26/03/14 4 4 2 3 Measure my blood pressure right after taking the Pap smear test. I berely removed my feet from the stirrups!. His diagnosis was: you have high blood pressure. Than he gave me a sample of blood pressure medication to take for two weeks. Of course I took none as my blood pressure is most often either low or normal! I'm definitely not impressed.  Respond

15/06/10 4 4 4 5 Good doctor, punctual & kind, quick to prescribe medications. Was my family doctor for 10+ years and my only caution is I would strongly recommend against seeing him if you have a soft tissue injury from an ICBC claim. He seems to dislike the paperwork (but who wouldn't), my main concern is I found him to be dismissive about my pain concerns & hesitant to refer me to massage/physio which I wish I'd done right after my accident. Other that that, he is great.  Respond

18/03/10 5 4 1 1 Have an ICBC claim? Stay away from this doctor. He does not want anything to do with them and will not support you in the end. His clinical notes refer to his assessments and assumptions, however he barely moves past the door to do an assessment. This doctor does not seem to believe in the work of therapists (ie. massage, chiro, etc.)and will consider their treatments and notes to be inconsistent if it does not match his. This doctor is very pro-medication so if you are looking for drugs then sign up with this clinic!! I am not happy with him as a family doctor and could not wait until my ICBC claim was done to transfer to a new doctor. Too bad I waited!! But he won't keep you waiting!! he's almost always on time.  Respond

15/03/10 5 4 1 1 If you are looking for a referral or a prescription then this is your guy. He is very pro-medication and anti anything else. He does not believe in any sort of natural treatments. He does not have much of a personality and has only managed to say more then 2 words when he is doing a physical exam. I don't think he should have been a family GP. He's great with the really young and really old, but not so much in between. Mind you with his outdated archiac knowledge and beliefs i would not take my kids to him. On the flip side, he is almost always on time and Nicole does a great job!!  Respond

25/02/10 5 5 5 5 I've been seeing Dr. DeMarchi for 22 years now and, other than when out of the country, don't even consider seeing other doctors. I think he's professional, to the point, yet caring. He has great balance of humour and joy with professionalism. I hold him in the utmost respect.  Respond

12/03/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. D is a five. Does his very best to not keep you waiting more than a few minutes. He is attentive and caring. He does expect the patient to get to the point as he has many to see. Is knowledgable and very up to date. You are very lucky to have him as your doctor.  Respond

22/02/09 5 5 5 5 Dr. DeMarchi is competent and caring. I have found him to be well up on recent medical treatment and investigations. He has minimal wait times yet is always thorough and takes time to listen me. Best of all, I'm 85 years old now but as I have all my wits about me,he feels he can promise to keep me going strong for another 10 years. Thanks to Ron for all the great care over the years. I would recommend Dr. Demarchi to anyone looking for a good doctor.  Respond

07/06/07 5 4 4 He has been my doctor for many years and always solved any problems I had. Although sometimes abrupt and rushed, he will take time if you ask specific questions. He is never reluctant to refer you to a specialist. He even changed his opinion about vitamins and supplements after seeing some of my results, and this is not common among most doctors. Although it is a bit like an assembly line, he has a lot of patients to look after, so is understandable. All in all, a good general practioner  Respond

01/06/07 5 5 5 Dr. D is awesome. Ive known him for several years now. Also went to the same highschool he did...yes...kinda intersting. Anywho, ya he is a very good doctor. Very helpful and as others have meantioned he does a good job of teaching u at the same time as diagnosing ur condition. Im a pre-med student and have found him to be a very good source of info. Give him two thumbs up...five stars out of five..etc...u get the idea.  Respond

01/04/07 5 5 5 My family and i have been with this doctor for over 25 years. Even after moving to another part of the city i still go back, he is knowledgable in all aspects of any problems i have had. He's te best doctor i have ever dealt with, and would highly recommend him to any who ask.  Respond

27/03/07 4 5 5 For a young Dr, I found him to be extremely sensitive to my feelings as a mature woman. He adressed my needs and made a last minute suggestion that I am so happy I took advantage of. I was surprised the rate for my procedure did not rise with this added service. Although he was not "waiting for me" in his office, I did not feel the wait was overly long and certainly shorter than I have experienced with other clinics at times. He performed a lovely surgery on me that I am most happy with and have recommended him highly to other women considering the same. His staff is wonderful as well and I will go back to let him see how I have healed when I return to the lower mainland in the spring. At no time did I have a hesitant thought about the care I would receive and he did not disappoint.  Respond

20/03/07 4 1 1 For serious illnesses he just doesn't have a clue. He made me feel humiliated and angry when he told me my illness was all in my head. He is abrupt, dismissive and at times condescending.  Respond

14/03/07 5 5 5 My family and I have been a patient of Dr Demarchi's for over 22 years and my experiences with him have been very positive. Yes he can be abrupt, and yes he often seems like he is on the fly, but that it one of the reasons you don't wait an extra 1/2 hour in his waiting room. I am very appreciative of that, as makes me feel that he recognizes my time is as valuable as his. There has never been a time when asked, that he has not stopped to answer any of my questions or address my concerns. He can be very personable and quite comical when you get to know him but as much as I appreciate a good bedside manner, I am more concerned that I have a good doctor who addresses my medical concerns and gets to the bottom of the problem. In this regard I have always been very pleased with the care my family and I have received.  Respond

05/12/06 5 4 4 I have found Dr.D. to usually be ready to listen to me. He has been sensitive and supportive to my situation and willing to delve deeper for more information if he finds anything concerning. Even though he can be abrupt and in a hurry at certain times of the day, he has become more friendly as the years have gone by. I trust him and that is important to me.  Respond

19/11/06 5 1 1 His abrupt manor, his comments to me about sensitive subject matter with the *door open* so others could hear, and the lack of respect when I brought my partner in to discuss things that affected us both disgust me about this doc. He's one of the worst I've ever seen - I'll never *ever* go back.  Respond

18/11/06 5 5 5 While Dr. D. can be brusque, he is there to help. Even if I throw a question at him as he's trying to get out the door, he always comes back to address it fully. He is patient, kind, and can be quite funny when you get to know him. I have not had any insensitive comments at all. A great doctor which I am grateful to have.  Respond

11/10/06 4 2 4 Seems to be quite knowledgeable about common illnesses and injuries. However, Dr. Demarchi often gives the impression that he is extremely hurried, and only spends a very brief amount of time with each patient. It's very much like a "fast-food medicine" experience, which is not very comforting when the subject of conversation is your health. He has also made some insensitive remarks to elderly patients in his care, which were so inappropriate that they switched doctors. My suggestion would be that he cut back on the number of patients he sees each day, in order to give each person a better feeling of personal care and attention during their consultation. His assistant, Nicole, is always friendly and courteous, which helps to boost the overall impression of the experience.  Respond
