:( Click to report rating    1/16/09 2 3 1 This doctor is by far the the second worst doctor I have ever met with in my life. I went to see him to find out why I have osteopenia (precursor to osteoporosis) at such a young age (19). He told me that test results don't mean anything and I shouldn't take my calcium supplements anymore. He gave me the example of, "it's like comparing people's heights. Just because a woman is 4'2" doesn't mean there's something wrong with her. I wouldn't medicate a person who is short." Three years later my osteopenia is all better because I saw another physician and continued to take my medication. This doctor is completely cuckoo.

:( Click to report rating    11/14/08 4 2 1 Dr. Epstein took a long time with me and listened, but did nothing for me since I fell within normal lab ranges" for TSH (I had tested positive for Hashimotos thyroiditis). Dr. Epstein dismissed my symptoms and said that "most women feel cold"..."most everyone has dry skin" and wanted to prescribe me Wellbutrin for despression. I have an anti-thyroglobulin level of over 3000...I have Hashimotos. Dr. Epstein treats on lab values alone and even gave the example, and AND THIS IS THE TOPPER....that he wouldn't monitor my TSH more than once a year because 99 times out of 100, TSH doesn't change much from year to year. Of course then he gave the wonderful example of how one patient didn't follow that his "TSH doesn't change much from year to year" rule and went on to tell me that she DIED!!!....Don't go to Dr. Epstein if you want a treatment plan based on your individual health and symtpoms...he treats on numbers alone!

:| Click to report rating    1/20/08 2 1 1 I never really cared for Dr. Epstein. He has an abrupt bedside manner and treats you somewhat patronizingly.
