:) Click to report rating    11/16/09 5 5 5 I had a very good experience with Dr. Boothe and his staff. I got my eyes done last month and everyone was helpful and courteous. While the office was busy I was only there as long as they told me I was going to be. I think how busy it is speaks to his experience. I know I wanted the best in the world operating on my eyes and the results speak for themselves, I am now 20/15 and have no issues.

:( Click to report rating    9/11/09 1 1 1 I should have known better than to have surgery with him after the sales experience I had. All that advertising clouded my judgement. Don't make the same mistake I did. Get several opinions and don't fall for the hard sell if they tell you that you must decide soon or the "special" deal will be gone. Doctors should not do business this way in my humble opinion. My Wife had this surgery as well. She swore she would never have Boothe touch her eyes after seeing how my experience went. She went to another doctor after my surgery and had a much better experience and better outcome in our opinion--and actually paid less overall.

:) Click to report rating    5/23/09 5 5 5 I live near Tyler Texas and had heard of Doctor Boothe through some friends that live in Dallas that had their eye surgery done with him and had very good results. I decided to travel to Dallas and go through a consultation. I was very impressed with both the staff and the price of the procedure. I had my surgery done the next day and stayed in Dallas overnight for the follow up exam. Everything went very well and I now have 20/20 vision. I would recommend Dr Boothe no matter were you are, your eyes are worth the trip.

:) Click to report rating    5/5/09 5 5 5 Thank You! Thank You Boothe Eye Care! I waited and waited to have Lasik done. Now I am so happy. The staff was great, the doctors are great and my vision is now 20/15. Why did I wait so long? I went everywhere to compare and everyone was just about the same except when it came to Doctor experience. I just asked myself why trust anyone else - why not use the best. Hope this helps someone else make a clear choice.

:) Click to report rating    4/29/09 5 5 5 I was able to get in while Dr Boothe is running a 50% off special. Everything went very well and while the surgery room was cold, my overall experience was very good. When I met with Dr Boothe he answered all of my questions. If you are looking to get your eyes fixed Dr Boothe is a very good. I was able to get in while Dr Boothe is running a 50% off special. :) Click to report rating    4/24/09 4 4 5 I am not sure about the other people making negative comments, but I found my experience to be completely different. I found the staff to be nice, but focused. There were a lot of people getting their eyes done as well, but I think that speaks to Dr. Boothe's ability. My surgery was done quickly and I can now see at 20/15. I would recommend him to anyone looking to get their vision improved.

:( Click to report rating    4/15/09 1 1 1 Went to him for intralasik due to myopia and presbyopia (mid-40's). He told me he could give me 20/20 vision with NO glasses, even readers, for the rest of my life. Wow! He said ReSTOR was a state-of-the-art lense implant for anyone with presbyopia (I didn't have cataracts). I was totally against it, but he pushed hard and convinced me. My eyes are ruined. My life is ruined. I can't read small print, or at near or intermediate distances, or in low light, etc. His response, "just carry a flashlight". I am, I mean, WAS a credentialed CVICU Open Heart Specialist. Apparently, he thought it was just fine to let a patient die while I looked for a flashlight and then tried to provide life-saving measures with only 1 free hand. What an evil, greedy, self-consumed monster! A class-action suit sure seems simple. There are so many of us whose lives he has ruined. Protect yourself! Don't let this man touch your eyes.

:) Click to report rating    3/21/09 3 1 2 I had the mono-lasik also. Previous entry about living in the "real" world is so true. Kept telling me I had 20/20 vision. Yep, sitting in office chair looking at black & white objects not moving. Had trouble in real life distinquishing color & movement. Fell over parking curb & busted head. Almost walked into 3 foot construction drop until man grabbed my arm. I had to stop Dr. in hall by shirt sleeve & tell him I can't see right. He said, "Don't worry. We can fix that. I'll get someone to right you a Rx." A Rx for confirmed 20/20 vision according to staff! No offer to help pay for it. Finally did schedule for a redo on one eye. Had monthly post-ops but never correct anything. After a year I was released. So excited to leave I burst news to waiting room. Heard, "Your lucky. I'm in my 3rd year." Great reviews for Eye Institute (the cheap one). Was told family had one follow up w/ no problems.

:( Click to report rating    1/25/09 1 1 1 Worst experience I ever had. Ruined my eye sight. Does not honor 20/20 money back guarantee advertisement. I have filed a suit in small claims court to try and get my money back. I do need some legal help and more information on previous suit's/complaint's filed against Dr. Boothe. I can be contacted at freekiezoid2012@yahoo.com. Everybody that posted a negative comment against Boothe is true.

:( Click to report rating    8/14/08 3 1 1 I told Dr.Boothe I sit at a PC all day and was told I was a good candidate for LASIK, specifically for mono vision. I could not read my PC screen at a normal distance and had to sit right on top of my screen to see it. A normal viewing distance for a computer screen does not fall within the 18" that is considered the ideal reading distance. I was not a good candidate for mono vision, and I eventually had to have it reversed for distance only. I still have difficulties indoors with my left eye (the one reversed from beig a reading eye)in anything other than bright lighting (I can cover my left eye and the problems go away), but Dr. Boothe really didn't seem to care about this and really didn't even want to listen. He told me that I was seeing 20/15 that day in his office and that I should be "damn happy" with my eyesight. I live in the real world, and it does not consist of staring at an eye chart from 20' away all day. The difficulties I'm having are real, but Dr. Boothe didn't care.

:( Click to report rating    7/15/08 1 1 1 During each procedure nothing is expalined. During the surgery Boothe became verbally abusive to a co-worker and berated him in the surgery room with 20 pateints waiting. I almost got-up and shouted "what the hey is going-on here?" Booth is threatening to replace a guy during the surgery. I was next in line getting ready to be worked-on by a guy who was fearing for his job and then by a doctor angry with his staff - lasers flying around my eyes in this environment is unethical.

:( Click to report rating    11/1/07 1 1 1 I got lasik in April & once I paid, I was herded like a cow from room to room for 6 hours (mostly waiting) to get eye tests performed & then had the surgery the next day. After months of long appointments, I now have to have the procedure redone, one eye at a time. I went for my appointment, which included about 20 minutes of tests, I was there for over 4 hours. They told me they were booked till the end of Jan to do the surgery. When I called last week they told I could get in the following Monday. I was furious b/c this is only for my left eye, I will have to wait until a month after my left surgery to even schedule my right and then it will probably be another 3 months! The waiting rooms are full of disgusted clients. I have yet to see one happy customer. When I left I called the new patient line and said I wanted to have lasik and they told me to come in anytime that day for testing & they could perform the lasik the following day or any day thereafter that worked best for me.

:) Click to report rating *  10/20/07 5 3 4 Honestly from the previous responses, they would assume that this man isnt the Best Lasik Surgeon in the country. If your the best, youll have patients come to you from across the world. Which he does by the way. Dr Boothe lacks alittle in bed-side-manner. But he makes up for that ten fold with skill and accuracy. I got my surgery back when it was still new. Back when he was proclaiming 1000 completed surgeries. I think today its upwards of 70,000. Sure he gets people in and out fast. Sure there are alot of people there. But his mistakes are few and far between. Sure he has a monotone voice, but dont hold that against him when he can take you from being legally blind to having better eyesight then 99.9% of the population in about 5-10 minutes. The surgery was flawless on my part, which i needed it to be at the time. No room for error in the military and i had just joined. This was back in 2002 btw. Boothe is amazing, his skill unmatched. None can prove otherwise. Dont go anywhere else.

:) Click to report rating    8/14/07 4 3 5 As previously noted by fellow raters, this is a busy office. Going in with this knowledge, I found the office to be efficiently run. The employees were courteous and helpful, Dr. Boothe personally met with me alleviating my fears concerning the procedure, and in only two days I had 20/20 vision. I would recommend his services.

:) Click to report rating    8/5/07 3 3 3 Very, very good at what he does. He does, however, have an extremely busy office. If you want the highest skill, go to him. If you want a personalized atmosphere--go elswhere. He did take the time to speak to every patient personally;not every doctor does that. I did not pay him for personality--I paid him to fix my 20/800 vision and he did an outstanding job. The other comments are correct though...it does seem like a production line.

:) Click to report rating    8/2/07 5 5 5 Dr. Boothe is an excellent surgeon. He got me to 20/15. He personally met with me and answered all my questions and concerns before surgery. He has done more intralasik than anyone in the world. I would recommend him to my family. Expect a busy office.

:( Click to report rating    5/8/07 1 1 First off, I'm a medical office manager of 10 physicians so I know what I am talking about. This physician and the way he treats his patients is not acceptable. He is rude and arrogant. No bed side manner at all! He arrived in my room for my 1st visit, didn't even look at me, he reviewed my chart, discussed with the nurse what he was going to do and was gone in less than 3 minutes. Follow up visit was less than 2 minutes even tho I waited 2 hours to be seen. He runs his practice like a production line. The last 2 comments about him and the cattle drive are right on. I have told everyone I meet about the horrible experience I have had, and let me tell you I have heard from quite a few people with basically the the same stories. How he gets away with how he runs his clinic is beyond me. If you want a physician to give you one on one attention and compassionate care, DO NOT GO TO DR BOOTHE!
