:) Click to report rating *  3/18/10 5 5 5 At 67 years old, I have met the whole spectrum of service providers, and there is one that stands head and shoulders above all of them. His name is Dr. Raffi Der Sarkissian in Quincy MA.This doc is the consummate professional. He is a true master at his art. My wife had to have corrective facial "plastic" surgery due to a rare condition that only a few docs in the world are capable of handling or even understanding. Moreover, in the course of the corrective surgery procedure, he went far above and beyond what the insurance company would allow at no extra charge to us. It is now a year after the operation, and she looks fantastic! This man is absolutely the tops in this field, bar none. I don't have enough adjectives in my vocabulary to even begin to describe how great he truly is. If you want to contact me for more, my email is: rneal5014@aol.com

:( Click to report rating *  5/9/09 2 2 1 I will not be surprised if this review is not posted because I asked the administrators of this site to remove my original review last year, which I now regret. I was talked into removing it by Dr. D's office manager when he agreed to see me after my begging for him to review my condition again, as I knew he recognized the problem and how to fix it when I first met with him in 2002. He later negated his own original evaluation, after I was "blacklisted" as a patient when Dr. Joel Feldman unsuccessfully tried to have my photos removed from the Internet by court order. You may read all the details of my experience with Dr. D on my website. Please copy and paste the URL to visit: http://losingface.net

:) Click to report rating    4/27/09 5 5 5 Dr. D is the top of his class in every sense of the word. He is a skilled plastic surgeon who has a keen eye for aesthetics, facial balance and beauty. When I had my primary rhinoplasty, Dr. D listened to all the requests I had and was extremely upfront about what would reasonably be accomplished. He made me feel at ease pre-operatively and his kindness persisted even after my procedure. He is extremely willing to work with patients to obtain a desirable outcome. As a physician myself, I am keenly aware of what sets Dr. D apart from others: first and foremost are his skill and competence as a plastic surgeon, but just as importantly his kind and compassionate professionalism is unmatched! - Dr. SC

:( Click to report rating    4/24/09 1 1 1 Whenever I read these wonderful reviews about Dr. D it makes me all the more angry that he refused to help my friend, but he did use her to get on HBO. He has the skill to help her and he has the heart to help all these other "hopeless cases", yet I have had to watch my friend become totally disabled because Dr. D gave her lame excuses for years about her condition, claiming he doesn't know what is wrong with her or how to help her. He never even examined her as he should have or sent her for the kinds of x-rays he mentioned on two occasions when I was with her during appointments with him. This is wrong. I know for a fact that she actually "begged" him for help, but instead, he just engaged in stall tactics, hoping she would just stop asking him for help. Now she has.. and because of his attitude towards her, she stopped asking anyone for help. If he has a conscience, I hope it bothers him.

:) Click to report rating    4/17/09 5 5 5 I would like to start by saying that Dr. D is a GOD when it comes to plastic surgery. I say this because i went through 4 nose surgeries and all unsuccessful. I did the first surgery because i couldn't breathe right. The doctors at Mass Eye and Ear all told me to do cosmetic because my septum needed to be straigtened out, and that would be the only way it would work. WRONG. I did it 3 times, FAILED all three. I looked HORRIBLE! Then I got into a car accident, and yeah, my nose broke, did surgery and my nose was deviated ALL the way to the left. I looked like a FREAK! I felt embarressed to go out, take pictures ad it killed my self confidence. Then i read about Dr. D online, and was please to know he was in Quincy MA, 15 min from me! I made an appointment, and was the BEST, he walked me through it, was HONEST about the results to be expected. He did a rib grapht, under my right breast, so he consealed the scar and I look AWESOME! Dr. D, thanks for restoring my confidence, you are a GOD!

:) Click to report rating    4/13/09 5 5 5 Best doctor I've ever gone to. He cares. He's technically proficient. He delivers. He'll do what other doctors won't do: He'll listen, he'll decide what problem is, and he'll fix it, nicely. Can't get any better than that! He is the best!!!!

:) Click to report rating    3/31/09 5 5 5 I must say Doc Sarkissian is one of the best plastic Surgeon's (Artist's) out there. I have been a profeesional male model for the last 13 years and never wanted to change my face , yet maintain it , retain it , and look natural. He has a knack, and honesty about keeping it real and natural. He has always been real with me on what will and what will not happen and would never do a procedure he felt would be harmful or make me look bad. I can honestly say no one can see I have had botox, sculptra, or restalyn because he knows when enough is enough.Men are new to plastic surgery and I see a lot of freak shows on tv, looking effeminized.Doctore D will never give you unrealistic expecations .He keeps it real and is a good man, and to me, the best Plastic Surgeon in the Boston area. If you would like photos of me you can email me at mk_morrow@hotmail.com .

:) Click to report rating    3/8/09 5 5 5 Whenever I recount the story of my near death after an accident in 2001, people can barely believe from looking at me today that I underwent extensive facial reconstructive surgery. My response usually goes as follows; "Thank you, but I did have one of the top plastic surgeons in the country!" This surgeon is Dr. Raffi Der Sarkissian. Throughout my recovery, Dr. D's compassion and attentiveness was hard to match. He left his mark on my life, both through his artistic and professional skill restoring my face, and by his compassion and caring nature. There is much more to say about this amazing doctor. Since space is restricted here, I would like to invite you to see my full story, which also features Dr. D, as told by Tom Brokaw in a dateline documentary. http://www.hulu.com/watch/7643/tom-brokaw-reports-sudden-impact-****-driving Also see me and other patients honoring Dr. D in an NECN story: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=66114547194&h=a8_vi&u=tjYwJ Lillie Paquette

:) Click to report rating    2/9/09 5 5 5 I had a procedure done on February 3, 2009 at Quincy Medical Center. Dr. DerSarkissian performed the procedure. I am extremely satisfied with the whole process. Dr. D. and his staff at the Quincy Medical Center were so professional and courteous! I was so pleased with his knowledge and skills. The whole experience was excellent. The service was great, punctual and professional. The office visits have very little waiting time (less than ten minutes) and Dr. D. and his staff gave me plenty of time to ask any questions. Overall it was a very positive experience. I would recommend Dr. D. and Quincy Medical Center to everyone.

:( Click to report rating    12/2/08 3 3 1 I accompanied Lucille to see dr. as did the posted below, and was present in the exam room with Dr.der-Sarkissian and his secretary, June 2008. During this long consultation, she showed him the ways she must pull and push on her neck to breathe. He never examined her in any way until she ASKED him to feel what she was doing and had to take his hand and place it on her neck, which he did reluctantly; not enough to actually feel what I have felt with my own hands many times, as has Erika. We have seen Lucille's health deteriorate for years while this doctor, who appeared in HBO's film because she gave them his name. Dr. told film makers there was definitely something wrong with her throat from a facelift done elsewhere, then changed his story for the camera. I saw him examine the inside of her mouth and pay no attention when she had to stop him because she couldn't breathe with her head up. I think she could have stopped breathing right there and he still would have thought she was OK

:( Click to report rating *  11/17/08 2 2 1 I accompanied my friend to appointments with Dr.D and vouch for her honesty in presenting the facts about her experience with him. All the glowing comments from other patients makes it all the more disturbing that this outstanding surgeon would refute his own initial findings or deliberately ignore reports from other specialists. I was there in the room when Dr. D's hands just couldn't manage to examine her properly. Lucille repeatedly showed him what she had to do to breathe and swallow. I have duplicated this "manual maneuver" for her COUNTLESS times. It is impossible NOT to feel the tension on the layer beneath her skin that has been pulling her jaw back, causing her to choke and obstructing her airway. If I can do this with my hands, certainly a surgeon should be able to feel this with no problem. But he didn't. It isn't that he CANNOT do it.. he just WOULD NOT. It's intentional. See my reply to post below.

:( Click to report rating    11/15/08 2 2 1 ENT doc referred me to Dr. D in 2002 for serious problems from facelift by another surgeon. His report clearly stated cause of probelm was platysma,& option of surgical release of muscle if noimprovement. Things got worse, difficulty breathing & swallowing. Returned to Dr.after 2 MBS studies indicating platysma as a cause. He IGNORED evidence of the MBS,PFT, reports from ENT &pulmonologist, all indicating positional airway obstruction, dysphagia, restricted neck extension resulting from face/neck lift. When I returned for surgery Dr. D did about-face, saying he found "nothing tangible upon which to operate", contradicting his own initial finding. I agr participated in HBO's 'Plastic Disasters' with Dr. D. His betrayal destroyed my trust so thoroughly See websites & read about my 6 year experience with Dr. D, including medical records, correspondence & an account of our final meeting. :) Click to report rating    10/18/08 5 5 5 Dr. D was my doctor years and years ago back when he was practicing as an ENT doc in Washington State. I was a teenager when he did my 12th ear surgery. All of my other doctors were awful. He took the time to explain everything to me and did an amazing job on my surgery. I need surgery again and want to travel from Washington State to have him do my next surgery. He is by far the best doctor I've dealt with in my life. I just wish I had insurance now and a place ticket!

:) Click to report rating    9/16/08 5 5 5 Dr. D did the last phase of my son's cleft lip surgery. He was great talking with a 17 year old about what needed to be done and did not try to push any extra plastic surgery. My son was extremely happy with the results and we both would recommend him highly.

:) Click to report rating    12/7/07 5 5 5 I have a rare hereditary disease and was in need of complicated facial surgery. This doctor unlike others took my case on without any regard for the amount of my insurance. I thoroughly checked his record. A professor at Boston University Medical School, most highly respected by nurses and physicians, and found he had performed many successful surgeries on hopeless cases. I learned, he volunteers surgeries for impoverished countries in South America and Far East. I had two surgeries. One lasted 21 hours including recovery and the other 11 hours giving me a high improved life quality. I learned there are so many of the hopeless he has helped. There is no negativism in any surgeries that I have learned about. He is a great human person. Unfortunately, I feel compassion for patients he consults that he does not have a solution for so called botched surgeries of others. I highly recommend this caring most skillful surgeon to all in need.

:) Click to report rating    7/15/07 5 5 5 I cannot recommend Dr. Sarkissian highly enough. He is an immensely talented plastic surgeon who I feel can readily be compared to an artist in the way he approaches and performs cosmetic surgery. I feel he "sculpted" my face perfectly with results that far exceeded my expectations and that look so natural that people who don't know I've had surgery can't figure out why I look younger. In addition, Dr. Sarkissian is a kind, compassioinate physician who is very easy to work with. I really appreciated his honesty about what was needed to achieve the results I wanted and that he did not try to "sell" more extensive procedures. As a nurse, I am picky about whose hands I place my care in and I couldn't imagine feeling safer with anyone else. And finally his rates are more reasonable than some of Boston's "boutique" plastic surgeons!

:) Click to report rating *  7/14/07 5 5 5 After consulting with many doctors, I decided to choose Dr. Der Sarkissian. He was by far the most knowledgeable and clear in his explanations. He was able to answer all my questions, and I had many, with patience and a caring attitude. I NEVER felt my questions were stupid or trivial as I had felt during other consultaions in the the past. It has been years since mt surgery and I continue to refer Dr Dersarkissian to my friends and clients with confidence. Any surgery I reqiure in the future will be performed by him.

:) Click to report rating *  7/12/07 5 5 5 WOW, after reading the last comment I am surprised! I had a wonderful experience with Dr. D, and recommend that he is indeed one of the better facial plastic surgeons...If I am correct I actually saw the documentary on HBO about this woman who was diagnosed with body dismorphia. I had actually talked to Dr. D about this segment. He put me at ease, and I was confident 100% I choose the right physician.
