VERY unorganized & very rude. I went in for a visit 2 months ago and still dont know my results. Dr. Bickman was rude and treated me like I was an idiot for not understanding things she was saying to me. I have left over 6 messages with her and her staff, written 3 emails and came in personally to get my results, and still dont know. I waited for over 2 hours and when it was finally my turn to go in she turned me away and said she had other patients to attend to. Her office didnt even process my insurance so now i have to deal with adjusting my claims for procedures I dont even know the results of. I hated everything about this doctor and the staff. I could have cancer, but she doesnt have the decentcy to call a paying patient back. She is the most uncaring & uniformed doctor. Don't step foot in this office, you will regret it!!!! They are there to collect your money and send you out the door on your butt!

I used Dr Bickman for my first pregnancy and I was so pleased with her that I have not yet found a new Dr even though I moved away almost 2 years ago. I found her to be kind, knowledgable, a great listener and she always gave me the time I needed to answer questions and calm conscerns. I agree that the office staff leaves a lot to be desired, and I agree that she does not keep to her schedule well at all. But that is true of many Dr's I've had and if you can get an early appointment it usually helps. Overall she was an excellent OB for me and I miss having her as my Dr.

Don't go to Dr. Bickman if you actually need anyone to respond to you via telephone or call your pharmacy. THE OFFICE NEVER CALLS THE PHARMACY BACK FOR REFILLS. If you call the office, you are left on hold forever, and then treated to an obnoxious attitude.

The last visit I had to Dr. Bickman's office, I waited 1 hour and 50 minutes, then my examination was over in less than 5 minutes. There was no apology. This visit was prompted by an alarming letter sent by a nurse, Del, saying she had left me multiple messages and that I needed to come back to Dr. Bickman ASAP. It was very unsettling to recieve the letter, so I tried to contact Dr. Bickman. I left 6 messages over 2 weeks and never received a call back. I also verified all phone numbers the office had on record and they had the correct numbers (I've had for over 3 years). Dr. Bickman is friendly, but she seems rushed and provides short, rushed answers always explaining that there's nothing to worry about. I started to feel like this office may be conducting unnecessary procedures on me just for the revenue. I have no idea if I'm healthy or I'm just in a bad situation.

Dr. Bickman removed a large ovarian cyst, and she was very knowledgeable and helpful. She took the time to answer any questions I had about the surgery in person and via email. She was very detail-oriented and thorough which I appreciated, and her follow-up was impeccable. Since Dr. Bickman sees patients in and out of surgery, she is an expert in her field. She would check on me in the hospital since her medical office was across the street. I was very satisifed with the surgery results and would recommend her to other patients.

I saw Dr. Bickman throughout my entire first pregnancy. I was on bedrest for 16 weeks. She caught my problem and diagnosed me. I am thankful for her time. I delivered at week 37. She does specialize in infertility and high risk problems. She is helping me out now with my second pregnancy. About her puntuality, I saw her at 8:30am, first thing in the morning. So I can understand waiting as the day goes by. She also runs across the street to check up on patients. I have been to other OBs and the wait is the same. About 1 hour. I find her straigh forward and to the point. That's the person I liked. If you want someone warm and fuzy she may not be the doctor for you. Factual and too the point, that what she is. Her nurse is great. I like the front staff as well. I have never had a billing problem with them either.

I was extemely disspointed with my experience with Dr Bickman. The office is very busy and you usually wait at lease 1 hour. Then She is very quick and acts like she does not have any time to answer your questions. My biggest concern however and the reason I left 30 weeks pregnant and found another OB is that she is very rough during the pelvix exam and after she did a swab to secreation for a fibronectin test, she was so rough I ended up the the hospital with for uterine contractions. I had the test performed elsewhere later and it did not hurt at all. I was going to have c-section and became very concerned about her ability to delivery my baby gently. When I told her office I was leaving she called me on the phone and yelled at me for leaving saying I was ungrateful. She also did an Ultrsound everytime I went to see her (once a week after 5 months due to some complications I was having) which I later learned was not nessasary but was very expensive.

I had to wait a very long time to see her (more than an hour in the waiting room and another 30 minutes inside the office while half naked). While in the office, I could hear her talking to other people outside about matters that didn't seem important or medical related. Once she came inside, she was not polite, did not listen to my questions and got me out of the office in 2 minutes. This is not the kind of person that I feel comfortable to take care of my future pregnancy.
