:) Click to report rating    3/28/09 5 5 5 The physician I was seeing would not switch me to Armour Thryoid so I searched and came up with Dr Belgrave. I was impressed from the first appt... his interest in what I had to say, willingness to look beyond his specialty in medicine, promptness, friendly, open to other modalities of treatment and most important, I feel I can trust him. He is irreplaceable and I recommended him with full confidence to anyone I can.

:) Click to report rating    9/2/08 4 5 5 An excellent doctor. Always punctual (and yes, this is HUGE in an industry where many doctors make you wait for hours for no good reason). Very knowledgeable. Takes care to explain what he's seeing and to explain his diagnoses. Lays out options very carefully. Listens with respect. Doesn't hesitate to refer me to a specialist when he thinks its justified. I'm glad he's my PCP!

:) Click to report rating    5/27/08 3 3 5 Dr. Belgrave saved my life! As a 39 year old, non-smoker, with no family history of heart disease, and without high cholesterol, I was have chest pains. After a visit to Urgent Care, everything checked out fine with my heart. They said is was probably a hiatial hernia...Dr. B ordered some tests for that which were negative. He insisted that I get a stress cardiogram (which I resisted having done because I didn't have the warning signs). Sure enough, I did the test and they found a big problem...angiogram revealed a 13mm 95% blockage in a main artery! I was a walking time bomb they said. It actually turns out that my symptoms were caused by spasms in my esophogus, not cardiac, but they found it in the process only because of Dr B!!!! He is one of a kind doctor! Kind, caring, brilliant...Just wish he would go into practice for himself and limit the patients. Oh well, everyone should be able to have a doctor help with their health as good as him!

:) Click to report rating    1/15/08 5 5 5 My husband and I are both long-time patients of Dr. Belgrave. We began with him while we were living in Charlotte, continued with him while we were living in Atlanta and are now driving from the Piedmont Triad to continue with him. He is without question the most brilliant physician I have ever encountered. He has broad-based and inticate knowledge, insists upon punctuality from himself and his patients, is unfailingly warm and patient, thoroughly professional, and highly informed about new medications and new procedures. I refer to him unabashedly as the "smartest man in medicine".

:(      12/14/07 1 1 1 Although Belgrave is not my regular physician, I was prescribed a drug that was not on the formulary, thus requiring pre-certification. On a Friday evening, I contacted the office to get them to approve the medication so I could pick the drug up at the pharmacy. Not only did he refuse to speak with me, he refused to contact the people at my insurance company so that the drug could be processed at the pharmacy. I am filing a complaint with the medical board and with MMG. I've been a patient at MMG for over 15 years and have always been satisfied with their service, until now! As a result of his actions, I'll need to go to UC or ER this weekend...no wonder medical costs are sky high in this country!

:) Click to report rating    11/1/07 5 4 5 I will never have another doctor as long as Dr. Belgrave is around! He takes the time to explain everything he is doing. He is probably the smartest doctor I've ever met. The perfect mix of knowledge, experience, and bedside manner. I trust him with my health. I have a chronic and long-standing illness, and Dr. Belgrave takes me very serious. He orders tests ASAP, and considers every option. He also encourages his patients to do their own research and ask questions. He makes me feel empowered when other doctors have tried to intimidate me. What a wonderful doctor! He works at MMG Southpark, near Southpark Mall in Charlotte, and I drive from 2 hours away just to have him as my PCP.

:) Click to report rating    7/11/07 5 4 5 Incredibly caring and knowledgable. Even though he is very busy, he will stop in and tell you how long he'll be. I've suffered for a year with fatigue and feeling bad. He was committed to testing until we found the cause. Tested for glucose tolerance and found to be pre-diabetic. No one else even suggested the test. When I called with bad side effects of medication, I got a REAL person, and then he actually called me 45 minutes later! This during a very busy Friday morning. I was told her was the best internist in Charlotte, and now I believe it.

:) Click to report rating    2/9/07 4 5 He listens, is informed, is tenacious in finding diagnosis and respectful of my knowledge of my body and encourages me to educate myself about my heatlh issues. After two years of misdiagnoses with another physician who laughed at my suggestions to test my thyroid antibodies I found Dr. Belgrave and he immediately assured me that I was not crazy. He diagnosed me with Hashimoto's disease and it is currently under control. He is great!

:) Click to report rating    8/16/06 5 5 I was looking for someone to help me with my Thyroid problem. I had been to several Dr's even the specialist and Dr. Belgrave was the only one who would listen to me and believe me that my dosage was not correct. I stuck with him and then started having terrible problems with numbness on one side of my face and numbness in every other part of my body. Then the severe pain kicked in it took him a little while to diagnose me but, he never stopped testing me and trying to figure out what is was. which ended up being Fibromyalgia and Chronic Epstein Barr. He is always very interested in getting to the bottom of whatever problem you are having. He has no problem sending you to specialists either. The practice is very busy but he is one of the best in my opinion.
