Dr. Peterson is a great OB/ GYN. I've only taken advantage of the GYN services (so far!), but I'm very pleased with the quality of care I've received. He generally listens very patiently to my concerns and usually asks very insightful follow up questions. I've only occasionally felt rushed when I've met with him; far less that with most other doctors whom I've seen! He's very knowledgeable and is very sympathetic to a scared young woman just diagnosed with endometerosis. The staff at Watauga Women's Center are also very nice and helpful, and they even allow you to email questions! (This seems to be very rare, but it is very, very helpful to me since I spend 90% of my life [or so it seems] sitting in front of a computer!) I highly recommend him!

Dr. Peterson was so great during my first pregnancy. I had a ton of questions and he listened to all of them. I never felt rushed, and he was great during the delivery. His nurse is very sweet and knows what she's doing. I would recomend him to anyone. I always had a thing about not wanting to see a male doctor, but he was so great it never bothered me!
Dr. Peterson and Dr. Shirley are in practice together and both are top notch. My daughter just had her first child delivered by Dr. Shirley as he was on call that night, and the experience could not have been better.
I don't agree at all with the first rater. A doctor's sexual orientation shouldn't matter at all in your rating of him/her. I have found him to be knowledgeable, patient and thorough and I would certainly recommend him.
