:( Click to report rating    2/16/10 1 1 1 Luccy did filled my child's mouth with silver caps unnecessarily. Went to a second dentist with her x-rays to find out all the work was extreme and the "cavities" could be buffed out or filled minimally. When her first adult tooth started to come in behind her baby one, he wanted to pull 2 baby teeth and file the sides of the other ones to make room...needless to say they came into place with time and that would have been unnecessary as well. We were not allowed back with my child, he is ignorant to his staff, and mean to parents. We brush and floss our child's teeth daily and he made us feel like we were bad parents because she had "cavities". I've heard nothing but horror stories about him and would not take my dying dog to him. I regret the work my daughter had, but luckily it is only her baby teeth and the new dentist will take great care of her from now on. Use GREAT caution taking your child here!

:( Click to report rating    2/4/10 2 3 1 I absolutely detest this man. He is only one of two dentists under my insurance. I am most certainly going out of my way to find a different one. He is rude. Made me feel like a moron and a bad parent. Also, for my second visit, he had to reschedule me three times. He is and absolute jerk and the negative comments on here don't surprise me in the least. I have heard the way he talks to children and my daughter is petrified of him after only one visit. He also did not let me in the room with her. The comment about the boy with down syndrome having hand marks on his face is very disturbing to me and not surprising. If you love your children, DO NOT take them to this man!

:( Click to report rating    11/11/09 1 1 1 PLEASE READ THIS ONE!! Years back I took my son to Dr. Luccy. My son has Downs Syndrome. He did not allow me to come in room which was odd but I know we feel we should trust dr's. My mother in law was meeting me there. They had already taken my son in before she arrived. I could hear him screaming a hurt cry. My Mother-in-Law just happened to walk in and asked me who was screaming I said franticly My son and She busted open the door grabbed her grandson out of the chair went out the door. We put him in the car and Reallized he had. Red Hand prints on both cheeks they were squeezing his face. Please people even if you have to drive a few extra miles please consider another dentist. God Bless

:( Click to report rating    3/27/09 1 1 1 His girls are nice and that's about all. He kept looking at his watch. He did not seem real "there" like his mind was on something else.He told me i had to brush better and floss ya OK I'm going to try that with a 2 1/2 year old like I want bit trying to floss. His girl that cleaned his teeth was more attentive to my questions than he was. He acted like I was stupid. He made me feel like I was a bad parent. My child had no cavities, but he seemed obsessed with asking if he was still on the Brest or bottle. Also something about a Bill Cower chin I am not quite sure what that was about. Not to mention I waited 45 minutes past my appointed time to be brought back, then after the cleaning, another 35 minutes to see the Dr. so I wasted an extra 2hours out of my day.My time is very valuable and if you have time to wait and wait then that's fine but I do not. I will be seeking my child's cleanings elsewhere from now on.

:( Click to report rating *  3/5/09 1 1 1 I took my three children to Dr. Luccy nine years ago. He was on our list of in-network pediatric dentists, yet after two visits I opted to change dentists and take my children to an out-of-network pediatric dentist and pay the difference. During our first regular check-up, he was rushed and disinterested. The only positive was the great toys he offered afterward as a treat. My oldest son was set to have braces put on and needed teeth pulled. We returned. His experience was horrible. It took almost two hours of him sitting in a dental chair, no attention given to him except nurses telling him the doctor was busy. He had his two teeth extracted very harshly and even though he had his mouth numbed, was in excrusciating pain. He tried to tell him to stop, but Luccy persisted and ignored his tears (he was 10). He had to stitch his mouth because of the damage. We walked out and never returned...and found an exceptional dentist in Dr. Gjebre.

:( Click to report rating    9/23/08 1 1 1 My daughter has been scarred for life from Dr. Luccy. For all of you that gave him a 5 5 5 You need your heads examined. Apparantly you have no sympathy for your children or maybe they know you won't believe them anyway and therefore never told you what goes on behind those doors. Well heres the update not only from my child but from a nurse at the current dentist we see who used to work for Luccy. He treats your kids like dogs. He bounds them to a table depending on how much they squirm is how tight the straps are tightened. My daughter wanted me by her side and cried out for me to Luccy and he told her to stop crying. He proceeded to extract a tooth with the pain medicine almost all worn off(Luccy's nurse came out and told me this while I was in the waiting room saying she is flipping out back there but they had to finish). She came out to me and threw up. You call this a dentist I call it abuse. I also reported him to everyone possible.

:) Click to report rating    5/16/08 3 4 5 We took our son Micah to Dr. Luccy last week. He said we weren't allowed in the back because he was more likely to act up if we were there. Instead we monitored from the next room and we saw he was right... Micah wouldn't have been that good with my wife in the room.

:( Click to report rating    2/19/08 1 1 1 I took my daughter to this dentist and he wouldn't let me come in the room with her. I think that was very odd. How do we know what he is really up to when your not allowed in the room with your own child. He told me that my daughter's baby teeth needed to be pulled out and that my insurance wouldn't cover the 500.00 sedation fee. I got a second opinion and the dentist said that the baby teeth wouldn't need to be pulled at all. He was just trying to make money on me. Please do not take your child to this dentist. Take it into consideration to use another dentist if you know what is good for your child.

:( Click to report rating    2/12/08 3 2 1 After getting *2* second opinions, my son now has an appointment to get the work done that he needed- and it does NOT coincide with Dr. Luccy's treatment plan. I will not return to his office, in fact, we now see a dentist an hour away to avoid him. Its a shame, the girls in his office were so great.

:( Click to report rating    2/11/08 1 3 1 Dr. Luccy wanted to put my daughter to sleep to fill a cavity on her front tooth even though my daughter sits still at the dentist. I took her for a 2nd opinion and the dentist said it was just a rough spot on her tooth and filed it down with her awake. He was willing to put my child to sleep, risk her life for NOTHING! He also wanted to charge us $500 even though my insurance would have covered it! I have filed a complaint with the PA Health Dept. and I wish that everyone else who has a problem with him would do the same. Don't just complain on line, complain to the health dept. If enough of us do this maybe something can be done to put a stop to this over diagnosing problem he has. We need to step up before we read the paper one day to find out that a child died under his care because of greed. Everyone I mention his name to-they have a problem with him and say they would NEVER take their child to him. Please file a complaint. its easy, free and you can remain anonymous

:( Click to report rating    9/2/07 5 2 2 I took my children to Dr. Luccy becuase I was told he was good with children. Not with mine. My 1 1/2 year old had his 2 front teeth that the enamel was worn off of. Dr. Luccy wanted to pull them both with sedation. Insurance would not cover estimate was at least $500. My son had suffered from seizures then and there was no way I woud let him go through that. I had a second opinion and was told just keep brushing them and they will fall out eventually. The nurses restrained my sons so bad that they cried and refuse to go back there. AND I REFUSE TO TAKE THEM BACK THERE!

:) Click to report rating    4/30/07 5 5 Phenomenal ped dentist! Dr. Luccy was very knowledgeable concerning reasons for decay and helpful in developing a solution to limit further problems in my son (age 4). He corrected work that had been done at another dentist to improve the look of previous crowns and fillings and replaced/refinished veneers very nicely. Dr. Luccy also is very reachable. Before our first appointment he called our home, introduced himself and created a great patient/doctor relationship base. The office is also a great help. When my son's veneer facer from previous dental work at a different doctor fell out, they had me come into the office immediately for emergency work to be done. I would most highly recommend this ped dentist to anyone looking for an experienced, educated and dedicated child physician.

:) Click to report rating    4/30/07 5 5 I'm not sure what some of you are complaing about. I have been at his office 3 times now. And yes my son has a mouthful of silver too. My son's jaw is messed up and with Dr. Luccy's help he will be normal. I hated to see my son go through thoes doors without me and it hurt me so badly when he came out because of being put out. But I'd rather him be put out then to have to go through knowing he's getting shots and the time to do it. We would have had to come back many, many times. Today when they called us back to my son, they put him in my arms and the nurse said to him "see, I told you your mom would be here for you" and as they put him in my arms he looked up at me and smiled. I don't think that is the reaction of a child who had been abused. I may be the parent but I am not the Doctor. I may not understand what is going to happen but I do know that if I, myself acted like a child then I would expect to be treated like a child. I want the best for my kids. Dr. Luccy provides the best

:) Click to report rating    4/13/07 5 5 I have been taking my for children to Dr.luccy for the past 5 years. His office and him have been wonderful with my children.I can not believe some of these comments.I have a daugher age 8 with alot of dental problem.Dr.luccy did put silver caps on her teeth, but he also white fased them. He did a wonderful job and saved her teeth. My other three boys have had no problem at all with there teeth and there ages are 8,5,and 3.I think sometimes parents over react and want to hear what they want to hear and do what they want to do.

:) Click to report rating    4/12/07 5 4 My kids really liked Dr. Luccy and his staff -- very friendly and really thorough. I used to take them to my general dentist, but my sister recommended him instead.

:) Click to report rating    4/9/07 4 5 I'm really surprised by the comments here -- I've been taking my two sons to Dr. Luccy for 6 years now and have always been impressed by his thoroughness and care for children. My oldest son wrecked his bike a couple years back and as soon as he heard, Dr. Luccy met us at his office to get him fixed up -- on a Sunday night, no less. Both my kids have great smiles...no complaints here.

:) Click to report rating    4/6/07 3 5 Very helpful, wonderful staff, jokes with patients. Top in his field. My two children didn't need sedation but the one time we did it worked wonderfully. I am very satisfied with the care we recieved. Even though we waited a short time I realized that with kids you can't predict how they will act every time and Dr. Luccy let's them have what they need.

:( Click to report rating    3/23/07 1 1 I took my 2 sons to him last week. We waited over an hour to be seen. Dr. Luccy concluded (without x rays) that my 3 year old son needed all 8 of his molars crowned with stainless steel. He wanted to do 4 seperate procedures on him, with all including sedation even though he sits very still and doesn't move an inch. I took him to another dentist in the area for a second opinion, even though I had to pay out of pocket. The 2nd opinion is as follows: my son has ONE very small cavity that's just starting. Its so small and minor, he won't even need novicaine to fill it. Dr.Luccy's office also had a HUGE discerpancy reagarding my kids allergies, and tried to tell me they recieved a report from my pedictician, disregarding their allergy. When I asked to see it, they couldn't provide it to me. After a follow up call to our pediatrician, there was no such report to them, in fact they stated there WAS an allergy.

:( Click to report rating    3/17/07 1 1 I sat in the waiting room with my 3 kids for 1 1/2 hours. I was finally seen, and even tho the staff was nice, Dr. Luccy was really mean. He yelled at me and my kids in front of everyone. He was mean to his staff. He was very rough will all of my kids, even tho they were being really good. He tried to tell me each of my kids needs serious dental work and metal crowns even though our old dentist said they were fine at their last cleaning 6 months ago. I am taking them to a new dentist, and NEVER going back there.

:( Click to report rating    2/21/07 3 1 Dr Luccy also over sedated and over restrained my son. He has done 5!!! oral surgeries on my son, yelled at him and me, during the one visit he would not let my son swallow. He would not let me in the room. He flat out yelled and berated my son (mind you my son just turned 6) my son was also restrained so tight he developed a bruise on his forehead. My son is now scared to death of the dentist and he has a mouth full of silver caps, that apparently now are not needed and never were needed.

:) Click to report rating    12/8/06 5 5 Dr.Luccy is a wonderful pediatric dentist. My son has been seeing him for 11 years and my daughter for 8.I can't believe the ratings and comments that he has been given here.I am in shock.Dr.Luccy only uses sedation when necessary. It is very hard to make some children sit still to do work on them.My son has had very significant dental problems. He did have a mouth full of silver caps. His problems were clear to see wiyh the naked eye as well as in x-rays.My daughter has needed no work.If you are going to his office to have work done, yoo will see kids with caps in their moths because he does specific work on specific days.He has been great with both of my children.I look foward to using his service for many years to come!

:( Click to report rating    9/20/06 3 2 Every child in his waiting room has a mouth full of silver caps. I took my daughter to him twice...the first time he seemed very nice, that changed by the second visit. He sedated my daughter and capped a couple of teeth; the nurse carried my daughter out and she was so out of it she couldn't move. He said she squirmed too much in the chair and I'd have to bring her back to finish the job. Needless to say that was the last of him...He's a royal jerk

:( Click to report rating    8/25/06 1 1 Dr. Luccy Restrained my child, threw me out of the office because I wanted to be near my child, embarressed me by loudly verbally confronting me, told the nurses to "get him out of here, he's done",(speaking of my son), mind you my son then became scared because he was sedated and didnt know what was going on. So basically he sedated my son for a checkup only, got irate because I wanted to be near my baby, and so on and so on and so on. Oh by the way he is a pediatric dentist only:( :( :(
