Went to Dr. Mahvassah Abreu several times and liked her as a dentist. Would recommend on that issue.
Am now a former patient and when I called to get a copy of my x-rays - a process they admitted was no more than scanning and emailing to me - they charge $25! Clearly they know we need those records and are going to slap as high a fee as they can because we have no choice. I was disappointed by this preying on former patients - it's just not necessary and is bad business. Beware.

Dr. Abreu is wonderful and what's more, her staff is wonderful. She's always on time and is incredibly thorough. She's also kind, encourages questions and is a very skilled dentist.

I was very disappointed with Dr. Abreu. I had made an appointment months in advance because I was leaving the DC area, and switching insurances. My insurance covers 2 appointments per year, and does not require a 6 month gap between the appointments. Dr. Abreu neglected to mention at the time that I was setting up my appointment that she does not "believe" my insurance, even after the policy was faxed to her office, so I would need to pay the full value upfront. Very disappointing as now I am left without my last appointment simply because she does "trust" my insurance to follow the written policy. Don't waste your time making an appointment unless you want to pay the full cost.

I now love going to the dentist. Dr. Abreu made me feel so comfortable. from the smallest movements she was going to do while working my teeth, she informed me a few seconds before doing anything. My whole dental routine she went over it. I really was done with my new patient form and went straight in for X-Rays (cool machine) she went over my xrays with me and all! I origanlly wanted to get braces ($$$$) but she advised me that my teeth were in great shape and offered economically smart ($$) methods i can do to may teeth look as 'perfect' as i want them to. Keesha the front desk lady was great and extremely patient with me. Yeah to my new dentist!!!

Very friendly and I had Dr. Abreu the entire time to do my 2nd teeth cleaning for the year. Updated dental technology. Would see her again for future visits.

I really like Dr. Abreu. She is just the right balance of friendliness and professionalism, doesn't make you feel rushed but gets the job done quickly. As a dentist she is as good as they come; well educated, efficient, up on the latest techniques and procedures. She will explain why she is doing or would recommend whatever she does and also what other options are. Her staff is also very good, especially the front desk.

Dr. Abreu replaced one of my fillings and cleaned my teeth. She is friendly and knowledgeable. She thoroughly answered my questions and explained procedures without me having to ask. She works thoroughly and quickly. The waiting period for appointments is minimal and the in office wait time has always been short (less than 10 minutes). She gave me a toothbrush and floss after a cleaning without me having to ask (something some dentists don't do). This is my new dentist.

I thought she was great. I came around lunchtime and she was out at the front desk helping out b/c some of her help was out to lunch or preparing to go. This was my first visit - she came in the room and explained to me everything she was going to be doing - bitewings, go over xrays, and then cleaning/polish of teeth. I thought she was very gentle. She was very thorough in her explanation as to whats going on with my teeth and treatment I need to get. Referred me to an oral surgeon in the area that I need to go to. I think she's great, I will definitely be coming back. I 've already scheduled my next cleaning in 6 more months.

Don't be scared away by her foreign name and accent. She is a professional and can compete with any Ivy League dentist.

Great dentist - doesn't invent unnecessary problems like some dentists, but takes good care of my teeth.
