In this era of sub-specialization, I believe the best patient care is provided by seeking out a specialist that has extensive expertise in a certain area of orthopedic surgery. In my case, that is advanced open and arthroscopic reconstructive surgery of the knee and shoulder, and in particular, my special areas of interest and expertise are in patellofemoral disorders, cartilage restoration procedures of the knee and shoulder, multi-ligament injuries of the knee, pectoralis major ruptures, and resurfacing procedures of the knee and shoulder. \r\n\r\nI am considered a worldwide expert on the treatment of patellofemoral disorders, having published techniques on reconstructive patellofemoral surgeries, as well as a member of the International Patellofemoral Study Group and the Patellofemoral Foundation. As a Master Instructor for the AAOS and AANA for reconstructive procedures of the shoulder, I have a special expertise and interest in shoulder arthroplasty, including total and reverse shoulder arthroplasty, and the management of fractures around the shoulder girdle. I have the largest clinical case series of repair of acute and chronic pectorals major ruptures in the world, having developed a special technique for ruptures up to many years old.\r\n\r\nA prolific author, I have over 100 publications in several journals, including the Journal of Arthroscopy, the American Journal of Sports Medicine Clinical Orthopedics and Related Research, Techniques in Knee Surgery, the, and the Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery. He put a plate on my tibia and turned an 8 degree varus deformity into a 10 degree Valgus deformity. I am 53 now and can barely walk any more , I now need an ankle fusion. Next time Doc look at the knee joint as well as the ankle when alaigning a fracture, you needed to bend the plate a bit more than you did.
