:) Click to report rating    3/2/10 4 5 5 This was the first ENT doc who took time to listen to me and carefully examine me. Then he explained my condition and the cause in easy to understand words. His diagnosis was right on and his treatment fixed my problem when 3 other docs couldn't. Excellent physician and ON TIME. When does that ever happen. Definitely recommend!

:) Click to report rating    1/19/10 5 5 5 Dr. Bates was on-time, rare for any doc. He listened to my symptoms, did a thorough exam and made a diagnosis. His treatment was right on target and I was better within a week. Great doc!

:( Click to report rating    11/20/09 1 3 1 Dr. Bates stops at the obvious and does not look beyond to what other possibilities could be issues. It's either you have an infection or there's nothing wrong with you. The staff is horrible. I've never encountered a more unfriendly group ever in the medical profession. This entire office needs to go back to school.

:| Click to report rating    7/14/09 2 3 2 Dr. Bates has awful office staff that make scheduling and attending appointments a nightmare. Saw Dr. Bates twice in five years and each time he suggested surgery as my first option. He would not listen to my symptoms and would not discuss available options other than nothing or surgery. After second opinion, was placed on medicine and symptoms cleared within six weeks. Will not go see him again.

:) Click to report rating    4/23/09 4 4 5 Chose Dr. Bates to remove my son's tonsils. Was extremely caring and calm throughout the whole process. So, four years later, called Dr. Bates after other son was hit in face with baseball. He asked me a couple of questions and then determined that he needed to be seen right away. Indeed had a septal hematoma that required immediate repair to avoid misshapen nose later. Finally, a year later when I was having trouble swallowing and had already seen two doctors who didn't know why, called Dr. Bates and he fit me in and diagnosed acid reflux, referred me to GI doctor. He was right. This is a very good doctor for adults and children.

:| Click to report rating    8/19/08 2 3 3 Dr. Bates is not very compassionate, nor does he have a good "bedside manner." He seemed inpatient and somewhat condescending in nature. I would not go back to see him in the future!

:| Click to report rating    6/15/08 3 1 3 waste of money to see this doc. He did not talk anything but surgery. Did not want to investigate with with medicines first. Had a closed mind regarding my symptoms related to ears and nose... said stupidly that they are unrelated !!! but any idiot who knows EarNoseThroat can tell inflammation in one will affect another. I decided right away this is not the "wise" doctor I was looking for... NOT going back to him !! I am pretty sure my problem was virus related and surgery is not the answer but he would not agree.
