:) Click to report rating    3/5/10 4 4 5 I have been seeing Dr. Byrd during the past year for hormone treatment. I feel very comfortable with her and think she is qualifed in this area. The staff is very polite and they have always been very helpful whenever I have had questions - expecially Alex. Dr. Byrd never has appeared rushed during my appointments and actually takes the time to hear about my issues and fully explains her treatment plan. I always feel like Dr. Byrd does care about my well being and it is not just about the money.

:) Click to report rating    1/30/10 4 4 5 I started seeing Dr. Byrd 2 years ago for hormone replacement (bio-identical). Since that time I have had two procedures, liposuction and a mini-facelift. I have been very pleased with Dr Byrd and her staff. Dr. Byrd spends a lot of time with me before and after procedures and her staff seems very well informed as well. Selena is especially helpful with the skin care products.

:) Click to report rating    11/24/09 5 5 4 I've received 4 out of 5 fraxel restore treatments for scar revision/improvement. I feel as though my expectations were properly set from the beginning, and I am very pleased with the results so far. Dr. Byrd and her staff have been incredibly nice during each of my visits, and each one has started precisely on schedule. From my initial consultation, I've felt as though she has taken a great interest in what we both hope to accomplish. She is helping to correct a 'botched catastrophe' perfomed by another surgeon, in which I was clearly seen as a $$ sign. I would like to see Dr. Byrd spend a little more time (before or after each treatment) addressing any questions, concerns, or future ideas that the patient may have. She's usually very busy and it doesn't seem like there's much time to go over these things outside of the actual treatment. But as stated, I am very pleased with her work and expertise, and I would definitely recommend her to other patients for fraxel treatments.

:) Click to report rating    11/16/09 5 5 5 My first procedure with Dr. Byrd was this past spring. I had liposuction and have been very happy with the results. Dr. Byrd and her staff took the time to answer all my questions before and after my procedure. About three months ago I started on bio-identical hormones. Now I feel and look great!!

:) Click to report rating    11/3/09 3 5 5 I have been going to Dr Byrd since I was 35 (I am now 44) and she has always been very nice and though a bit rushed, very attentive. The staff was a bit disinterested when I first when there but of course there are new people in place since and that are all very nice. Always on time - a bit expensive but I expect that - the results have always been pretty good except for a bit of lumpiness using Evolence this last time. I prefer restalyne. Better results. My botox injections work wonderfully but dont last long - that is not her doing - Im simply aging...I love that she has her bird and dog at the office. Helps me feel at ease. The waiting area is lovely. Her assistant is very polite and very conversational. Alex makes check out less painful with his friendly demeanor. Easy to get an appt and Dr Byrd is serious - but ALWAYS friendly!

:( Click to report rating    7/29/09 1 1 1 I had an absolutely awful experience. The staff was great - until after you paid. The day of the procedure they were running very late and were quite rude to my friend who took me home. The follow up was even worse - I waited more than an hour to have someone not even in scrubs try to figure out what picture to take - getting it wrong twice. I had a reschedule my next follow-up and they never called back to get me an appointment time - so much for being "included in the price." Finally, I have some really strange bumps, and a line across my stomach that wasn't there before. I hate to see them advertising so much, because I unilaterally recommend that everyone go elsewhere.

:) Click to report rating    7/10/09 5 5 5 Will definitely see her again. She got me results that no other doctor did. Also at a reasonable cost.I had an eye pinch and laser under the eye. I am offen guessed to be 6-10 years yo9unger than I am.

:( Click to report rating    4/8/09 1 3 1 Two years ago I went to see Dr. Byrd for her opinion on wrinkles and my general skin condition. The biggest problem is that she SOLD me on getting Juvaderm under my eyes to correct hollowness casued by an under eye lift and having the fat pads removed by another Dr. many years before. She told me that the Juvaderm was the newest and best thing to come out and that it would fill in under my eyes beautifully. She said she would give me a good deal as the sales person had left her with samples. Well after she put the Juvaderm in under my eyes I had major bruises for three weeks and large lumps under my eyes. I went back and she agreed that the Juvaderm had caused the lumps and put something in she said would counteract it. It did nothing. I have lived with large deforming lumps under my eyes for years now. I went back to her in Feb. 09 and she told me that the lumps were cause from fat pads. ( I had them removed remember) She refused to acknowledge she did anything wrong.

:) Click to report rating    12/24/08 5 5 5 I have been a patient of Dr. Marcia Byrd's since 2003. She re-did lipo that had been done in 1996 by a well know Atlanta plastic surgeon that was lumpy and disfiguring. Her results were amazing. In 2004 I had a face lift by another plastic surgeon who showed me images of how I would look. He absolutely destroyed my face. Dr Byrd told me I did NOT need the face lift and I should have listened to her. She has repaired the damage done by this doctor with fraxel lasers and fat transfers. It has taken 3 years but she has repaired the damage. She has been honest in her evaluations, prompt in all apoints and extremely reasonalbe compared to other doctors I have used without acceptable results. If she believes it is not in your best interest to have a procedure, she will tell you. There are many doctors that will do anything you want done, even if it is not in your best interest. Dr. Byrd cares about her patients and has extensive knowledge of how to help them acheive great results.

:( Click to report rating    12/10/08 1 1 1 Have paid over $20,000 so far to real plastic surgeons to CORRECT Dr. Byrd's mistakes made on me. I still have to have more surgery to correct her mistakes - at least $10,000 more from my pocket. Biggest mistake of my life in using Dr. Byrd.

:( Click to report rating    10/21/08 1 1 1 Stay away from Marcia Byrd. When I read she was previously disciplined by the Medical Board (drug abuse-see Public Board Orders), that should have been my clue. But when I went to her office for botox injections, one of her big dogs came bolting into the procedure room. I yelled where did that dog come from, & she pushed the dog out of the room with one hand & then gave me the injection with the other. She did not wash her hands after touching the dog. Still in shock, I had to have one of the assistants hold the dog & keep him from jumping on me on my way out. This office is completely unprofessional/unsterile. I reported her to the medical board. They did nothing. More of you should complain to the GA Medical Board. I mean really - what kind of doctor opens herself up to liability by having 2 dogs running loose in a place that is supposed to be clean? I don't care if she is technically the best doctor in the world (by the way she isn't), I would not step foot in her practice again.

:) Click to report rating    9/17/08 5 5 5 Dr. Byrd and her staff are some of the nicest people that I have ever met. They are always very professional and helpful. I had the Smart Lipo done about a year ago and she just did a touch up for me this month. She did a fantastic job both times! It was painless and I would definitively do it again. She also fixed an acne scar that I had on my face. She fixed it with just one visit and it was a deep scar too. Now you can't even tell that it was ever there. Dr. Bryd is so wonderful that I plan on having her do more procedures for me as I feel needed.

:) Click to report rating *  7/14/08 5 5 5 Since my visits with Dr. Byrd I have been very happy with the way my body has turned out. She is smart and savvy, knows what she's doing. She's been honest with me and has never tried to push me into doing more procedures for the sake of reaping financial benefit like other cosmetic surgeons are known for doing. The smartlipo procedure was by far quite painless, in fact, i'd do it again in a heartbeat if I felt it was necessary. The staff is friendly, especially the receptionist Alex. He's always been very flexible and polite about my weird schedule. I highly recommend others to visit Dr. Byrd. Just remember to keep your expectations realistic and do your part with pre and post-op instructions.

:) Click to report rating    7/11/08 5 5 5 I have been a patient of Dr. Byrd for several years now and I could not be happier! I have had surgery, as well as, other minor procedures performed by her. I truly appreciate the time that she spends talking with me and making sure all of my questions are answered. Her staff has always been very kind and courteous. I would highly recommend her!

:( Click to report rating    7/5/08 1 2 1 I had 20k in procedures done at this office, including smartlipo. I was pleased with Dr. Byrd as a person. However, after a few months nothing turned out as promised. I recently went for a check-up. I was shocked to see a lady screaming and throwing things at the staff. The patients in the waiting area were actually fearful! It turns out the screaming lady was Diane, the co-owner and girlfriend of Dr. Byrd. The staff only made the excuse "she is always like that." I couldn't believe the things she said in front of patients, and she actually had the nerve to ask the patients what they were staring at! It turns out if you watch their media news promos, Diane is on there pretending to be a patient. The staff seems to be very unhappy, and it seems to get worse every time I visit. The co-owner is obviously a liability. Dr. Byrd is a nice person, but she has the wrong people around her. If I had it to do over I would go to a more tradional office with a much more professional staff.

:( Click to report rating    6/17/08 1 1 1 My last visit, the doctor's big dog was running loose in the office and actually attacked and bit me on the leg. Animals running loose in an environment that is supposed to be sterile, where they perform surgery on human beings. I always had to wait around 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was prescribed an antibiotic that I was allergic to. Luckily the pharmacist caught it. Paged doctor twice before she called me back. Got conflicting information from her staff - one said NEVER use peroxide on my incision, one said use peroxide 4 times a day. I experienced enormous anxiety during the whole process.

:( Click to report rating    5/13/08 1 1 1 Dr. Byrd did not ask any questions about my medical/physical history, did not even touch, measure the areas i wanted her to perform liposuction on. Her receptionist tried to force me to take an earlier date b/c they had a cancellation; when i told them that would not work they said i would not be getting my downpayment back. Evidently, they are only concerned about getting their money. Also, Dr. Byrd's procedure left me scarred all over; the staff was rude, acted like "well, you paid for it you wanted it" so...they were callous, rude and heartless. ANd, evidently as they already received their money, Dr. Byrd was no longer attending to me after the surgery but had a nurse do all the follow up appointments. IS a nurse supposed/qualified to do fraxel/bbl (laser treatments) they were using to try to undo the scarring they left all over me.

:( Click to report rating    4/6/08 1 3 1 Her staff was rude to me as I was asking them questions about payment, procedures, and dates... In the consultation she seem to not want to be bothered and acted as she had other important things to do. She took her staff side and said that because I ask so many questions that she does not think I am ready for surgery. (Maybe I am wrong but aren't you supposed to ask questions when you are thinking about having surgery). Isn't that how some people end up ****ed or dead. She mentioned she would use Vaser. When I asked about her explaining Vaser to me (she told me to look it up). I felt rushed and she acted like to had other important things to do. She is also not board certified but a member of her staff said she is certified when I asked.

:( Click to report rating    12/28/07 1 2 1 Performed Smart Liposuction on my stomach and lovehandle areas. I was given a guarantee that the areas that were done would turn out to be flat, which they didn't. I was given 1 "touchup" but only on my sides and was promised if both my sides and stomach did not turn out correctly that Dr Byrd would redo them. After numerous phone calls and emails Dr Byrd finally agreed to redo the areas but charged me $500 this time. Between the time I paid and scheduled my appointment to the time the surgery was suppose to of been performed I was mistreated by her staff and accused of being a wimp because the Doctor for no reason at all would not prescribe me with medicine for pain. Then the Doctor canceled my appointment several times. It was like she didn't want to do the surgery but just took my money and made an appointment to shut me up. The day of the surgery I was told that they overbooked and I had to go home. They refused to schedule another appointment with me and were very unprofessional.

:( Click to report rating *  6/21/06 3 1 When I was treated by Dr. Bryd I was put on Voltaren (an nsaid) for back pain. Voltaren ripped up my stomach and instead of switching me to one of countless other nsaids, I was told to drink Milk of magnesia (which did nothing for me.) It took about a week and was like pulling teeth. Finally the prescription was changed to Vioxx which I had no problems with. The office personel considered me a trouble maker and felt that I was lucky the prescription was changed. After that hassle I never returned to Dr Bryds office. Her knowledge is limited because she diagnosed my above condition as muscular, even though my next physician saw that my symptoms were obviously a herniated disc and he properly treated that.
