2/10/13 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I had rhinoplasty and genioplasty done 10 days ago with Dr. Smith and his team and I am THRILLED. Everything I expected without totally changing my face. I am an older woman and know that older skin can also be harder to reshape. It is fabulous! I found him to be a very caring and approachable man and so far am very pleased with his work. (I still have a bit of swelling and stuffiness but that is expected). He and his nurses were very upfront about all I could expect. All my questions and fears were answered and always I was treated very kindly. I have terrible anxiety around anesthetic but the anesthesiologist put those to rest pretty quickly. I will recommend Dr Smith and his team! | Respond |

1/15/13 | 5 | 5 | 1 | 1 | Nightmare experience with this man. First BA left me deformed. I found him to be careless, with horrible beside manner. He was blatently arrogant and charged me further surgeon's fees to correct his shotty work! For my second surgery to correct my deformity, I felt I had no choice but to see him, as I would have to pay full fees to see another surgeon. I feel I was taken advantage of for being young and naive. The second surgery left me with unplanned debt, and hurt my self esteem. I still feel anger for the experience I had with him. I hope that any young ladies considering a BA with DR. Smith read this, and go to a different surgeon. Please learn from my horrible experience :( | Respond |

I always feel like I'm the most important person they are seeing that day and they couldn't possibly be more accommodating. I had breast implants removed, a lift and some small repairs to scars from a previous surgery. The work he performed is outstanding. I interviewed 3 other plastic surgeons before deciding on Dr. Smith and I'm sure I made the right choice. The work was expensive but I believe I received every penny's worth. | Respond |

My breast lift looks so good, I contemplated just keeping my lift. He's very professional, and goes through all the in and outs of surgery and the outcomes. He even has a machine that 3D's your whole body to show you the outcomes of your breasts. I swear by him, and would go to him for anything cosmetic! he's a life saver!! | Respond |

7/17/11 | 5 | 5 | 5 | 5 | I had a breast lift done in Oct 2010,the day after I had it done I sobbed and thought what have I done,but after the swelling has gone and healing complete, I can honestly say I have never had such amazing breast!!!! even when I was a teenager. Doctor Smith is a breast artist, and will see him soon for a tuumy tuck..I can not wait!! I do not understand the couple of negative comments here, and I certainly dont believe them..Dr Smith is very professional and would also never perform anything he didn't think you needed (just for money) | Respond |

He did not try to rush me into surgery, infact we discussed several options over the course of a year to obtain the best results including; a weight loss plan and two seperate surgeries (without gauging me financially). I am so impressed with his suggestions, I will be returning to his office this fall for another set of measurments and to schedule in my proceedures. I found his office staff to be pleasant and informative and look forward to a return visit. | Respond |

Both Dr. Smith and his staff gave me the impression that unless there was profit to be made in subsequent visits that I was not very important as a customer. At no time did Dr. Smith take responsibility for the problems I have although he does agree that another surgery (which I am responsible for paying for) might alleviate some of the problems. I have seen hundreds of before/after pics of BA's on the net and I can honestly say that I like my results way better than any of the pictures I had saved! 10/19/10 | 3 | 3 | 1 | 1 | Hope his skills have improved since I saw him about 15 years ago. He performed a dermabrasion, and in my opinion made an absolute mess of it. Twice before I had this procedure done by other doctors who did it in 2 sessions, the first being to excise and stitch the deep cyst scars, the second to do the actual dermabrasion after the stitches were removed. This clown did both together, so as the skin started to heal it grew over the stitches! Very painful to have removed! I ended up with an infection at the site (a huge boil) and the dermabrasion itself was too aggressive . I went to see a lawyer but was told that these doctors have an army of expensive lawyers to back them up and it wouldn't be worth my while pursuing legal action. He said he would have had to really disfigure my face in order to sue. Just as a foot note, when I went to see my dermatologist afterwards he said "did he(Smith) explain what went wrong?" 7/15/10 | 3 | 5 | 5 | 5 | Upper Eyelid Blepharoplasty day 11. good results. more swelling/bruising one side than other. ken is great. gary, anethesiologis, great. nurses need to be less brusque, more caring, treat you as an individual and give more detailed pre and post op instructions. also take better care of patient post op in recovery. ken is honest and doesn't try to push surgeries you don't need. lots of integrity but i don't think he manages the nurses or how they provide their care. | Respond |

4/7/10 | 5 | 3 | 4 | 5 | i just had my consult with dr.smith a couple weeks ago and ended up booking my surgery right after,(breast aug) he was awesome, listened to all my concerns and was very uplifting and settled my nerves right away, made me feel very comfortable, i asked about lipo in the consult to and he kindly said he would not do it on me as he thought i didnt need it, so that tells me hes not just cash hungry like alot of surgeons out there, im very excited for may 20th to get my surgery. ps:his clinic is absolutly beautiful and all his operation equipment is brand new | Respond |

I'm having an explant (breast implant removal) surgery after 3.5 years of having them and he was so unbelievably caring and supportive. He also suggest for me to NOT have a lift right away; that I should wait a year and then decide. Also, his staff (namely Lisa) was the only one in Victoria that would listen to my true concerns and really be a help to me. I think all the BAD comments on here bunk...I cannot see this man the way they have described him. I haven't had my surgery yet, but I will post another review when it's done. | See Responses |

I had my BA December 2009..My original procedures were a BA and a Donut Mastopexy(minor lift) I found Dr.Smith to be professional,extremely knowledgeable and comforting at my consultation. His staff were amazing and caring the day of my surgery and followed up on me regularly after wards. What completely sold me on recommending Dr.Smith and his staff to my friends and loved ones was his honesty..after my implants were put in and filled it turned out I didn't need the Mastopexy..I woke up in recovery and was given a cheque for $3000..a full refund...honesty and sincerity are something I respect..and I don't know many others who would have been so honest...My breasts are exactly the size and shape I wanted...they are beautiful...recovery was a breeze and I would recommend Dr. Smith and his staff 100 times over..thank you Dr. Smith..I now feel complete :)

12/14/09 | 1 | 2 | 1 | 2 | I had plastic surgery in May 2007 to remove skin and fat from my abdomen after losing a lot of weight. I agree that this doctor is completely uncaring. When I was visibly upset just prior to surgery all he could say was "are we doing this or what". At my follow up a few days later, he told me to stop moving "and that he had an office people so stop complaining" (about the pain). I never went back. Also, his staff sent me info on breast reduction in error twice in the mail confusing my surgery. That can't be good. When going through surgery one would hope the doctor would have minimal empathy at least. | Respond |

I told him what I wanted and he did exactly that:) I am so happy with my results, he really did a wonderful job. The staff are great! He is a real nice, caring doctor that knows his stuff. I am looking to have a breast lift and reluctant to have implants, but will if needed. Dr. Smith was the only DR. that told me to do a 2 step approach, first the lift and wait to see the result and the size. If after healing and swelling goes down I'm not happy, we will talk about implants. I was very happy to have this option-at no extra cost in a 2 step vs. 1 step. He was the only one with this approach. I found him to be very aware of my concerns and really took his time to talk me through ALL of my concerns. -I was shocked to read a couple of negative reviews? He was not pompous at all.(Said in a previous comment) I ended up with a bigger scar than we had discussed, didn't know it would be that way, but I believe he works magic. He had a tough time with what I had and I know it will fade in time. I am delighted with ALL his staff as well. They are the most helpful bunch I have ever come across in a doctor type setting. I actually called twice as I decided to have two surgeries done on the same day and needed to know if this was possible. I then made my appointment for the actual surgery. My consultation went over smoothly with Dr. Smith. He knew exactly how I invisioned my nose to look and how my brests needed changing (they were two different sizes.) He advised me that without a doughnut mastopexy my breast augmentation would not look very natural, so I went with what he thought was best. We reviewed pictures together and described how my rhinoplasty would happen and what kind of improvements I was looking for. Had my 4 month post up last week. Girls again, very helpful in the office. Both Dr. Smith and I are very pleased with my results. Go in for a one year post op for my rhinoplasty. Best decision I've ever made in my life. I was by far a difficult case...Dr. Smith worked Magic...He informed me of all the possibilities in the outcome of my surgery and was willing to answer all of the concerns I had regarding long term complications. The only slight difficulty I had was with the front office staff and trying to book follow up appointments. After every visit I would go to the front to arrange my next appointment...6 m checks...revision surgery...etc. When I would ask to book I would be told that they did not have their schedule and I should call back in such and such time...so I would wait the alloted months and call when they told me to only to be told that "Dr. Smith is booking three months ahead and I should have called months ago"...this happened to me twice...which was kind of aggrivating...I hope it doesn't happen regularly and I think it may change when Dr. Smith's new office/surgical centre opens. | Respond |

Had breast augmentation done with Dr. Smith. I thought he was terrific. Very positive, very knowledgable, totally knows his stiff, He helped me chose what size I should go, and I am totally happy with it. The surgery itself was a walk in the park, almost no pain, almost no scaring. I couldn't be happier. :)

Yes he is pompus but I would not care if he was a good doctor. He was very rushed once I was there for surgery. He told me I would look great and was very positive but sadly I do not look great the those positive results he spoke of are just not there. I look worse. Go to someone else if you want my advice this guy is there to make money and he cares of little else. I am glad I finally have someone to tell this to as you really feel like your hands are tied if your surgery does not turn out well. He will make you feel like i is your fault. But he will string you along first just to make you think he can make it all look better. I have done to a better surgeon since then. What can I tell you think twice. .

I had Dr. Smith do a breast implant replacement. Sadly, I found him pompous and very difficult to relate to if I brought up serious pain issues. I was told I was too emotional even though other doctors since have said you should return to him as this is not normal. I am afraid to return to Dr. Smith as feel I would just be put down again. It feels to me that if you aren't totally happy with the results it's all your own fault. After the surgery he was rushed and not very friendly when he very quickly checked in on me. I realize I have a serious problem with one of my breasts, but will be seeking out another opinion of a highly respected plastic surgeon in the area.
