:( Click to report rating *  1/19/10 1 1 1 This doctor is very rude. I know how much of a pain it is to have to deal with medicaid, since I am the one who had to go through the process of getting on it, but I feel like I was pushed to the side because of my insurance. Since I'm a "medicaid patient" she didn't really care to give me her time or attention after I waited so long in her office. Overall I think there is a very noticeable discrimination when it comes to the type of insurance you carry.

:( Click to report rating *  1/19/10 2 1 2 I have been seeing Dr. Esses for a few years now but my recent visit to her left me very dissappointed. She doesnt have a Niceville location anymore so after traveling to her Santa Rosa Beach office I noticed first that there had been ANOTHER turn-over in staff, ofter waiting to get my annual update forms and turning them back in, my wait time was right at an hour and forty five minutes, which to me is to long to wait for your yearly visit, the waiting area was jam packed and some patients were even standing, her new office is very beautiful inside and out, but that doesnt make up for the long wait time or travel time. So now my annual visits turn into an all day event with wait time and travel. I really hope I dont have a problem and have to go back before next year. Not to mention how rushed I felt by her and how distracted she seemed. I was very dissapointed with my last visit to say the least.

:( Click to report rating *  1/12/10 1 1 1 She is terrible! She is very unprofessional, and the wait time is so long because of the overbearing amount of patients she has. Please heed my warning on this doctor!! If you are looking for a doctor who is very greedy then she is the doctor you are looking for! Make sure you pay her her share of money before she feels concerned for you or your unhealthy baby! The uncouth doctor we have around here and employed by the only decent prominent hospital is absolutely ridiculous! Thank God she is no longer a top priority at that hospital!!

:) Click to report rating *  9/8/09 4 3 5 Dr. Esses is solid as a rock professionally and personally. She knows what she is doing and I really appreciate her not TRYING to make friends with me. I went to her because I needed a medical professional and she is on point and helped keep me from delivering too early. There is no way that I will complain about a wait time when she is one doctor and has patients at her office, in the hospital, and complications that arise that are beyond her control. And by the way she is a mother and a wife and a good christian which is my favorite part of all. I challenge you to find anyone better. I love her and will defend her name to the end! Stop complaining. She is not malicious and out to get anybody. She is so beyond petty and small thinking. I admire her.

:) Click to report rating *  7/15/09 1 4 4 Dr. Esses is a good doctor and has a great reputation in the medical community. She does not have a good bedside manner, but otherwise is fine. Her office staff leaves something to be desired. Rude and unwilling to assist.

:) Click to report rating    6/15/09 1 4 3 Dr Esses is a great doctor, but her receptionist Leandrais rude and unwilling to help or listen. She is the first peron you talk to and gives the worst impression. No communication skills at all. Needs to be fired.

:) Click to report rating    6/5/09 5 4 5 I love Dr Esses & her staff! I moved to this area just after I became pregnant with twins! They have been wonderful. My boys were just delivered 7 weeks ago. I saw the below comment regarding wait times, I have waited as Dr Esses is in practice by herself & sometimes she has had to deliver babies and such. But, they have always apologized for my wait if I had one. I would highly recommend her practice & have sent friends to her!

:) Click to report rating    5/30/09 5 2 4 I have had a very positive experience with Dr.Esses and her staff.I did not encounter any bad attitudes at her office, everyone was very nice.I do feel that there needs to be improvement on the waiting times in the office due to the fact,I have waited 45 min to 1 hour to be seen and that is after arriving early or on time for my appts.I did not really feel that getting patients in and out in a timely manner was of very much importance to them. They never apolagized for the long wait.Over all I would reccomend her,but just know you may have to wait in the office for a while.

:) Click to report rating    5/13/09 5 5 5 Dr. Esses & her staff are wonderful! She just delivered my daughter and I had complications during my delivery (severe shoulder dystotia). If it weren't for Dr.Esses' experience I would have more then likely had to have a emergency C-section, but luckily she was experienced & was "on her toes" to complete my vaginal delivery safely! She is wonderful and more then experienced!! Her staff is also the best and easiest to work with, & have always been patient with me, as i was a very needy person during my pregnancy.

:) Click to report rating    5/8/09 4 4 5 I am in the medical field and have worked with Dr. Esses in the operating room. After working with both her and other surgeons in her same field, I would not go to ANYONE else in the area. She is extremely knowledgeable and cares about her patient's privacy in all situations. Again, I believe she is one of the best around.

:) Click to report rating    4/13/09 5 4 5 Dr. Esses is wonderful. I found out I was pregnant with twins, and the first OB/GYN I went to was awful. He told me I would have to have a C-Section regardless of the babies positions. After the first appointment I found Dr. Esses. She delivered my friend and sister-in-law's babies. She was very honest and sincere and was very helpful with all questions that I had. She never mentioned a C-Section, and actually pushed me to have a vaginal delivery. On due day, I was able to deliver both my twins without having C-Section. She talked me through the entire birth and made it a great experience. I look forward to her delivering my future children as well!

:) Click to report rating    4/8/09 5 5 5 Dr. Esses is nothing less than a WONDERFUL doctor!! She's professional, kind, and sincere. She is a laborer of the Lord in all that shes does. She is compassionate & empathetic. She delivered my son & I look forward to her delivering my future children! All the other posts about her being pushy is not the case; she takes in consideration for a healthy baby and a healthy mama...I went over my due date & she didn't mention inducing until I did! :)

:) Click to report rating    12/9/08 5 4 5 Dr. Esses is AWESOME. She delivered 2 of my children and 3 of my sisters, one being still born at 19 weeks. She is the reason that I have to healthy children. I did have 2 c-sections, but was not pushed to do either. My first was an emergency and yes it was truly an emergency. After being in labor for more then 20 hours we had no other choice but to get the baby out. She is a blessing and I am thankful that I switched to her near the end of my first pregnancy. My sister lost her baby at 19 weeks in August 2008 and Dr. Esses helped her through the whole experience. She attended the blessing of the baby and has made a great effort to check on my sister a number of times. Her staff may not be perfect and she may not say everything right or apologize everytime you wait more then 20 minutes, but she is sure on when it counts!

:) Click to report rating    9/12/08 4 4 5 I HAVE USED DR ESSES FOR A LONG TIME; SHE HAS HAD TURNOVER OF STAFF WHICH HAS DRAMATICALLY IMPROVED THE MANAGEMENT OF HER OFFICE. WHAT HASN'T CHANGED IS DR ESSES: SHE IS GREAT! SHE DELIVERED MY BABY AT THE FAMILY BIRTH PLACE AND EVERYTHING WAS WONDERFUL! SACRED HEART IS GREAT TOO ESPECIALLY IF YOU WANT A NATURAL BIRTH.

:) Click to report rating    8/22/08 1 5 5 Dr.Esses is nothing but a blessing to us. With my 1st baby Dr.Esses was in total control, she knew what she was doing, she believed in me during the delivery. Now 3 years later I am back to her expecting my second one. I am still very impressed with her professionalism! If Dr.Esses wasn't careful enough and missed out on me having contractions which I never felt I could have delivered my baby at 28 weeks! Because of HER I am still carrying my baby. I wanted my labor to be as natural as possible, no induction and no drugs and Dr. Esses was very positive about my way and proved to stick to the plan during the whole thing! I am so thankful for her care, she truly is one GREAT Dr! All nurses are very nice, no complains here. But the RECEPTIONIST GIRL at the desk is EXTREMELY RUDE over the phone and in person! she should be kept away from general public, much less should she ever work with preg. ladies! I truly hate to see her face everytime I come for my app. I give Dr.Esses 5+++++

:) Click to report rating    8/18/08 4 2 5 My experience with Dr. Esses was great. She and her entire staff were very caring and professional. I went to Dr. Esses after a Dr. put in an IUD while I was preganant! She saw me through the entire pregancy and handled it very well. She encouraged me to continue the pregnancy and I delivered a healthy baby girl. Thank you Dr. Esses!

:) Click to report rating    8/16/08 4 3 4 I am currently going to Dr. Esses. She seems very interested in my pregnancy and the healthiness of my baby. When I found out the gender of my baby, she acted just as excited as I did. I have two cousins who also went to her, and absolutely loved her. The waiting time is a little long, but the staff are all wonderful, and act like we have known each other years.

:) Click to report rating    7/31/08 4 5 5 Dr. Esses is a very wonderful doctor. My and all of my friends go to her. I am usually seen within 5 to 10 minutes of being there and an apology is given multiple times if not for the wait. The staff is all very kind to me. Maybe everybody else had attitudes with them or it was different staff. So far she has been nothing but a blessing

:| Click to report rating    7/22/08 1 1 2 Dr. Esses delivered my first child and I am trying for my next. She was highly recommended two years ago but from that point on her reputation has gone completely down hill. Other than her being nice when we where finally face to face, everything else needed drastic improvement. On 3 occasions they have no record of my appointment time, also never a courtesy phone reminder. The wait to see her is never less than 30 - 45 minutes, more so around and hour. Never an apology for the wait or responsibly for their mistakes, instead the patient is blamed. The turn over rate for their staff if extremely high as I have very rarely seen the same staff over the past two years. They have all been very rude, they hardly ever answer the phone and a call back is very delayed. I feel there has been entirely too many patients taken on, not allowing for her to give the time and attention to the patients, or give quality training to the staff so they are a good reflection of the practice.

:| Click to report rating    7/19/08 5 1 3 I was upset with the way she was so pushy about inducing. there was no reason for it. she just did for her convenience. i told her over and over that i just wanted to naturally go into labor. during labor she left in the middle of me pushing to go and do more appt. and to just have the nurse call her when the head started to crown. she had the worst bed side manner and i felt like i was wasting her time. during my pregnancy, she rushed my appt. time with her after already waiting a hour in the waiting room every time i went there.

:) Click to report rating    6/10/08 4 3 5 Dr. Esses delivered my daughter and my experience with her was wonderful. If she had not been comfortable using forceps, I would have had to get an emergency c-section. I feel she does not push c-sections and tries to avoid them. She is delivering my second child that is on the way as well! Some patients like their doctor to let them make all the decisions, I however feel that I am not qualified to make medical decisions since I am not a doctor. She is by the book, and if you don't like that, you may not appreciate her. She has a lot of patients, so she stays busy, but she is very hands on. She pushed with me the whole time! Nothing but good things with her! She has a great bedside manner!

:) Click to report rating    5/28/08 2 2 4 In 2006 I went to her to have a PAP and I also had other problems. Dr. Esses was very helpful in diagnosing and treating my very troubling problem. I was told to make an appt to return in 1 yr for another Pap or come back for any problem. I did show up for my PAP 1 year later and was told Medicare only paid every OTHER year so to just go home. I had driven quite a distance to be seen. No one notified me of this rule in advance. About a year later I got a very severe infection and called them. I was informed since I had not been seen, I would be considered a "new" patient" and I could not be seen as they were all booked up. I was in severe pain and had to go to an Urgent Care in Destin. The reason I did not go before was that I was healthy and was turned away for my yearly PAP. I felt I was NOT a new patient and was turned away, in great pain, unfairly. I will be finding a more caring gynecologist, although, Dr. Esses really treated me well. Her staff is the problem, in my opinion.

:( Click to report rating    4/8/08 1 1 1 Her office staff and manager are rude and completely unprofessional. After waiting months for an appointment, the week of my appointment they told me (when I called to check on the details) it was never booked. Trying to rebook left me with an upsetting conversation, an office manager who implied that they never booked it anyway and then hung up on me when I asked for an appointment within the next couple of weeks. No solution or explanation given for their mistake and the doctor sure did not offer to work me in.

:| Click to report rating    11/30/07 3 3 3 found her to be nice and friendly overall, but pushy and stubborn about doing things one way...not very accepting of natural or drug-free births. I felt very uncomfortable with her "philosophies", and after she told me I should have called her and gone straight to an ER when I had a UTI (instead of treating it myself - which I did successfully) I switched to mid-wife care. SO glad I switched!!!

:( Click to report rating    6/6/07 3 1 My birth with Dr. Esses was an absolute nightmare. She is pushy with induction, does very innacurate ultrasounds (she was over 2lbs off on weight estimate), and has awful/rude bedside manner. I also cannot count the number of other women I've met who have also had disturbing experiences. I am also willing to bet that her c-section rate is very high.

:) Click to report rating    3/29/07 3 2 Her nurse is extremely rude.In fact, her whole staff is extremely rude.I was hung up on twice.I heard the words "you're just going to have to get over it" twice also. They did NOT call my birth control in (on account of the excuse "it says here in your chart that we did"), and therefore I went 10 days without it.When I FINALLY got them to call it in, they said to me,"this is rediculous, we shouldn't have had to call it in more than once for you." Well, duh!If you would have done it the first time, I wouldn't have had to keep calling you for it! Needless to say, this resulted in ANOTHER hang up by her ever so polite (not)nurse. I WOULD NEVER IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT go back to see her.

:( Click to report rating    3/14/07 5 1 They overcharged me by $275.00 back in May 2006 and they still have yet to refund me the money (no being March of 2007!!!). They are very rude, hung up on me, rude to BCBS customer service, and never gave me straight answers. They first denied they owed me the money, lied that they checked to see if I met my deductible, and later admitted they did charge me too much when BCBS wrote them a formal letter. Please make sure you are getting charged the right fees and check with your insurance company also. They had tried to make two claims for $300.00 to BCBS even after I had paid my $300.00, so it looks like they were trying to to get twice the money. I WOULD NOT GO THERE EVER AGAIN. TERRIBLE STAFF!

:) Click to report rating    11/30/06 4 5 SHE IS VERY ATTENTIVE AND ANSWERS ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. I WOULDN'T USE ANY OTHER DOCTOR. USUALLY HAVE TO WAIT 15 MINUTES TO HALF HOUR TO GET IN BUT SHE IS WELL WORTH THE WAIT. SOMETIMES I HAVE A HARD TIME GETTING A PERSON TO ANSWER THE PHONE WHEN I CALL AND IT WILL JUST GOT STAIGHT TO RECORDING.
