:( Click to report rating *  2/3/10 3 3 1 Unfortunately, I found Dr. Perkins to be rude, curt, abrupt, unapproachable, and arrogant. He has a poor bedside manner and cut me off repeatedly during several questions. He seems unwilling to entertain questions. Although he provided some useful advice, I left the consult with several of my concerns unanswered. I do not intend to return to his practice and would not recommend him.

:) Click to report rating    10/22/09 4 4 5 I had a wonderful experience with Dr. Perkins. I saw him numerous times for ongoing treatment, and found him knowledgable, patient, and a pleasure to speak with. Most importantly, he solved the acne problem I've been struggling with for 15 years! I cannot thank him enough, and would recommend him to anyone.

:) Click to report rating    10/22/09 4 3 4 Overall I had a positive experience with Dr. Perkins, he seemed a little rushed but I had a simple issue that was efficiently addressed in less than 10 minutes. The only negative comment I have is that it was unfortunate that the woman at the front desk seemed overwhelmed because apparently someone else was out and she was doing multiple tasks while there appeared to be an older blonde with her back to the front office oblivious to the fact that this woman could use some help.

:) Click to report rating    10/21/09 2 3 5 I was very surprised by the feedback on this list. I do think Perkins staff can be abrupt and rude. But Dr. Perkins was pleasant, knowledgeable and focused on addressing my concerns. Have not needed return calls from him, so can't speak to that.

:( Click to report rating    8/18/09 1 3 2 I would give Dr. Perkins a poor rating in my opinion. I agree very much with other posted comments about the rude staff and somewhat arrogant attitude of Dr. Perkins. I had a laser procedure performed, had complications. Called for help and did not receive a return call until I was traveling the next week. I now have a scar.

:| Click to report rating    8/14/09 2 1 3 Dr. Perkins was nice, patient, and apparently knowledgeable, but so expensive!! $400 for Botox, while the doctor I go to now, who does a better job, charges less than $300. His staff is awful. Even though I called a week before to confirm my appointment, they called again the day before and then cancelled it when I didn't get a chance to call back before the end of the day.

:| Click to report rating    7/28/09 2 3 2 The office is clean and fairly organized but I find Dr. Perkins very condescending - he treats every question as if he thinks you are an idiot and he rushes through appointments. I've seen him several times, thinking he might change but no such luck. He seems quite knowledgeable and with better bedside manner, he could be a top doctor. But with his attitude, I'm finding a new dermatologist.

:) Click to report rating    5/12/09 3 4 4 I've never been to a dermatologist before and I found Dr. Perkins to be great. He answered all of my questions and didn't seem busier than any other doctor I usually go to. I would recommend him to others.

:) Click to report rating    5/12/09 5 5 5 I found this website while looking for another doctor and was shocked to read the negative reviews about Dr. Perkins. I have been seeing him for 2 years after giving up on dermatologists in DC. I have found him to be very knowledgable as well as always greets me professionally and listens to concerns. On more then one occasion we discussed several issues and he addressed each one in one visit. I always go in with the questions prepared I need to ask. His bedside manner is very calming I find. Having several biopsies done, he explais what he is doing and the good and bad that the findings may reveal. Luckily, none have come back with bad news but he has always called and told me the good news. Several of my friends use him as well and are very happy that I sent them to him.

:) Click to report rating    4/28/09 5 4 5 Have to give creit where credit is due. He was very knowledgable, very thorough with examining me. He does fall short on bedside manner though. His staff was nice and helpful!

:) Click to report rating    4/15/09 1 4 3 The women who sit at the front reception are unbelievably rude! I was trying to make an appointment for my next visit, and I apparently I asked the wrong person. She went on and on about how I should have asked the other woman at the front desk. They interrupt you and act like you are wasting their time! I guess that is the kind of attitude you get when the receptionist is 40 years old and making $7/hour. They should be fired! Dr Perkins himself is comes off alittle cold, but is knowledgeable. When you ask additional questions, he does tend to act impatiently.

:( Click to report rating    2/28/09 2 2 2 He seemed very disinterested in my concerns and I felt like he had his hand on the door the entire visit. It took close to a month to finally get in touch with the nurses for my biopsy results. I'll not be back to this one.

:| Click to report rating    12/26/08 1 1 3 Feeling releived after seeing these comments. Dr. Perkins was rude, interrupted before I could get a few words out, and made me schedule a second appointment to discuss more than the 1 issue we addressed. His demeanor was arrogant and condescending though by the sounds of his other reviews, his behavior is erratic. All this after waiting several months for an appointment. His reception staff was unprofessional too. The nurse/receptionist at the front desk loudly berated me because she saw me looking at my watch. Too many dermatologists to choose from to give Dr Perkins my business.

:( Click to report rating    8/28/08 1 3 1 Dr. Perkins was dismissive and condescending. He made me feel like my petty skin problems were beneath him. I will not go back nor will I recommend him to anyone I know..

:( Click to report rating    6/27/08 5 3 1 He is a terrible doctor. I told him I had rosacea and he said "i could've told you that when I walked in." He's rude and acts like god's gift to women. He also was annoyed with normal questions about the medication he was prescribing and suggested surgical removal of something that ended up being cleared up by a simple cream from my new dermatologist

:| Click to report rating    6/4/08 1 4 2 I did not have a good experience with this doctor or office in general. I found the staff to be extremely unfriendly and unhelpful. I was also interrupted by this doctor and found him to be on the rude side. Although the doctor seemed pretty knowledgeable himself, his staff on the other hand did not. In a number of follow up calls, I got conflicting answers and felt I could do better using the internet. Also the office did not return my calls or follow up as appropriate. If you are only looking to fill prescriptions and know what you need I would say he is acceptable but any deviation from that I would forget it.

:| Click to report rating    5/28/08 2 5 3 Only Dermatologist in town on short notice. His partner is usually booked months at a time. Not the nicest doc, but good for refills on your meds.

:| Click to report rating    5/4/08 5 5 2 Come to the appointment with at most one question to ask. Asking more than one question will annoy him and his clearly busy schedule.

:) Click to report rating    1/29/08 5 4 4 I am really glad that I found Dr. Perkins. He was very friendly and I felt comfortable talking to him about all of my issues. He even identified a problem that my previous dermatologists failed to recognize. I was slightly annoyed that he said he could only deal with one issue during my visit and I would have to make another appointment if I wanted to talk more about the other issues, but I would happily go back.

:| Click to report rating    8/13/07 4 4 2 I was switched to Dr. Perkins when my usual Derm was unavailable on short notice. I did not like his bedside manner at all and felt quite uncomfortable throughout the appointment.

:) Click to report rating    7/25/07 5 5 5 Very friendly and professional. Good bed side manners. I was in an out of the office in less than 25 minutes (door to door), with everything I came for taken care of. I would definitely recommend him.

:) Click to report rating    11/29/06 5 3 Dr. Perkins seemed impatient and rushed; he even interrupted me when I tried to ask questions! He prescribed two medicines without telling me what they were or what they did. When I brought up a second issue, he told me I'd have to make another appointment if I wanted to talk about that. It seemed that he was more concerned about getting to the next patient than about listening to me.
