What else would you do though if that dead end occupation was your job though? It can taint the experience, I agree with the previous poster. | Respond |

Dr. Schulman is a superb physician and a great human being. I love him. However, I also cannot stand his staff. The medical assistants are ok but the office staff is nasty, argumentative and obnoxious. It taints the entire experience. It's clear that they don't respect Dr. Schulman enough to treat his patients with dignity. My blood pressure rises every time I'm in the waiting room and then he has to apologize for them. If I was really sick and in the hospital, I wouldn't want anyone else but now have a second doctor for routine matters so I can avoid his staff as much as possible.

Excellent physician. I have used him for over 25 years - first as my family doctor, then as gastroenterologist for routine colonoscopies. Excellent, highly professional practice - however, as noted in other comments on this site, the office staff is often rude and impatient, and very difficult to deal with. They close early (4 PM most days, 3 PM on Fridays). If you call five minutes before closing time, they will most likely pick up the phone and hang it up without saying a word.

Wow, where do I begin. I have seeing Dr. Schulman for over 25 years. I suffer with a very severe intestinal illness as does my two adult kids. I think the best way to sum Dr. Schulman up is when you are home sick and you are waiting for him to call you back when the phone rings and that cheerful " how you doing it's Dr. Schulman" you know that relief is on the way as he makes you feel so secure. And as you get ready to leave his office the HUG that he gives you immediately makes you feel that things will be better. If only more doctors were like him , how much better our medical system would be. But Dr. Schulman is also brilliant. He is so well read that no topic that I may research regarding my disease does he not know all about a study, an experimental medication or for that matter anything in medicine . He is warm, knowledgable and above all one of the nicest people that I have ever met. GET SCREENED FOR COLON CANCER

5/18/09 | 4 | 4 | 5 | 5 | I have been a patient of Dr. Schulman's for 23 years. He is a most kind, compassionate, intelligent human being. He is never rushed for time. You can ask your questions and know he is really concerned about you. When I leave his office, and he tells me "You're fine", I believe it. He has never been wrong about anything. I am truly grateful to know such a dedicated, intelligent doctor. Hats off to Dr. Nathan Schulman for all the good work he does every day. | Respond |

Dr. Schulman is warm, friendly, kind and most important super intelligent (not only in his own field, but in all areas of medicine. He has helped me with other issues by raising concerns and speaking to my other doctors. I can't speak highly enough for Dr. Schulman. You will never find another doctor like him. He makes you feel like you're his only patient (and that's a special gift he has). I could never imagine seeing anyone else for my gastro problems. Rosemary Urbano

3/10/09 | 1 | 4 | 5 | 5 | Dr. Schulman is the absolutely most wonderful doctor. He takes time while speaking with you, always eases your fears. In this day and age of "drive by medical care," Dr. Schulman is the ultimate compassionate doctor. He performed an endoscopy on me and when he entered the room he brought on a sense of comfort. The other phsicians in the practice are wonderful as well. | Respond |

I think he is a wonderful doctor and an even better person. He makes you feel so comfortable with his easy style and great humor. I moved to Florida 2 1/2 years ago, and I have been unable to find a doctor that even comes close to him. I'm so glad that I'm moving back to NY and will be able to once again see him regularly. His secretary, however, tends to be quite nasty on the phone, and I think it may be time to replace this woman. Otherwise, this is the ONLY place I will go to in the future. He's been my doctor since 1988.

I can't say enough about this wonderful man. Supportive, open-minded, caring, and knowledgeable--along with a good sense of humor. He has been my doctor for 13+ years now, and I have nothing but wonderful things to say about him. Because he is so popular, it can take a long time to get an appointment with him--but he is well worth the wait.
