The staff is always helpful and willing to answer my questions. They always know the answers to my questions and they are patient and kind.

I loved the fact, that I understood everything that would be happening, good or bad. They also just don't just give the surgery, they make sure you understand. I have heard of others where their doctor don't take that time to help. They always answer questions and don't make you feel like the questions are worth their time.

I had gastric by-pass surgery in April 2007, I have lost 96 lbs. Dr Kim has been instrumental in helping me change my life for the better. My experience with Dr Kim and his staff was above and beyond my expectations. I would rate him as one of the best, not only in his knowledge and experience, but in his ability to make people w/issues of obesity, feel cared about, and important. His care does not stop after surgery, I am two years out and I just saw him yesterday for my 2 yr check up, he spent 45 min with me talking about my health, my success, and my challenges, he encouraged me to continue in my success and made sure my questions were answered completely! His staff is extremely caring, supportive and I have never had to wait 45 min or an hour to see the doctor! They handled everything, from my insurance filing to the simplest questions, they drove my ship every step of the way, returned my calls and made the entire process easy. I highly recommend Dr. Kim and staff!!!

Dr. Kim (and staff) are so caring and verhelpful. Dr. Kim TRULY cares ab out his patients and wants them to be sucessful. I have recommended Dr. Kim to lots of people and will continue to do so. Dr. Kim changed my life. Only a year out I have lost 110 pounds from my gatric bypass surgery. Dr. Kim and his staff have been ther to support me all the way!

Dr. Kim has been my doctor for about 4 years. He put in my lap band. I cannot say enough good things about him! He is a very compassionate and caring doctor who truly understands what we, as obese people, go thru on a daily basis and has a desire to help us overcome this horrible disease. He is an excellent surgeon who I would recommend to anyone without reservation. He has operated on me twice, on my father, my brother-in-law and a dear friend. My sister hopes to have surgery as well as soon as her insurance approves her. You can find more reviews about Dr. Kim on the “Obesity Help” website under the “find a physician” tab. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Kim!!

For 4 years I have been deeply dissatisfied with Dr. Kim. but Have stayed with him because I was desperate to loose weight before it killed me.4 years ago I had lapband surgery. For 2 years now I have told Dr. Kim something was wrong with my band and he blew me off.He said it was my fault for gaining the weight back that I had lost.After sending me to his fiancial loan people to see about another 15,000.00 Gastric sleeve operation,The girl in his office wanted me checked to see if my band had slipped and it had. which means the weight gain was not my fault.He had me jump through hoops to get blood test and see my cardiologist.In 2 weeks stop smoking and buy 200.00 worth of optifast.My cardiologist said I was a moderate risk for complications Dr kim had me come to his office Then he removed my lap band fill ,Then he told me he would no longer treat me, and I still have the band in.I would not recommend him to anyone.He is clearly abusing his position

this doctor is terrible, I had surgery twice with him before i found out how bad. The man is great as long as you respond normally and with out trouble as i did after having my gall blader taken out. However if you have problems like i did and still am afer lap band he is rude unhelpful and dangerous in my opinion after visiting his office several times to reoport the same problems his pa told me well some people just have problems and offered no help or solution. Even needing care urgently i will wait until i find a new office with a doctor who cares and will work with me to fix the problem. I have found Dr. Kim to have something of a i know all and if i am wrong it is you fault kind of attitude. Oh and i believe i saw dr kim once before surgery and for a moment after but never since it might help if he cared to see the patients but that is left to staff only no need to have an md just to see people i guess

I had two visits with Dr. Kim re: weight loss surgery. On the 2nd visit, I found out when I got to the office that Dr. Kim was refusing to do the surgery because of my cardiac risk. However, no one in the office had bothered to notify me and they had simply deleted my records which i discovered when I arrived for my 2nd visit. Dr. Kim refused to discuss the matter with my cardiologist, who was the one who referred me. Office staff was very rude.

Dr. Kim and his staff are fantastic. He takes a personal interest in each of his patients, and takes the time to answer questions before their surgery. My experience with him has been great--he has one of the best bed-side manners I've ever seen in a physician. There's a reason why he was named a Surgeon of Excellence by the American Society for Bariatric Surgery, and a Physician of the Year by his hospital. I wish all doctors were as good as him.

Dr. David Kim has a great disposition as long as you don't have any complications. His "God Complex" attitude is a turn-off. He is a good surgeon but needs to work on his bedside manner. Another turn-off is that he doesn't see any new patients until two weeks before surgery. This can create havoc when one has to jump through hoops for insurance purposes and for some reason he decides not to perform your surgery. He should see potential patients first, then the coordinator should take over as far as preparation, insurance requirements, etc; His office help (coordinators) are spred pretty thin and can't really keep up with the high demand. They can't respond to patients problems or questions in a timely manner. Patients are treated like a herd of cattle. Hurry up and get them through regardless, then on to the next one. That is why their support group is so necessary otherwise they forget about you. Not much patient followup.

Dr. Kim was very caring and very very knowledgeable about my surgery. His staff is the best also. I would recommend him to anyone looking for a general surgeon or a bariatric surgeon.
