He was approachable and nice; however, just because the case at hand was not his specialty, it does not justify the complete lack of knowledge and willingness to refer me to another specialist. Complete waste of time and money.

I am amazed by the negative reactions. I am a woman who presented with chronic blood in my urinalyses. He was very thorough. Took lots of time with me. Did a procedure that others had told me was painful but which was not painful at all. I have recommended him to many people. I was pleased with the service.

Was very thorough in running tests for an odd medical issue. Waited until he had all the information before telling me what I should do from here. Answered all of my questions.

Very unhelpful. Not compassionate at all. No testing done. Explained he is a fertility urologist...Waste of time and money.

Did not conduct any testing for recurrent utis aside from an office urinalysis. Either unable or unwilling to run tests. Rude. Provides no options or alternatives for diagnosis or treatment. Complete waste of time. Amazing that we graduated from the same alma mater (U. of Va)and he is so incompetent.

I met Dr. Shin the first time in my hospital's operating room during my medical emergency. Dr. Shin is very responsive to my questions and concerns. He explains things very well in layman's term. He is honest and straightforward. Very caring and helpful, he responded to my medical emergency with very short notice (a couple of hours) in an evening and did a great job on my operation.
