I saw Dr. Mehta right after sustaining a muscle injury in the gym. He was convinced that I injured my shoulder (when in fact I found our=t later that I tore my pectoralis major muscle). I pointed to the balled up muscle in my chest area. He dismissed that. He did NOT prescribe a scan to validate his diagnosis. He did NOT refer me to a specialist. He told me to wear a sling, follow a rehabilitation regimen and see him in a month (big mistake). I saw him a month later. My pain was gone and I had my full range of motion restored. He high-fived me and indicated that I'm in good shape. I pointed again to the balled-up muscle in my chest area. He dismissed in again as inflammation. A month after that I wend to see another general practitioner because it just didn't feel right. He immediately thought I ruptured my pectoral muscle and gave me a referal to see an orthopedist. The orthopedist told me that because I waited too long, a simple repair to my pectoral muscle will no longer be possible, and a more complicated and less effective surgery was the only option.

I started seeing him when he was new to the practice. Very friendly, understanding, funny and willing to help. Personally calls his patients to check on them. I have never had a pcp like him

Dr. Mahte is one of the worse doctor that I have ever dealt with. My doctor moved and Dr. Mahte was his replacement. I wanted to go over all my meds and make sure that they were correct. He got stuck on one drug, refused to continue with my list of drugs. Would not listen to my lungs. I have asthma. He had me shaking like a leaf by the time I left his examing room, because no matter what I said, he said I'm not giving you that drug. I kept saying that was fine. I told him that I had talked to the pain clinic and they would handle it. He was very arrogent and a discrace as a doctor. Never, ever will I return!!
