Dr. Nicholas Boulis is an amazing surgeon. In January of 2013, I was diagnosed with Trigeminal Neuralgia, a severe nerve disorder. My life consisted of hospital stays, heavy medication, and liquid diets. During our first consult, Dr. Boulis was very direct and informative, giving me several options outside of surgery. In August of 2013, I decided to move forward with the Microvascular Decompression surgery and could not be happier! Dr. Boulis helped give me my life back! I am no longer on medication and can enjoy food, my family, and my life again.
My wife has had very painful Trigeminal Neuralgia for ten years. The level of the Tegretol she was taking to treat the condition had increased more than five-fold. The Tegretol made her nauseous and she was sick quite a fraction of the time in the last year. We searched for the best surgeon to perform Microvascular Decompression and it was obvious that Dr. Boulis would be our choice. He performed the surgery on May 21, 2014 with spectacular results. My wife's facial pain is completely gone. Placing the pad between the Trigeminal nerve and the artery was very successful. Her recovery went very well after two days of some pain and nausea. She has her life back! We will be forever grateful for Dr. Boulis skill and care and the superb Emory Clinic.
Dr. Boulis is a wonderful caring informative Neruo-Surgeon that has given me relief from my 13 years of Occipital Neuralgia which had totally taken over every moment of my life. Dr. Boulis implanted a neurotransmitter into the back of my head in December 2013. For two months now I have been getting relief from this debilitating burning in occipital area. I have had all types of meds and therapy, shots ect. to which no comfort could be obtained until this surgery. Thank you again Dr. Boulis for this life changing relief!!!!
Dr. Boulis has been my Neurosurgeon for several years now and has performed many surgeries for me in dealing with my Chiari malformation, Syringomyelia and Intracranial Hypertension. I absolutely love Dr. Boulis. He always makes me feel that he is there for me all the way and we will figure this out. I hear horror stories of how some docs can be and how unpleasant their personality is.....I'm always so thankful I have been blessed enough to find this great Dr. at a great hospital that has saved my life, making it much more livable. I trust him a 1000% and know he is always going to do his best to make me well and fix what's broken when time after time I hear how complicated my case is. He IS the best neurosurgeon period. Thanks a billion. Love, your favorite patient, J. Ulrich
Dr Boulis did a terrific job explaining the procedure and answered all of our questions(bilateral DBS). The result was excellent and the follow up procedure for battery replacement was also handled with great success. The entire Emory team has been fully supportive and accommodating.
I have Trigeminal Neuraglia and Dr. Boulis performed surgery that stopped the pain! He and his staff are professionals who explain the pros & cons of each step! I am so thankful to them and the wonderful experience of being his patient
I have suffered from trigeminal neuralgia for 20+ years. On 5/23/12, Dr. Boulis performed a procedure to stop the pain. I have had no pain to this day. Dr. Boulis is the best neurosurgeon I have ever known. He took ample time to explain treatment options to us and to answer all our questions. I understand he is very busy and the wait was well worth it. I would recommend him to anyone with this or other neurological problems. BCC
Dr Boulis, his staff, his associate nueurologislists, along with the excellent facilities and staff at Emory Hospital made my "DBS" surgery a breeze. I can honestly say that this man and the people at his side saved my life from the dreaded Parkinson's disease. There is no way I could ever describe in words how I feel about Dr. Boulis and all his associates. I will continue to spread the word about him and the other fine doctors and staff at Emory. Dr.Boulis did bilateral neurostimulator surgery 4 years ago. This treatment for Paarkinsons disease was just going mainstream and I and my family had questions. All were answered directly and clearly by the doctor. The surgery was a resounding success turning my life around. The Emory team was wonderful. From admission to billing the well organized Emory staff worked together to assure my care waas top notch. During surgery you are awake and Dr. Boulis was able to put me at ease while locating the stimulators in my brain. Overall ***** experience
