Dr. Ayaz is a rare breed these days. She'll actually sit with you and listen too all of your complaints. She has a very powerful and broad working knowledge of all sorts of medicine. She won't put you on unnecessary meds, but doesn't hesitate to give you pharmaceuticals that would help your condition. She's good about referring you to specialists when you have a condition that's beyond her sphere of operation and has a network of similarly knowledgeable professionals at her fingertips. I went to her for a few years after my insurance changed from Group Health to BC/BS and I was very happy with her. Now that I'm in another state I'm really starting to appreciate how lucky I was to always have such great internists in MN!

I really like Dr. Ayaz. She is a great communicator, goes the extra mile and is very knowledgeable. For example, recently I had a persistent cough that wouldn't go away. I read read how this could be a sign of lung cancer, allergies, asthma, etc. I also know that many doctors don't give chest x-rays for women who have a persistant cough and no medical history of smoking, but this can be fatel if the cough is an indication of something serious. At my appointment Dr. Ayaz concluded that my cough was most likely a "hangover" from a cold I had a few months earlier (she said this much more eloquently), and said she'd still like to have my chest x-rayed just to be safe. I was glad she took that proactive step. She also gave me a perscription for an inhaler and walked me though how to use it. I also recieved a follow up phone call from her nurse to see how it was working and how I was feeling. The x-rays were completely clear, and the treatment worked.
A very nice doctor and knows alot. She always tells you the best specialists to go to. One thing that is wrong is she goes on vacation quite a bit and I hope she doesn't retire any time soon.
