Dr. Haas is a very skilled Laparoscopic surgeon. As such, he is in great demand and there are opportunities for many scheduling glitches to arise. I have had to wait for longer than desired, on multiple occasions but that is to be expected when dealing with a Colo- Rectal surgeon. He performed a successful Laparoscopic Colectomy on me, using two very small incisions. I was out of the hospital in two days and up and around in about five days. My operation was fairly lengthy and there is really no way that any doctor can predict exactly how long surgery of this type will take. Once a surgeon makes an incision, they should be committed till the surgery is correctly completed; no matter how long that takes. When you are on the operating table, you won't care if someone else has to wait an extra hour or be re-scheduled; because complications arise in your procedure.
This man is an inconsiderate and uncompassionate man. My family was made to wait 2 hours for him for a procedure. When he finally showed up and he had to wait 15 minutes for me to be brought down, he told the nurse to me to get my ass down to him because he doesn't wait for patients. His professionalism is lacking.
Eric Haas is a superb surgeon. I had a very severe case of diverticulitis in two separate areas of the colon and numerous adhesions due to a clonic rupture. Dr. Haas worked for five hours to correct the problems through a six inch incision. No colstomy was required and I was working full-time three weeks later. Almost three years later I am having no symptoms whatsoever. I owe much to Eric Haas. In addition to his technical skills Dr. Haas is a personable and caring human being. If you are in need of colorectal surgery, there is no better place to turn.
it’s now been 5 weeks post-op (sub-total colostomy for colon inertia).
I returned to work at 4 weeks and thus far doing great! Going to the bathroom about 2-3 times a day and I feel soooo much better!!!! I wish I’d done this years ago. I’m crossing my fingers that things remain this way. I thought I’d have loose stools, but this really hasn’t happened at all. Guess that why I needed to have the surgery, huh?
Anyway, just checking in and letting you know I’m doing great and so appreciative that you listened to me and did the surgery. I will be more than happy to talk with anyone you want me to talk with regarding their fears, concerns, and the facts on how the surgery went for me.
