28/04/14 2 1 2 2 This guy has minimal respect for his clients (patients). More arrogant than the usual dentist. Had six appointments with him. He ranges in lateness from 30 to 90 minutes each time with no apology whatsoever.  Respond

17/10/13 4 4 1 2 It's been some time now, and I am still disgusted when I think of our experience following wisdom extractions Seriously run the other way, most people shop for a dentist according to proximity, do your home work!! I learned an awful lot the hard way, at my son's expense, my son was over sedated by Dr. Johnson I questioned if he was even qualified to administer? My son had problems, started to bleed in the night despite attempts to manage it at home, I decided to call the 24 hour # which was initially not answered, I later found out Dr. Johnson doesn't even live in the province, was he really going to be a help?? We spent 5 hours in the ER. I can't put our experience into words, We were ready to change our dentist because I couldn't believe she would refer us to Dr.Johnson. I could go on and on....think first before sending someone you love.  Respond

01/10/13 5 5 5 5 I took both my kids to see Dr. Johnson when they had to get wisdom/molar teeth pulled. I have been to both the Greenbank and Smyth offices. The staff are wonderful in both places. Dr. Johnson is quick, efficient, and explains the procedure fully. Both appointments I was told a time frame, and both times he was finished in well under what he told me. His office called the house after the appointments to make sure the kids (16 and 19 year olds) were OK. Dental Surgery is not pleasant, but I would go to Dr. Dexter Johnson for my oral care.  Respond

22/05/13 5 4 5 5 I was very happy with Dr. Dexter Johnson's work. I visited his office after being referred to him by my own dentist. I was able to book my surgery within days after seeing Dr. Johnson for a consultation. I was very nervous about being sedated for the procedure and his nurse was very helpful in making me feel comfortable. She explained to me everything that would take place, and she took the time to answer all of my questions. I took pictures of my mouth after I got home, and you can tell that this doctor knows what he is doing. The stitches are clean with the ends pointing in the right directions, not towards your tongue. Very happy. I would definitely see him again for any complicated procedures.  Respond

11/05/13 5 5 5 5 A big shout out to this clinic from the moment I walked in to the time I was discharged everyone made sure my comfort was a priority. The nurse explained everything that was going to happen before I signed any consent form. I recommend this office to anyone.  Respond

04/03/13 2 4 1 1 I went here to get my wisdom teeth out. The staff are not helpful, nobody at this clinic has any bedside manners. The nurse started my IV with no gloves! The dentist (Dr. Johnson) did not introduce himself, they just started to give me the IV drugs. I had to be very forceful in answering my questions (they saw it as an annoyance). Don't go here!  Respond

06/09/12 5 4 5 5 Two of my children have had dental extractions at the Smyth Road office and we found the experience to be excellent. Dr. J and his staff have great bedside manner and are very knowledgeable and caring. I would definitely recommend him and would go back if anyone in the family requires oral surgery in the future.  Respond

24/08/11 1 1 1 1 He charged $150 for a plain consultation which other Surgeon charged only $70, $400 for per teeth extraction, and four teeth cost about $1600+, general anesthesia cost another $400. I got quote from other surgeon was about half price. However, I thought we get what we paid for, but seems not all the time. I'm suffering chronic pain after extraction for a very long period of time.
Paid (or co-pay): $2100

29/07/11 3 1 2 2 I had to wait 1 hour and 15 minutes for my consultation. After asking the receptionist where Dr. Johnson was, they informed me that he was in the middle of a surgery. 1.25hours and no explanation from any of the staff that my wait would be much longer than expected. In addition, he felt that the extraction of all 4 of my wisdom teeth was necessary, even though I had no pain and he had not seen my x-rays. I was not impressed with my visits and did not get my extractions done with him. I'll be seeing another oral surgeon.
Paid (or co-pay): $140

24/02/11 5 5 5 5 My son had his 3 wisdom teeth removed in January with only 5 days' notice, which is amazing as I did not have a referral and just used the yellow pages. My son had no problems afterwards with the exception of the normal pain that follows extractions. Dr. Johnson was professional, caring and knowledgeable. His staff gave us detailed instructions for care afterwards and we were told to call if anything felt wrong. We also received a follow-up call the next day to make sure everything was OK. Would recommend Dr. Johnson to everyone needing wisdom teeth removed. excellent!  Respond

04/02/11 4 5 4 4 Was sent to Dr Johnson by my dentist, to remove a tooth that had a root canal that was getting repeat infections 20 years later (they don't last forever). Expect the typical surgeon bedside manner, they tend to focus on the task not chit-chat and pleasantries. Was polite professional and performed the procedure rather quickly even though the tooth had broken in a few pieces. Good at post-care instructions, no complications. I hope to never go through the experience but if I had to, I would have no worries about going to Dr Johnson again.  Respond

14/11/10 3 2 2 1 I was very disappointed with my experience. I had my wisdom teeth out, and had nothing but problems afterwards. He has a very rough bedside manner. Look elsewhere would be my advice.  Respond
