I agree completely with those who said this Dr. is not one to be recommended. He does overbook and the wait time both in the waiting room and in the exam room is disgraceful. His time with me was about 5 minutes, he'd be better off reversing things, a five minute wait and an hour of his time. His staff is as brusque as he is. I was told rather hautily that they didn't accept HMO Blue Cross/Blue Shield. I went to him because I saw his ad in the newspaper where he pushed his credentials. I had a two step process done for a basel cell carcinoma leaving a lumpy jagged scar on my arm that is not healing well. During the surgery he gabbed with his assisting nurse about ipods and I felt like I was being impolite to interupt their chat with a medical question about what he was doing on my arm. I'll be returning to my original Dr. in NY, though I'd hoped to find someone just as good locally.

This doctor was horrible. He rushed me out so quickly as if I was infected with some serious contagious disease (I wanted to get his opinion and treatment for adult acne). Spoke to me for less than a minute, didn't let me ask any question, and I felt like I wasted my money!!! I promised I'd never see him again.

We (3 of us) had visits with Dr.K this week. We waited about 35 minutes in a room PACKED with patients. (I got the last seat!) Surprisingly, the visit went smoothly. We did not feel rushed, the office staff was nice and the Dr. was professional. We feel he definitely is a very experienced and competent Dr. We made appts to return for some medical procedures.

Don't waste your time going to this Doctor. Had MOHs surgery on forehead and he only had to go in one time. Scar is big and uneven. Find another Doctor.

I was referred to Dr Kolansky by my primary care physician. Prior to my appointment, I made the mistake of “google”ing him and found bad reviews. It’s a patient’s duty to be just as prepared as the Dr prior to the visit. The Dr is brisk, but if he weren’t, he wouldn’t have time to see you. I arrived at the office 20 minutes prior to my appointment to fill out paperwork. The front desk was efficient and attentive. I was called into the examining room on time, where I spoke with Laura, the Dr’s nurse for approx 5 minutes. During that time, I explained why I was referred and asked if it would be possible for him to look at other areas that worried me. She was EXTREMELY friendly and answered all of my questions. The Dr was VERY nice. Laura informed him of my concerns. He biopsied 4 moles for me and told me my options in case other slight skin flaws bothered me (although they don't bother me, I appreciated being informed of my options). The entire experience far exceeded my expectations!

The doctor is very overbooked. He rushes you out of the exam room. He acts nice to you and then yells at his staff. I overheard him talking about the "positive" biopsies and how as long as people get skin cancers, his staff will have jobs. I had to have a cyst removed and there was a huge scar left on my face. When I went back to address the scar, he said that I could get laser surgery and I would have to PAY for it. He also spent a lot of time trying to sell me cosmetic procedures, and when I declined, he became less interested in my concerns. I think he is a very greedy person. His staff was wonderful and I thought they were very kind and helpful to me and all the others patients in the office the same day as me. I do not recommend him to future patients

I've been to dr. kolansky over the last few years. He treated my squamous cell appropriately but did not give a thorough full body check afterwards. He rushed me out of the exam room and I'm still worried about a few other moles that I have and that he didn't even look at. His front office staff are very difficult to talk to and he is over-booked - I've waited for hours in his waiting room. The nurses/practitioners, however, are very helpful. I'm trying to find a dermatologist to give me a more thorough body check, especially since I've already had cancer once.

I've seen Dr. Kolansky three times and had the same impression each time. He typically has a 3 week wait to get an appointment (even for something serious). You can get a sonner appointment if you keep calling back looking for a cancellation. The wait time in his officer is always over one hour. His was always very brief with me. I point him to my problem and he fixes it quickly and leaves quickly. I have only gone to him for minor issues (mole or melenoma removal) and he provided very competant service.

Dr. Kolansky confirmed the growth of a lipoma on my forehead. I considered plastic surgeons for this procedure but eventually decided that I felt most confident having Dr. Kolansky handle it. It was easy to set up an appointment that was convenient for me. I did not wait long on any visit, he and the nurse were very pleasant during the procedure, and best of all -- the surgical site looks great. I'm very pleased with his work, and I feel fortunate that he takes insurance.

after waiting an hour - NO bedside manner, they could not care less about their patients. they have no time for you or your questions once you are in the room with him. i was left with HUGE HORRIBLE UGLY scar on my arm from the removal of a small (.3mm) melanoma - it looks like i stitched it myself. i would NOT recommend him.

If you need love, attention, time, and to "feel good" from your appointment, this is not the doctor to choose! If you want a doctor who knows what he is doing when it comes to skin cancer, this is the doctor to see. He has NO bedside manner, he is not on time, his staff thinks the hours of operation should parallel a bank but the doctor knows his stuff and is good at what he does.... He has NO bedside manner, none, zippo! But he will take care of your skin cancer and as long as you know what to expect from him and what not to expect from him, you will have a decent experience.

OK hit the wrong button. I had an appt. for a skin cancer screening. I waited in the waiting room for 1 hour and 15 minutes. They called my name. I sat in the exam room for at least another 15 minutes. Then the lights in the whole building went out. I sat there on a table in a robe in a pitch black room. Do you think someone came in the room to open the door so I could see? No. I had to feel my way to open the door. Do you now think anyone comes in? No I waited another 15 minutes, got dressed, then the lights came on. I went to the desk and told them I was leaving. They just said oh why? He'll be right in. When I said no they said would I like to make another appt. Are they kidding me! After over 2 hours there and no doc I had had it! Kolandsky thinks the only time that is worth anything is his own. What is it? The dollars signs is all he sees!!!!!!!!!

This Dr. spends no time with his patients! He actually finished his sentance as he exited the room and was in the hallway - I suppose my allotted 2.5 minutes of time was up! I would advise others to see a Doctor who doesn't seem to overbook his patients and can afford more time to answer people's questions.

Unbelievably great job on the MOHS surgery. I had quite deep surgery on my face and can already wear no makeup on my face with an almost invisible scar. People can not believe I had surgery done on the spot. He is efficient and knowledgeable.

One of the worst doctor's I've ever seen. He barely acknowledged I was in the exam room, never mind examine me. I was completely turned off by his lack of doctor/patient rapport, his rude behavior and the 50 minute wait I incurred. I now need to go find another doctor to diagnose and treat my situation.

I don't feel he soes a complete exam. Thank God I went to another Dr. who diagnosed my melanoma. I have a huge scar now but aleast I am alive. I had the mole for 10 years. The problem could be that not many Dermatologists accept insurance.

Used him a total of 3 times. He is fast, but friendly and knowledgeable. Had 11:30 appointment was in room by 11:55, not bad. He is “Speedy Gonzales”, but who wants to at the dr.’s office all day. Office staff friendly for the 30 seconds I spoke with them. Was in car after 5 bio’s by 12:35. What more can you ask!

I found the doctor to be very excellent physician, very busy office with a caring staff. The doctor is an excellent at Mohs and the removal of skin cancers. Very good in cosmetic procedures and has treated my children. My family has used this doctor for cosmetic procedures, skin cancers and acne and have always found him to give excellent care. great care

Dr. Kolansky is amazing. Very professional and knowledgable. I had a rare type of skin fungus (playing manhunt in the woods, really gross) and after seeing 5 doctors, each with their own prognosis, Dr. Kolansky was able to clear it up for me in only about 3 visits. I was getting scared that I had some uncurable type of disease, but the doc reassured me that although it was rare, it was completely curable. I have had no skin problems since, but if I do, I know where i will be headed!
